Q:I'm wiring up a kenwood sub and amp. Everything is connected except for a quot;power control wirequot;. Not sure what this does or where I should connect it to. Any help?
can you connect more than one device to the center unit power control wire?
Q:im assuming red to red and black to black? but then what about the extra green and white wires in the iphone cable? where do they go?
Those are the USB wires. For a charger, they need connected through voltage setting resistors.
Q:Two wires are made of the same material but the second wire has twice the diameter and twice the length of the first wire. When the two wires are stretched, and the tension in the second wire is also twice the tension in the first wire. the funamental frequency of the first wire is 880 Hz. What is the fundamental frequency of the second wire?
Since the tension and size are different the two wire will have different wave speeds Since v= sqrt(T/mu) mu can be represented by density * area Since the second wire has twice the diameter it will have 4 times the mu and since Tension in wire 2 is twice that in wire 1 v2 = sqrt(2T/4mu) sqrt(.5)*v1 = 0.707*v1 Since f1 (wire 1) = v/2L1 then f2(wire 2) = v2/2L2 so replacing v2 and L2 yields 0.707v1/(2*2*L1) = 0.707/2(v1/2L) = 0.707/2 *f1 = 0.707/2*880Hz = 311Hz
Q:i need the wire diagram for a kenwood kdcmp4032.... i mainly need to know which wire to hook up the remote wire for an amp.

Q:i bought a wiring kit off OKorder it was a bullz 4 gauge kit. and i am running a rockford 500.2 n its rated for 700+ watts. so do you think my cheaper wiring kit is affecting performance? should i go snag up some bigger power wire for more power to run through it or is tht not how it wokrs?
you should add a capacitor to your system. a 5 fared should be good. it is a reserve for when the bass hits. it's less stress on your alternator and battery. and you won't get the headlight dimming affect when you have it cranked up. ask your local car audio shop. you should be good with 4 gauge.
Q:I have noticed that a room in my house is improperly grounded, and it needs to be redone. We do know that most of the wiring is made with a single core, copper wire. Would there be a hazard with using a multi core (speaker) wire for the grounding, or should we do the wiring with a single core wire.
multi-stranded wire is used when flexibility is needed such as pulling a wire through a conduit with multiple bends, the wire size depends on how many amps there will be and you circuit breaker must be sized correctly. NO!! you cannot use speaker wire because the insulation on the wire is not made for the higher voltage, a speaker may use around 24V while a home uses 120V or 240V. yes you can use multi-stranded wire in the same manner you use solid core as long as it is sized correctly for the amperage and over-current protection device (circuit breaker or fuse).... and the insulation type depends on the location and voltage it will be used for, for homes there is not much to worry about, but if it will be used around chemicals, oils or other petroleum products... or for high voltages the insulation type must be chosen accordingly.... solid core is easier to work with in a residential home because it holds its shape when running through joists or going around a bend.... stranded wire would almost act like wet spaghetti and need to be secured more than required by code and is normally contained in some type of conduit.
Q:I bought a cheap amp wiring kit so the ground wire is not the same size as the power wire but my friend gas me an extra piece of 8 gauge wire same as mine if i put both of these to on at the same time would it help out any? also he gave me some audio cable like the wires inside are twisted to gather the box says it gives you better sound quality would they make a difference in sound that the one's i have on there know? Thanks
NO, you need to buy thicker wire because electricity follows the path of least resistance which means if one of the wires is 1/8 of an inch longer than the other, that is the wire the most electricity will flow through, as far as the speaker wire it wont make a difference unless it is thicker than what you already have installed (its very hard to tell the difference in sound quality even with very high quality speakers
Q:There are two switches – the left is for the fan, the right is for the light. They operate independently. I want to replace the light switch with one that has a motion sensor. There are four sets of bundled wires coming out of the back of the box. Each bundle has a white, a black, and a copper wire. Two black wires come out of each switch. The top wires go into two of the bundles in the back of the box, the bottom wires are connected with each other and with two more black wires coming out of the other two bundles coming out of the back of the box.All the white wires are twisted together with a red cap. All of the copper wires are twisted together with another red cap.My motion sensor has a red, black, green and yellow wire. The directions say the yellow wire is not used, because this is not a 3-way light. Is there a straightforward way to do this?
Sure is!. You wire it exactly the way the instructions say to. Which is to use the 2 wires on the existing switch. The bare wire on the switch (if present) is the ground and goes to the green. Just like the instructions say. You are apparently letting all those other wires scare you. The motion sensor is nothing more than an automatic switch. It does the same thing the existing switch does, using the exact same wires. Do Not touch any of the existing splices. Look again at the instructions. Take a deep breath and have at. I've been in control cabinets with Hundreds of wires in them. I ignored all but the ones I need to work on. Other wise I would still be there trying to figure it out! (chuckle)
Q:I have 4 gauge wiring ground and power cables, as well as a smaller guage wiring that is colored grey. I have the amp hooked up to the gound and power, how do I connect the sub to the amp?The subs is a 08 L7 in the kicker truck box wired to 2 ohms. The amp is the Alpine PDX 1.600.
take (i use 12 gauge wire on my sub installs) 16-14 gauge wire and hook up the positive on the amp to the red terminal on the sub and negative to the black one. I'm not really sure what you need exactly
Q:I plugged in my new Pioneer DEH-P6500it worked for a little bit until i moved it around a littlethe speakers started to go out but the subs still sounded finei messed around with it and found the wire responsible for it allits a red wireit says AAC or somethingif i messed with the copper twist the speakers would come in and outi stripped the wire a little and put it back together but now the head unit wont even turn onand im also left with like 2 inches of red wireis my only option to get a new pioneer wire harness?what is the problem?the red wire i think supplies the power to the whole head unit because when its not connected, the whole thing turns onbut only the speakers go on and off when i messed with itbut it wont turn on anymore
The red wire is the ignition wire. There are two wires that supply power to your head unit. One is the yellow wire which is a constant source of power. This keeps all your settings on the radio and the clock. The red wire is used to switch on your head unit. When you turn on your car the wire gets power and turns your head unit on. First, like said before, make sure the wire is getting power by checking fuses. There should be one in the head unit and one in your car's fuse panel. If that is not it then you will want to see if the wire is split somewhere. An easy way to check if the wire is getting power is if you have a DMM (digital multimeter). Then just check if there is voltage in the wire. Your car must be on to check this though. Good Luck!!! Edit: DMMs are cheap, you can get one for around $15. They have even cheaper ones if you get it at Harbor Freight.
