Q:I am wanting to purchase a carpet shampooer, but I'm not sure which one would be the best.I could use some input on this. Thanks!
Don't okorder / this is the best easiest way to keep great looking carpets. You can rent the machine that brushes the product in and then you vacuum it. th machine doesn't cost too much to rent and the results are fabulous. I kept my carpets looking like new for 10 years. When I sold my home people couldn't believe it wasn't new carpeting. Also great for allergies.
Q:I'm trying to find a bright sky blue rug that's about 3 feet by 5 feet. Hopefully for less than 50 bucks?

Q:How do I avoid over-charge by the carpet company as a reuslt of over-measure the room size? I have two rooms, room I is 10'6'' by 29'2quot;. Room II size is 11'8quot; by 12' 10quot;, with a closet size 7' by 2'4quot;. The carpet comes in width of 12'. How many sq ft do I need to order the carpet for room I and room II? For room I, the carpet size, without adding any buffer space for edge trimming, is 12' * 29'2quot; = 356 sq ft. For room II, the carpet size, without adding any buffer space for edge trimming, is 12' * 12'10quot; = 154 sq ft. The room II closet is 12 * 2'4'' = 28 sq ft. How many add'l sq ft do I need to add to allow buffer for trimming in each room? ThanksSM
It depends on which wall the closet is on as far as the run if it needs a seam or not. Basically for the 2 rooms you need approx 504 sf (12 x 42) plus the closet which will be 12 x 2.5 or 30 sf. This is approx, but you can't get carpet that exact simply because it comes in 12' width's. So you are looking at 534 or 535 sf. As the guy says below, you can figure on about a 5% waste factor.
Q:I need to clean a spot of urine from our oriental rug (from Dubai). It may have been a day old when I discovered it. I soaked up as much as I could with a paper towel but it has left a slight stain.
The guy at the store where I bought my oriental rug said to lift up the rug and put a large bowl under it, and then wet it thoroughly with water with a little dish soap in it. If that's not enough to get the stain out, go to a pet store and ask for an enzyme cleaner. this stuff really works, but you have to keep it wet. Once it's clean and your rinse with clear water, blot out as much water as you can and let it dry. It's best to let air circulate underneath as well as on top.
Q:What about the Muenster carpet?
The carpets of Muenster and Wilton are woven carpets, which are arranged in the fabric structure as the base of the carpet. Two kinds of carpet are raw
Q:what are the principles of carpet matching?
Not easy to clean, but the living room area is not too large. The irregular shaped carpet is suitable to put under the single chair. wool carpets and silk carpets are the best selections, and now hay can be woven into the carpet, synthetic fiber or synthetic leather has also been widely used, but nylon. Living room is the most frequent place to move around, which has negative impact on health. the out door of the bathroom is more suitable with a small rectangular or oval block carpet, and even bamboo fiber. The indoor corridor is usually laying rectangular channel carpet, moderate blank in the space will make the room more spacious visually. carpet materials are more and more diversified, in addition to artificial materials. In addition, these carpets are easy to store dirt, so don't choose the carpets that are too big, especially when the chair and sofa are different styles. corn fiber. If you want to put a carpet under the sofa. If you consider the comfort and texture, the best choice is wearproof carpet which can highlight the chair itself. the spatial pattern must be considered first. if it at the door, the carpet color should in dark.
Q:I used RESOLVE High Traffic Carpet Cleaning Kit a few months ago. I didn't think it even worked, but to my dismay, I believe it has made my carpet dirtier. I probably should have tried getting some of the soap up, but I had no idea that leaving soap (even if the directions tell you that you only need to vacuum) that it could lead to the stains sticking more.So now, the areas that I used the product on have turn one shade away from black (we have white carpet).I just used a Bissell carpet steamer and the whole area looks the same!WHAT DO I DO?!I fear a professional won't be able to get it out either...
once you've a nail polish stain on your carpet, drop fairly of water on it ,and then take the cap to a bottle of nail polish remover, pour some contained in the remover contained in the cap. Then pour the remover on the stain and scrub it not undemanding with a towel, which could get the stain out, you may do an similar for makeup.
Q:We've only lived in our brand new home for 1.5 years, and our carpet already has light patches! The carpet is that annoying tanish color that stains way easily, and it's stock manufactured home carpet, so it's not so great to begin with. A few weeks ago, I noticed a light patch in an area that would hardly ever be stepped on, even by our dogs. I don't think I've ever had to shampoo that area, except for in the summer when we had a guy shampoo the whole house. I decided to shampoo our carpets during Xmas break, and I'd barely begun when I noticed 2 more light patches! I highly doubt it's from our carpet cleaner. We use the same stuff the carpet guy used, and we've used it dozens of times without any problems. I decided to just let our carpet be dirty rather than risk any more damage, just in case. Ever had problems like this? I read a little about carpet dyes. Any experience?
If your home is a double wide (or larger), and you did not order it direct from the factory, then there is a good chance it sat on the dealer's lot for some time...and its possible some sunlight was allowed in thru the marriage wall. The marriage wall usually just has a layer of plastic over it for transport...some dealers leave it on while the home is on their lot, and some don't. Even a small hole in the plastic can result in a large faded area if it was facing the sun. (Some homes will sit on a dealerships lot for a year or so, before they are sold....plenty of time for the sun to cause some fading) There is also the possiblity that your cleaning chemicals did cause some fading....they all come with a warning to 'spot check' a section to see if they will cause any fading, before you are to use them all over the carpet. Since you mention dogs in the home, pet urine could also be a factor. And of course, there is always the chance that you just got a bad quality carpet to begin with. Different manufacturers use varying quality of carpet. Some are pretty good. Some are pretty cheap. A lot of the carpet being made today is synthetic...(some even use recycled plastic). Things like nail polish (or remover), or 'kool-aid' (its actually the sugar in the drink that does the damage) can actually alter the fibers chemically. Bleach dripped on the carpet will do the same, even if it is wiped up immediately. If a rag has been used to clean with bleach, or acetone (an ingredient found in most nail polish removers) is dropped on the carpet, or used when damp to wipe the carpet, it will cause the carpet to fade. If the carpet is in good shape, physically... little wear and tear, no holes, etc... then you may want to just have a professional come in to dye the carpet. Usually, this costs less than replacing the carpet, but get some quotes for replacing it too. Good Luck
Q:I have several cats, but only recently she decided to do her job on my area rug, yet she'll tinkle in the litter box...Any answers as to how I can get her back into doing both in the litter box...
When you find out let me know! The same thing happend with my cat. He will poop on any mat or rug i buy. Now he just poops on the floor and wont poop in his box at all. We have tried EVERYTHING, but we love him and would never get rid of him so we have accepted it.
Q:Ok, i have a white area rug that has a few stains, nothing major.. I want to bleach it to not only get the stains out but i also love the smell of bleach, i bleach my blankets and my sheets every week. Im not really worried about ruining my rug, cause its not like its going to get any better. I know that you need to delute the bleach i just dont know how much to delute or how to go about cleaning the rug. Should i just poor it on or use gloves with a sponge and soak the areas?? Please help :) thanks!
Take the rug outside to your driveway. Clean a spot on your driveway (soap and water, brush and rinse). Place the rug on that spot. Dilute bleach 10:1. Use scrub brush with a handle. Scrub. Rinse with hose. Hang to dry.
