Q:I acquired enough used carpeting (good quality) to redo my whole house, but have no padding. The padding I currently have is 30 years old,as is my current carpet. Also wondering, what is carpet crease?
You need padding. The carpet will wear better and it will be more comfortable to walk on. Padding is inexpensive compared to the carpet and worth upgrading to at least a medium grade. I'll let someone who is an expert on carpeting answer about carpet crease! It sounds like it's where carpet has been folded, not rolled. Doesn't sound good if its been creased a while.
Q:why do linoleun floors yellow with area rugs?
Chemical reaction between the rubber backing and the linoleum, some of the antioxidants used in the latex or rubber backing compound are of the 'staining' type (which are generally amine- or sulfur-containing) and could easily migrate to the residual unsaturation in your linoleum.
Q:So last night i was painting my nails and i got some nail polish on my carpet and i cant get it out. Please help.
This has happened to me quite a lot. What I used, was fantastik cleaner and sprayed the spot then I let it soaked in. then I left a paper towel over the spot to clear up the polish. If that doesn't work, you could try putting nail polish remover on a towel and soak up the area with that.
Q:Hi! Were purchasing new carpet for our mobile home. They sell a pad to for an extra cost. Never bought carpet before. Is the pad something we really need? Thank you
Yes, you need new pad. Think of carpet pad as the foundation for your carpet....the stronger the foundation, the more durable what's above it. The better the pad, the longer your carpet will last. You can put an inexpensive carpet on a good pad, and have the carpet last longer than an expensive carpet on a cheap pad. I usually recommend and 8 pound 7/16 pad, but if money is tight, don't go with anything less than a 6 pound 7/16.
Q:i live in a house on a college campus, and after all the parties and everything, the floors tend to get dirty. my white shag area rug is right by my door, so a lot of dirt has been tracked onto it and it's starting to look gray and isn't fluffy anymore. i love my rug, is there any way to save it?
Set your vacuum on the highest pile setting, the one that sets the brushes the furthest from the floor. If your vacuum does not come with different settings, make the best of the setting you’re forced to use. Vacuum away. Shag works best with short, back and forth motions to pull the pile up as much as possible and avoid the vacuum getting stuck and smelling like it's about to burst into flames. Work your way with the vacuum left to right across the floor and, for good measure, go back over it in the perpendicular direction. Disconnect the vacuum hose and use the open tube to suck up dirt. Place the hose’s nozzle straight down into the carpet, methodically covering the entire area. This is a lengthy process but you will be amazed at how much dirt, grime and other disgusting stuff you are able to extract from the shag when you sit down and really concentrate. This does not have to be done often unless your carpet gets very heavy wear. A couple of times each year should do the trick.
Q:i dyed my hair black, got hair dye on the carpet.. how do i get it out?
Try a soap vaccuum thing. I cant remember what they're called, but if u cant find one or dont want to waste money on it then, have you tried scrubbing it with some cheap carpet cleaner.
Q:What is the sole and sole of the carpet? What's the difference?
Description: double bottom double bottom is in the back bottom chenille and a layer of anti-skid plastic cloth, in addition to anti slip effect
Q:OK, my pet pooped on the carpet, didn't notice it for awhile. It dried, I picked it up, vacuumed the carpet as well as I could, sprinkled a little (not too much) baking soda into the carpet and rubbed in it. Then I put diluted vinegar (half and half with water) in a container and soaked a paper towel, wrung it out and scrubbed the carpet with it. I didn't use a whole lot of vinegar, about half a cup solution (which would be 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 of water) for an area the size of a large cutting board.I plan on leaving it overnight and in the morning scrubbing it out with a bit of water - will the vinegar harm the carpet in the meantime or am I OK? Nothing was put sopping on the carpet - the paper towel was just damp.

Q:What color carpet can match with wood floor
If it is the bedroom, smoky-grey or silver-grey are all-matched, blue, but according to the usual situation, if it's sofa, grey is recommended, suggest matching according to the overall atmosphere of the bedroom, purple
Q:Every inch of the carpet is soaked!
If it's that soaked, it will all have to come up anyway. If it was a decent carpeting job, it will have a foam underpadding and that will be soaked as well. Don't know where you're at, but around here we have a company called Servpro that handles such problems, even works with your insurance company to help get it paid for. There may be wicking occurring with the wall coverings as well, if there's drywall involved. I'd suggest looking in the yellow pages for a fire/flood restoration company that could help.
