Q:My ex landlord is charging me pro-rated costs to replace the entire carpet. While I don't think the carpet needs to be replaced, they said they couldn't get all the carpet installed before the new tenant moved in that they will replace the carpet upon the exit of the new tenant, whenever that may be. Can the legally do that? They've sent me receipts for the carpet cleaning have deducted the pro-rated amount to replace all the carpet. FYI I moved out the end of June, they sent me estimates the end of July now in January they've just sent me the invoices, I asked, for the work they completed, the new tenant moved in-in August.

Usually they have time frame within which they have to bill you.

Q:For now, I have carpet just lay on top of the the old low carpet that the mobile home came with. it is sort of quick fix so cleaning is easier and the walking feel better. Is it okay to do that? The old low carpet underneath is ugly and have dirty feel to it, but I don't know if I should pull it up and replace the floor with vinyl flooring? My kitchen came with the vinyl flooring so I figure it is okay to pull the old carpet up and install it? Also, I don;t know if I should really pull the old carpet up or not, since I have no experiment in this. please answer, thanks in advance

Most mobile homes do not have quality carpeting. If you decide to remove it, start in a corner to make sure it isn't glued down instead of using tack strips. If glued, you will not have a quick fix.

Q:I used one of those machines to clean a rug and it's left it all streaky. I want to start again when it's dry and not using the machine..so can anyone tell me what carpet cleaner to use or has any tips or suggestions. Any help appreciated. How do you clean your rugs/carpets?

sometimes you have to make multiple passes with the machine. If you rent another, make sure to clean it out before starting. Most people don't clean them when they return them. It's best to get a pro to do it, like Stanly

Q:I want the Rambo turnout lite in a 5ft or a 5ft 3, but whenever I contact an intenet seller about this, they say that Rambo rugs only go down to a 5ft 6. Is this true? If so, it is very stupid. Especially as Rambo rugs are such a large fit. My horse is meant to be a size 5ft 9, but he's wearing the Rambo lite in a size 5ft 9 right now and it is hanging off him, I measured it and it's 9 inches too long.

don't get a rambo rug then :) they obviously don't have the size for your horse. some brands don't e.g. they have only small sizes for ponies and some will have only large sizes for horses. rambo isn't the only brand of rug out there, and it's not the best either (in my opinion)

Carpet retailers that do carpet for hotels can get a certain design made for a carpet, but for the most part you ve to stick with a certain size and have it fitted to the room. Generally this is 12 and 15 ft widths. With the occasional 13' 6 rolls. GL

Q:The carpets in a house we placed an offer on are ick. Well they don't smell and most of the stains I think will clean out but they eventually need to be replaced. But due to other costs we have to address first we want to clean them. Is calling a professional steam cleaner the best way to go? Does steam cleaning really do a good job? We have shampood carpets before with horrible results.

steam cleaning does a good job. sometimes the companies will have specials,like $99 for 24x24 room and they move the furniture ting one with the shampoo will be about $50

Q:How do I get blush (as in makeup) out of my carpet. My cat was crawling on my desk and now I have some in my carpet. My dad is going to kill me if he sees this. can anyone suggest anything?

you might just try soap and water...even a little liquid detergent...not too much...it soaps up pretty quickly...i use an old wash cloth with a little water and then add the soap to it....keep rubbing..then add more water if its too soapy...hopefully it will come out....if it comes out to your liking then keep blotting the area with paper towels to absorb the moisture.......good luck what ever method you find...........

Carpet comes in 12 and 15 ft goods for the most part, there are some 13.5 ft wide too. Federal law mandates it be sold by the s/f but some places will tell you the s/y price to give you an idea ( people still use it as a comparison) To find a supplier near you just type in a carpet brand name and they all have a store locator to guide you to a store near you. example/ Mohawk , Shaw etc

Q:spill candle wax on my carpet and wont come off...

Be careful and this might just get most of it up: Take several paper towels and put them over the wax. Now rub a very warm but not supper hot clothing iron over the paper towels. This will warm the wax while it is being absorbed into the towel. Repeat with clean paper towels until you are satisfied that you have removed all you can.

If they fit in the machine than i guess they are machine washable if not then hand scrub, i think it just means you can get them soaking wet and they wont be damaged so if you wanted to wash them you can, however way you do it
