Q:I am doing a power point project for my business class in college. Was told to pick a company in the financial service area. For my part of the project I need to create a slide on the weaknesses of chase bank. What could cause chase to fall? What are some areas it is lacking? Etc. etc.
They deal in volume banking. They just want as many accounts as they can get, its all quantity and no quality. Poor customer service compared to other banks. Higher fees than other banks. Less one on one service, no personal bankers on personal checking. Long lines, because they have to few workers inside. Usually 1 person in the drive thru and the bank at the location I go to, its horrible
Q:CITI-BANK,CHASE MANHATTAN,BANK OF AMERICA,for those who couldn't pay their credit cards.
You know, the Federal government has all the power in the world because they already have the ability to freeze any US citizen's bank account. If they actually come to OWN the banks, it would seem well within their power to do just like you suggest. It scares me how much power this government is gaining.
Q:I see many computer UPS out in the market, but do UPS meant for whole houses exist? I live in a small town, and we have brownouts often, lasting for a split second up to 20 seconds at a time. A lot of our electronics get messed up 'coz of this. We also have a back-up generator. Is there a way to connect the generator to the UPS so that if we get a blackout lasting for hours at a time, we have time to turn on the generator without power dying.
Critical commercial and government facilities, like hospitals and air traffic control centers, have power systems that combine back-up battery banks with generators (usually diesel powered) to provide continuous power. These systems are custom engineered for each facility. No doubt one could be built for a residential application, but it would be expensive.
Q:I'm 18 years old now, and I need to learn about the fundamentals of banking. Is there a site that can easily explain all aspects of banking there I need to know?My family seems to enjoy having power over my money and bank savings, and I want to know how I can shift these things.
I recommend a local or regional bank instead of a huge nationwide bank. They're easier to develop a working relationship with they can make exceptions to the rules set by the home office. They live and work where you live and work. Wells Fargo is the LAST place I would go.
Q:If you are going to build a solar dish using photovoltaic cells to power a 40,000 homes, would you use a utility grid or battery bank?
Solar dishes are not used to drive photovoltaic cells. You collect the solar radiation direct on the photocells. And usually feed that power to a battery bank for storage until needed. Solar dishes concentrate the solar energy to be used either to warm water ( for heating ) or to boil water, for electricity production, which again is usually stored in battery banks. For large scale ( 40,000 homes is large ) it might make sense to store the energy as GPE in a high level lake ( called pumped storage ) or as molten salt and you would then need a grid to distribute the energy to those who need it. Note that the grid itself does not store any energy, so the choice you are given , grid , or battery bank, doesn't make sense. They do not do the same job.
Q:95 v6 3.8 5 speed lost a lot of power and acceleration pulled codes and I have a bad 02 sensor misfire on bank one and Maybe a vacuum leak if I remember correctly but I just replaced the plugs and wires and it's still running bad also it rattles when I crank it up and sometimes at idle. I want my car back! Could it be the o2 sensor or fuel pump maybe?
I seen this happen before and it would have a bad fuel injector that caused it to misfire.
Q:Any rescue plan should also be designed to ensure that taxpayers are protected. It should welcome the participation of financial institutions, large and small. It should make certain that failed executives do not receive a windfall from your tax dollars.

Q:If I put $10K cash in a local bank, is that bank allowed to transfer that money to the Federal Reserve and use it as M0 or high powered money and thereby invoke the money multiplier to loan out a multiple of this original money?
Short answer: No (in terms of does your bank deposit add to M0) Longer answer: M0 (the monetary base) is only change when the Fed creates money out of thin air (usually) by buying T-Bill, or destroying money by (usually( selling T-Bills The deposit multiplier is in effect when your bank loans money from your deposit, which may be redeposited, then reloaned, and so forth. Money that your bank transfer to the federal reserve does not affect either M0 or M1 or M2
Q:I have a Power of Attorney, signed by my husband in 2001, which I used for buying/selling homes, cars, filing income tax, etc. No problems. Should I be able to use it for banking matters (separate accounts), or has it expired? He's not available, due to jail, and keeps telling me that it is still good. The bank doesn't seem to think so.It's our money, in his account!
It all depends on what type of Power of Attorney you have. There durable and non-durable. He is correct when he says there is no expiration date, but like one other person who answered your question, I would be hesitant if it was five years old. If he is incarcerated he can get another P of A free of charge by requesting it with inmate services. Perhaps you might suggest that to him and that would solve the problem of it not being accepted at some places. Another option would be to record it with the county and use a certified copy. That might help.
Q:I see people on here ranting about big government on the basis that the government doesn't look out for our interests. These same people have no problem with large banks becoming even more rich and powerful along with those who own the banks, when these wealthy few have proven time and time again they don't care about he public. These wealthy elites (corporate executives) own 99% of the wealth in this country. Why do you believe they are trustworthy and why should they own it all?Isn't that bad for small businesses that support local economies?read before answering
