Q:We lost power and water during the hurricane, need help with water pump.?
1. you are going to need at least a couple gallons of water in a bucket to re-prime. 2. look for a plug at the top of the pump and remove it. 3. pour water into the plug opening, filling up the pump as much as you can. 4. put plug back in so at least one thread is grabbing. by doing this it will allow air to escape and won't be spraying water everywhere. it is also a good idea to keep your hand on the plug. 5. turn on electricity to pump. 6. when you start to notice pressure re-gaining tighten up the plug so it does not drip. It is also a good idea to have an outside tap on to get air out of the lines. Another thing is, it is a good idea to shut off water to toilets and washing machines before re-starting pump because small debris have a habit of clogging them up. When your pressure is back, drain your toilet and cold water line to your washing machine, flushing all the stuff out until you see nice clear water. Hope I helped and good luck.
Q:A submersible aquarium water pump for a camp shower?
Aquarium Water Pump
Q:why is my water pump keep going on and off only when i use it?
Sounds like a bladder tank issue. The bladder gets potential energy when the pump fills the tank. When you open a faucet for water, the potential energy stored in the bladder will push the water out of the tank without the need of the pump coming on until the tank is almost empty. You should be able to rock the tank when the pump first comes on to see if it is light weight, as it would be when almost empty. If not then there's your problem. When the pump ends its cycle is when the tank will be at its heaviest. Again: The tank should be full when the pump is not running and almost empty just before the pump comes on. The water pressure would behave as you describe if the bladder tank is not functioning properly.
Q:how do you pull the lower unit of a nassan 70hp outboard to install a new water pump?
I agree with the above post .Get a manual for the motor usualy at any marine shop or west marine is were i found mine at.Basically consists of draining the lower engine lube, taking out the bolts (is where the manuel really comes in handy.)Then removing the lower unit, when you get the impeller our book didnt tell us this ,ut the impeller will be of a larger diameter than the housing, if you take dish soap and apply it to the fins then you can help force it in there , just make sure once it is in ,hat all the fins are being roatated to the same way, either all facing left or all facing right. The hardest part is just reinstalling and aligning the lower unit shaft back up.Then bolt everything back up and refill the unit with lower unit with engine lube untill it over flows from a hole, agian your book will tell you where to fill it in at and what to look for.Good luck
Q:Problem with my water pump!!?
Sounds like it's waterlogged. That's what it's called when the water and the air in the resevoir tank mix, and the volume of air gets so small as to not be able to provide any decent compression with which to push water through the system. At that point, any time you open a fixture, the pressure drops enough to turn on the pump, and when you turn off the pump, if it's just right, it will turn off and then back on, then off, then on, back and forth till you shut it off and it can set and stabilize, till you need water again. The solution is to reintroduce a sizeable amount of air back into the top of the tank. If it's an older tank, without a bladder, (identified by the small bulge around the center of the tank and either a blue or rust color), then the best way is to simply drain the tank and restart the system. That way it will trap all the air in the top of the tank and you'll have enough pressurized air to push a gallon or two of water out, before the pump needs to kick on again. If it's the bladder type, with the bulge, then the bladder has blown and you're, in effect, working with a standard resevoir tank now, except that it will have an air valve in the top like a bicycle tire, so you can pressurize it with an air tank. If so, open some fixtures, start pressurizing the top of the tank and blow all the water out of the system. Once it's dry, put about 20 lbs. of pressure in the tank and start up the pump. You should be good to go.
Q:can someone eplain to me how the water pump works on an outboard motor?
The drive shaft turns with the engine and turns the impeller which picks up water and pushes it into the power head and exhaust There is a pick up in the foot
Q:Water is pumped out of a holding tank.. Calculus question?
Let V(t) be the volume of water (in Liters) in the tank after t minutes. We are given that V(0) = 1000, and we wish to find V(60). We are also given the rate of change of the volume: V'(t) = -[6 - 6e^(-0.09t)]. Note that a negative sign needs to be placed because the rate represents water leaving the tank, i.e., being pumped out of the tank. By the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Integral (0 to 60) V'(t) dt = V(60) - V(0), so that V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) V'(t) dt V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) -[6 - 6e^(-0.09t)] dt V(60) = V(0) + Integral (0 to 60) [-6 + 6e^(-0.09t)] dt V(60) = V(0) + [-6t + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09t)] (Evaluated at t = 60 - Evaluated at t = 0] V(60) = V(0) + [-6(60) + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09(60))] - [-6(0) + (6/-0.09)e^(-0.09(0))] V(60) = 1000 + [-360 - (200/3)e^(-5.4)] - [0 - (200/3)] V(60) = 1000 - 360 + 200/3[1 - e^(-5.4)] V(60) = 640 + 200/3[1 - e^(-5.4)] V(60) = approx. 706.4 Therefore, approximately 706.4 L of water occupy the holding tank 1 hour after the pump is started.
Q:water pumps?
Water pumps are available in different types. 1. Centrifugal type: Operate by increasing the velocity of water which, when the velocity is decreased by the Volute casing, the pressure increases. 2. Rotary Gear type.: Operate by Displacement of the water by rotating, gears that trap water between the teeth of 2 rotors of inter-meshing gears that release the water at a higher pressure on the opposite side of the pump to the intake. 3. Piston (reciprocating) type: Also a displacement operation by a piston moving backwards and forwards within a cylinder (like a hypodermic syringe in operation). Back stroke takes water into the cylinder and forward stroke discharges it at a higher pressure. (Double acting types are also used that take in and discharge alternately from both ends). If you mean the water pump of your car, they are generally of the Rotary type.
Q:92 blazer water leak -- NOT WATER PUMP?
look at the housing that the water pump bolts to ,it may be busted and there's some of the bolts that go all the way through in to the block if those wasn't coated with sealant it will still leak from the bolts that hold the water pump on,and that will make it appear to be leaking from the front cover, you got two freeze plugs in the front and three down each side, good luck with it,
Q:So im trying to take out a screw on my water pump?
Drive a smaller size 12 point socket onto it.
