Q:Just wondering if anyone knows a product that will loosen carpet glue without ruining the finish on a terrazzo floor... the previous owners of our house covered up the terrazzo with carpeting and glued down the padding... not a lot of glue, but enough for me to say bad words, and I'd really like to take some of the carpeting out, but can't afford to have someone else come in to refinish the terrazzo at this point...Anyway, does anyone know of anything I could use?
complicated one that. Any solvent which will dissolve the glue will additionally dissolve the adhesive protecting the fibre glass jointly. Is it an animal based glue? The scent often supplies that away, form of a fishy scent, like Copydex. i think of the terrific guess is probably a mechanical answer, i.e. scraping it off with a great blade. you may get particular the type to scrape glass sparkling of glue that would desire to artwork.
Q:how do I crochet an oval rug for my bathroom?
Try okorder web site. There you will find tons of ideas and how 2's! Have fun!
Q:Well ,I am staying in san jose.I wanted to buy a 5'x 8' rug for my living room.My budget is $130 -$180.I'm looking for easy maintainance, good looking, easy cleaning. Also, when i sit on rug,the rug should not go down for 1 inch- 2inch1 uld u suggest where to buy in bay area. Can i buy JC Penny.?2.Also,what type of material should i buy?3.What are all the factors should i think in mind before buying it?Thanks
you okorder . you get and idea os styles out there. pls keep in mind any photo will not give any idea what the rug will actually look like on your floor. Many rugs have a cat surface such that they have a different shade looking from the two ends. So look for that if the rug has it or not. The two shades can be dramatically different. This is especially true for hand-knotted rugs, which you are not buying now but maybe in future. IKEA and JCPenney would be good. Discount flooring stores may have a bigger selection. Macy's and furniture stores nylon is the best for easy maintenance. Look for the size and the lenght of the fibers - when you bend a corner down towards the underside, the rolled edge should have a fairly thick set of fibers sticking out - if not the rug will not hold up under traffic. You can learn more about rugs on these website. A decent nylon rug with a spot-hiding pattern usually will last for as long as your upholstered furniture.
Q:What is the Pearl carpet, what is the Pearl carpet
Three types: A, Fine pearl carpets(there is pearl powder on surface and it's smooth and delicate) B, Piece pearl carpets(there are particles and the surface color is more bright and glossy) C. Glazing pearl carpets( put a layer of glue on the original surface, the surface is smooth and drops chip)
Q:I have a 1 yr old Male, fixed, cat. He's never given me ANY problems. except lately he's been urinating on the bathroom rug.. Well, it sounds worse than it really is.. he did it once, then I washed the rug.. it was clean for a day.. then he peed on it once again. There are NO other cats in the house, the litter box IS in the bathroom. I can not scold him or correct the behavior because of the amount of time lapsed when he's gone on the rug. So he wouldn't know what he's being corrected for ( I was in Dog training) This is his only vice. :( Please help!
hmm is it a rug around the toliet? if you have males in the house who miss their intended target it could be the cat pickin up on that scent and marking thinking there is another cat around.
Q:do you perfer wood floor or carpet for a bedroom... i have wood but i think i want carpet?
I would stick with the hardwood flooring and get a rug for the area. This will allow a better look, plus the ability to change the look of the room quickly and easily when you want. Besides, carpet is basically disposable, stains and gets dirty, no matter how much you get is cleaned. The hardwood floor is easier to keep and clean. If you cover the floor then change your mind later, you might have to do something to the hardwood floor to bring it back. The area rug will provide the warmth and texture/softness you are seeking.
Q:I spilled China Glaze's quot; For Audrey quot; on my CARPET . HELP . BIG TIME .
The person above me is correct with nail polish remover.. but if that doesn't work, window cleaner works wonder as well :)
Q:It's like a Persian rug (much less expensive--a rustic rug for our lodge-style home that's perfect as a wallhanging, but we want to hang the rug like a tapestry using velcro against a velcro-stapled board (as they do in museums). The problem is that the weaving is so virtually impenetrable that I'm breaking needles, fraying thread, creating callouses, dying a slow death :-) This will take me next to forever. There must be a better way than doing this by hand. Or, am I simply using the wrong equipment? I'm using curved upholstery needles, thimbles, upholstery thread (the thread often frays or comes out of its knot!), pliers (for the intense pushing of the needles through the shield-like rug backing. Please help!I just need to sew a two-inch strip that's about 6 ft. in length, but I've spent half a day sewing about 3 inches!
Yes, you could crochet it directly onto the top of the bag (by poking small holes in the fabric and crocheting stitches into these holes...that's what the other kind responder was talking about, I believe) OR you can whip-stitch (over and over) the trim onto the top of the bag by hand OR you could even zig-zag it on the machine. This last would be strong, although it might not look as attractive as neat hand-stitching. The hand stitching might also be easier to remove if the trim ever frayed and you wanted to replace it.
Q:I recently threw up over a large area of my carpet. I have already removed the vomit but now I must remove the smell. I have used a mixture of vinegar, water, and soap, this seems to be working but I then used a pet odor remover to finish the job. I plan on vacuuming cleaning and adding the carpet foam and baking soda over the area. Should I do that? Do u guys have any suggestions to remove the vomit smell from the carpet? Thank you.
Trying using laundry soap. Mix hot water and laundry soap scrub area than use clean hot water to scrub up area than vacuum up with a shop vac. I think it works well. Or if you want to get something at the store get Rug Doctor's Pet spray. It works great on smells and stains. All you do is spray the area than put a wet warm rag on it and leave it over night while it drys. Good luck!!
Q:A piece of paper caught on fire, fell on the carpet, I put the fire out and it burned the carpet and the paper melted into the carpet. Using soap and alcohol, I got rid of most of the blackness, but the parts where it's actually burned is still black. How can I get rid of this mark? Would using bleach work?
