Q:What are two problems assosciated with faulty heart valves, what are there causes, treatments, cures, symptoms, aftercare, etc?Thanks in advance!
There's just not 2 complications associated with heart valves, and which heart valves?, mitral or tricuspid valves?, aortic or pulmonary valves?, most of them causes hypertrophy of the ventricles or the atrium affected, symptoms mostly consists of either cardiac grade IV-VI murmurs, cyanosis or congestion of the heart resulting to dyspnea, the management for it is replacement of the calcified valves most of the time.
Q:Is there a devise to reverse the flow to a cylinder. Not the pump. But a inline flow deverter that would shift the flow from one side of the cylinder to the other at the end of the stroke automatically without a person interjecting.ie it extends fully then the flow reverses retracting it fully. Then the flow reverses, and it extends fully and so on.Preferably, with as little lag as possible during the transition.I want the pump to run constantly(not reversing) and the cylinder to run constantly. Do not worry about the heat generated.Would love something that ran off the main cylinder(like a secondary piston or valve that would opendivert flow at the end of the stroke) through linkage. But, I am open to electronics if need be. Further more want the return to be metered so that the push and pull forces will be the same(metered through a smaller opening to adjust for the rod).Thankyou
That I know of, there is nothing you can buy to do this...it would have to be built into the cylinder. A steam train main piston and valving does exactly as you describe, but through a linkage. You could hook up a MAC manual cylinder reversing valve (below) to a bar attached to the piston rod with adjustable stops to shift the valve at each end of the stroke. No electricity or electronics required, just air. Check with Parker for same valve for hydrualics.
Q:If I buy one of those Presta valve adapters can I just screw it on and leave it on while I ride? Will I lose air pressure at to fast of a rate?
Nope! I always ride with one screwed onto each tire. The schrader adapter screws over the presta. Always good to have one incase you're near a gas station and may need air.
Q:How would you change the Heater control valve on a 1997 honda civic hx?its my first car, so i dont know much about cars.
confident get the screw clamps. those spring clamps you would be able to besides throw them over the hill by way of fact while they're used then they get susceptible. plus with the screw clamps you may continually tighten them in the event that they must be.

these are the duplicate of original made by the same manufacture that volvo used. if your car is a 7 series almost any vacume operated after-market valve can be used in it's place as long as the operation is the same [ie. if memory serves vacume closes the valve] this actuation can easily be checked by starting the car and turning floor heat on, then moving temperature slide from cold to hot and checking the vacume supply tube [no vacume] then sliding control to cold [has vacume]

remove valve covers, watch front left two lifters and turn engine, by bolt that holds harmonic dampener to front of crankshaft, so mark on dampener lines up with mark on front cover. If rocker arms do not move as marks line up engine should be on top dead center number 1 cylinder. Now you can adjust exhaust valves 1, 3, 4, 8 and intake valves 1, 2, 5, 7 [ odd numbers are on the left bank from the front 1,3,5,7 even on the right bank from the front 2,4,6,8]. Adjust by turning nut in rocker arm out until movement is felt than tighten until all movement is gone and tighten one turn more. After done with the first eight valves turn engine over one full turn till marks line up again. Then adjust exhaust valves 2,5,6,7 and intake valves 3,4,6,8 the same way.
Q:why do new motorcycles need to get their valves shimed alot? can someone explain how the whole valve adjusting thing works? why do some engine types require more attention? i have owned thumpers my whole life and never really thought about it. i was looking at this like cheap beater bike (hyosung gt250 v twin) and i read the valves need to be checked like 3 times in a short span, wtf??
Valves have to have some clearance when the engine is cold so that as the stems expand the valves will still close all the way. Most of the wear in the valve train occurs at the valve and seat, as the seat tends to recede and the valve pulls further into the head.(SOHC and OHV designs may also wear in the rocker arms and bushings, which tends to open the valve clearances, usually not as quickly as valve seat wear, however.) As an inevitable result of this wear at the seat/valve juncture, the gap between the valve stem (or bucket or shim) and the cam lobe (or rocker arm) tends to close down. If the gap is too small, the valve may not close all the way when the engine is warm. If the valve does not have enough contact with the seat, it cannot transfer heat away, and may erode. There can also be a loss of compression if the valve cannot close. This wear happens most rapidly with a new engine and the valve clearances tend to close up relatively quickly. As the parts bed in, clearances tend to stabilize. That is why the first one or two valve adjustments are most important.
Q:Hey guys. I need help. Sorry this might not go here... but i couldnt find a 'good' category to put it in. This is for an engineering project for college.Im looking for shielded core solenoid valves that can with stand 95-98% sulfuric acid. With this in mind not very many materials are usable, right now we are looking for HDPE (High-density polyethylene).The size of the valves and cost is unimportant. Main thing is finding someone who sells HDPE solenoid valves.For more clarification on what we are looking for, below shows a shielded core solenoid valve from ASCO. The more acidic resistant material they offer however is a FKM. Which can only withstand ~60% sulfuric acid solutions.
In practice, engineers do not use solenoid valves directly on chemical or process lines. They are bound to leak and cause danger particularly in your case of 98% sulphuric acid. Use a mechanical valve actuated by a motor (since cost is no issue to you) If an air supply is available, then you can use pneumatic diaphragm valve operated by a solenoid valve. Motorised valve has slower fixed open close time VS faster adjustable open close time for air operated valves.
Q:I replaced the valve cover seal and I wanted to know the torque specs for the valve cover bolts and the sequence it should go
A followup question... if I have already tightened the valve cover down, most likely to the incorrect torque, then drove it around for a couple of miles then let it sit for a week. Will I be able to go back and loosen the valve cover then re-tighten them to torque specs or do I need to start with new gaskets? No sealant used. The gasket was the metal and rubber combo type.
Q:I have a suzuki bandit 1200 (2001) and I think it needs a valve adjustment. The engine is tapping at idle and while riding but I cant stop riding long enough to get it fixed. All the shops I checked with are booked for a week. Will I make the engine worst by riding it like this?
Noisy valves are better than quiet ones. Quiet means the valves are not fully closing, and exhaust gases will squeeze out the intake and exhaust ports causing burning of the valve seats. Shouldn't hurt too much to ride it until it's convenient for you. Keep an ear out, if it starts to get louder or somehow changes suddenly, you'll probably want to take it in right away.
