Q:I've wanted an industrial/scaffold piercing for ages! My mum is finally looking into letting me have it done. Any advice about it? How can I hide it for school? What's the healing time? :) thank you for any feed back.: Most piercings need 6 months to fully heal. Industrial will take up to a year to do so. You have to keep the jewelry in and do not take it out ( not even once ) for the whole period of 1 year. This means that you can't hide it for school. You can't put a retainer on also, cause only titanium or stainless steel material are proper for an open wound aka a new piercing. This piercing is not easy to heal and can stay irritated for long. It goes through cartilage and you have to be really careful with the aftercare and the piercer's info if you want to keep the piercing and yourself healthy. You have to be careful and not touch it or play with it and twist it or take it out. You clean this piercing with sea salt soaks or non alcohol antibacterial soap 2-3 times a day. You dry it with paper towels. If you can do the above daily and be extra careful go get it done. Gluck

Q:i got my scaffold done quite a while ago and it still really hurts and is all lush and crusty,loli know it takes agessss to heal but could i take it out and put normall small earrings in each whole instead? Which would i have to use? thanks: in my opinion you should ride it out and just clean it more often. not only will the piercings give you trouble if you try to change the earring now, the piercings themselves will move slightly and you won't be able to put an industrial bar back through it. if you can live with these go through with it, if not, wash often, rotate the bar constantly and avoid sleeping on it and getting your hair caught up in it. like you said, piercings in the cartilage are very sensitive and need time and nurturing so that they can heal properly.

Q:i had my scaffold piercing done in the summer holidays and wen i went back to school (currently in my last year) they told me to take it out so i had to go back to the piercer. They changed the bar to two clear retainers in the holes so they wouldn't heal, now it hurts all the time and is red with a bubble on the top of my ear, any suggestions as to what i should do? :/: regularly clean it with salty lukewarm water and cover it up with tape

It appears to me that the scaffolding would always remain at rest. Would there always be a ΣF=0 regardless of the amount of workers? As the decreases in weight from removing a worker would also cause the tension force to be weaker? And vice versa if there were more workers?I: You are correct so long as the scaffolding is not allowed to move. I.e. the cables suspending it are locked and not unwinding from their spools as more workers get on. More weight added would necessarily increase the tension in this type of case. However, if, when another worker got on and the tension could not increase for what ever reason, a downward acceleration would take place that is proportional to the worker's weight.
