Q:water some how got into my oil system replaced the oil pump and done an engine flush oil change and filter gave it a tune up dropped gas tank and cleanded that but my light still coming on whats else could be wronge

if your check engine light is on then there must be engine trouble code stores. Get it scanned and do proper diagnostic. Just guessing is going to cost you $$$. You can go to many auto parts store (like Autozone) and have it scanned for free. And they will tell you what might be the problem As for the water in you oil, that sounds like blown gasket. That's gonna cost you (no cheap fixes). I did my budd's gasket about 2 weeks ago for the same problem. Good Luck.

Q:I checked the manual and that‘s what it says, it was hard for me to understand exactly what the problem is. I filled my gas tank up to over 1/2 a tank and it‘s good,all the oil levels are fine.I did drive on a dirt road a day before I saw this light pop up. How can I take this light off if everything seems to be fine?

You need to have the code read with a scan tool to find the exact problem your car is having, there are different sensors for the emissions system. You might just have a bad oxygen sensor.

Q:I‘m trying to install a RS1200 remote starter in my 2006 Dodge ram. I have everything working on the truck. A/C comes on, radio and lights all start, the whole nine yards. The only thing that wont start is the engine. All of the other stuff only stay‘s on for about 10 sec before it turn‘s off, restarts and try‘s again and repeats. I verified all the wires on the truck are correct. I was thinking the truck has an anti-theft system but i wasn‘t sure. If it does do i have to buy a bypass module for it to get it to start?

Contact Dodge with your vin #s and see what unit was factory and did your have 1 or a aftermarket system. If all else fails contact a stereo install center.

Q:I have a store bought diagnostic machine that the guys who work in the shop and sold it to me said it really does work, which I tend to believe since them saying so could result in them losing money. Anyhow, I have a small emissions system leak, did the gas cap, reset the light, it cam back on. So, I am calling around to see who can fix it for the least amount of money. My local dealership said they would have to still run a diagnostics test running me $100 more dollars even though i can tell them what the problem is. They said their diagnostic will tell them precisely where the leak is, which sounds a little fishy to me, i don‘t think that machine would tell them that, wouldn‘t it be a visual or some other type of inspection other than the diagnostic machine. also, regardless of the diagnostics, how much should this run me so i know who is trying to steal from me and who is being more honest? This is not covered under my extended warrenty.

This is a generally easy question to answer. The leak could be anywhere in your exhaust system. From the exhaust headers on the front/side of the engine, all the way back to the muffler. Generally, though, these leaks tend to be around the O2 (oxygen) sensors. Most cars have 2. Some could have 1-3 of them. Go to an exhaust specialist and ask them if they could help you find the leak. Otherwise, if it is not the exhaust, it could be a vacuum leak in the engine bay. Most engines now have rubber hoses that are all over the engine that allow air to be pulled through various areas of the engine. If you can do it yourself, check all the hoses and see if you can find one that is detached. A good source of reference would be a Hanes auto manual which you can pick up from Auto Zone. the check engine light goes on when any of the systems the computer monitors returns a value outside the parameters it expects to see. Even when the light recycles and resets, the error code is kept in memory. Go to the dealer, or your mechanic, and have the system scanned for error codes. One that is done you will know what codes are present, and how serious it is. Someone is bound to tell you to go to some auto parts store to have it scanned. Please don't. They only do the scan to sell you parts, and the scan is only as good as the kid on the counter that day.

It is just a coincidence that the Engine Management Lt should come on after the servicing. Your mixture of different grades of oil does not do any harm to your engine. Have oil is better than no oil. The light is most reliable to inform you what is wrong with your car. One of the engine sensors has failed (or value is out of range). Read out this defect with your mechanic's diagnostic scantool, replace the faulty sensor, and delete the memorised fault. I believe your engine is healty as you change the oil regularly.
