- Q:Okay so yesterday i mixed dawn soap and water together and scrubbed the spots on my floor to get these crusty spots that were left on my carpet from the carpet cleaner. the crusty spots went away but in their place small spots (smaller than the crusty resdue from before.) were left over and they were now sticky! I than tried washing off those spots with anti bacterial wipes which didn't do anythign, i vaccumed my floor twice and today i used a combination of baking soda and vingar to get it ou of my floor. Now i have merely one or two small spots but im aware carpet cleaner is rather toxic and hazardous and so I wanted to ask if it's truly carpet cleaner resdue stuck to my floor or if it's simply the dawn soap that won't come out. Please help for I am rather worried.
- Dawn soap is likely the culprit if it's sticky. Dish soap, especially dawn, has heavy sudsing agents in it. If you have an extractor carpet machine, go over it several times with plain water, and it should come out. Don't add any more chemicals to it. You are just adding to the problem. Depending on how strong the soap solution was, you got work ahead of you if you don't have the carpet extractor.
- Q:I have a dark green carpet, and somehow it got a lighter stain on it. Is there any way to die it back? It's just a normal type of carpet, nothing fancy.
- If you want your carpets to take on a new look and don't want to spend the money to replace them you should consider carpet dye. It's a low cost alternative that will give your carpet a total face lift. Many types of carpets can be dyed including Polyester, polypropylene, and acrylic cannot be dyed by normal carpet dyers however at ausis we have developed a special system to enable the ability to dye these and your other furnishings as close to your desired colours as possible. The current colour of your carpet will determine what colour you can dye your carpet. For example if your carpet is red and yellow dye and you would get an orange carpet. White and light beige carpet can be dyed any colour but only a few extra coats can you get a deep black however it obviously costs more. - If it's latex paint there are products that will remove paint from carpet safely. Go to where you bought the paint see what they recomend. Goof Off will loosen latex paint, but try some in a corner or under some furniture to see how it efects the carpet.

- I have found that Goo Gone works well, but also have used NON-acetone nail polish remover for stuff like that too. Be patient and let it work a minute before you start picking at it. It might take a couple of applications to do it right. Don't use acetone on carpet or it will melt it!!

- The problem will be the edges, unless you are talking about carpeting the whole room. If it is just a rug, cut it carefully, and then bring it to a specialty shop to have the edges sewn. Any high quality rug store should be able to direct you there.
