Q:Why would my cats use my area rugs for the bathroom?
Area rugs tend to feel like grass. Thus, a good place to go to the bathroom. They will also retain the smell of urine. My cats tend to have this problem when they are feeling neglected. It usually happens when no one is home for awhile. You come home to find their offerings! A little more attention to clean litter boxes and more individual attention stopped the problem. Good luck!
Q:Carpet cleaning products?
Try this put a tiny pit of dish soap in bucket of warm water saturate spot. then rinse and blot. then make a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water saturate and rinse and blot and let dry. I know it sound difficult but it doesn't take long and works great on spots and animal accidents. I used it to clean up the accidents when housebreaking our dog and there is no more smell or spots.
Q:good adhesive for rugs?
You can get rug hold from your local hardware store and it should not cost that much. Add the rug hold. If the crease stays, boil a kettle, do not drench it, but dribble a bit on the backing of the carpet that is creased after removing the rug hold. Put some weight on it and leave for a few hours. When the crease has gone, re-appy the rug hold and it should be fine. Good luck Joe Kelly Kingsland floors
Q:Wat materials are there for carpets?
Generally, it's polypropylene. There are also nylon, wool and blended yarn that are of good quality for carpets.
Q:A way to recover a natural fiber rug that got soaking wet?
Absorbent Pads, lots of air flow, and a little Lysol spray on moldy areas, great homemade mold killer,2 teaspoons tea tree oil 2 cups water. Combine in a spray bottle, shake to blend, and spray on problem areas.Do not rinse.
Q:Is there a way to bleach/dye carpet?
This is a maybe, maybe not answer. Any carpet with stain protection is very very hard to change the color of. If you have a low price builder grade carpet it will be easier to dye. The better quality carpet will be harder to change the color of. The stain protector will prevent the dye from getting into the fiber. After all, a stain is just a carpet dyed the wrong color. To dye a stain protected carpet the carpet must be over 150 degrees hot, hard to do in a home. You will need to call several carpet dyers to get a real answer. Its expensive almost as much as getting a new carpet. Be sure to check the warranties they have. Dyed carpet colors can track off to adjoining floors and home dyed carpets tend to fade fast.
Q:why do you rug a stabled horse?
The primary reason for putting a rug on a horse is to keep them warm over night. If it is winter, a rug is definitely recommended when stalling over night, as movement is restricted and therefor so is the heat being produced. A lot of people will rug a horse over night if they are bathing for a show. A lot of people don't want to bath the day of the show, and so they bath the night before and rug to keep the horse clean if they choose to lay down. Rugs are also used if a horse had a hard workout in the evening, again to keep them warm over night. Once the sweat cools and dries, the horse may get a chill without a rug, although it's not a huge concern unless the horse had a really hard workout and sweat really hard. I tend to use a rug at night if there are a lot of flies in the barn. It keeps them off without having to use gallon after gallon of fly spray. I also use a rug as just an extra layer of padding, so to speak. I give the stall a look over of course and remove sharp or pointy objects, however if a potentially dangerous object has been missed, the rug will provide a little added protection, and it will rip before your horse's skin. Hope this helps a little!
Q:Would you hire a college student to clean your home carpet?
No . . as carpet cleaning is more than some kid coming in with a hopper and spritzing soap . . a good carpet cleaner understands what he's doing to carpets and fabrics and understands stains and how to get them out correctly. A kid just knows how to fill the hopper and push the wand.
Q:carpet cleaning solution?
I'm not certain whether you are asking what to put in a steam cleaning machine or what you can use to clean it without using a steam machine. So, I'll answer both ways. If you want to use the cheapest means possible to clean carpet, remove odors and get down to the padding, a steam cleaner with 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar will do it. Otherwise, use the detergent and solutions recommended for the type of machine you have or rent. If you want to clean the carpet without a machine, you have a couple of choices both are not expensive. You can use dry carpet cleaning granules, Resolve and Capture both make them. You just sprinkle them down, agitate into the fibers with a brush on a stick, let it dry and vacuum it up. Or you can use a foaming cleaner, like Woolite or Scotchguard Foaming Carpet Cleaners, use a damp mop to work it in and a brush to treat stains, allow that to dry and vacuum.
Q:Remove carpet in mobile home ?
I would definitely remove the old carpet just because of the fact you said it feels dirty...carpet can collect all kinds of allergens and even make some people sick. Especially if there were pets in the house previously. For your health, remove the old carpet. As others suggested, there are options for you to lay the carpet w/ glue/tack strips. Also, Home Depot sometimes offers free carpet installation...you can see if you qualify.
