- Q:Thermostat has two red wires two black wires. The baseboard has one red one black wire.
- That thermostat is a two pole switch. (It opens both lines). Just follow the color codes. Your incoming 'line` might be a two wire run, (Black, White, + Gnd.). In this case just treat that white as a 'Line' wire, (Red). It Should be marked, but sometimes they don't do it. Black, (Line) to Black, T (Stat). Black (T Stat), to Black (Heater). Same for the Reds. The T Stat. should be marked 'Line' 'Load' if it matters with that unit. Some Cautions: 1. Don't try to work it 'live'. 2. If the line wires are black white, be sure that you have a 240V. circuit. -(Two pole breaker). 3. Coil your 'pigtails' (connecting wires), so that the insulation doesn't contact the hot parts of the heater.
- Q:im installing a line out converter on my 2006 avalnche and i need to know which wires go to the right and left rear speakers so i can install it, do you know which is wire goes to where?
- Avalanche Diagram
- Q:like lets i want to want to connect my speaker wires with other wires can i use elmer glue so that it sticks and will the wires still work?
- There are three methods i would use personally, glue is a terrible choice. 1. Easiest - Strip the two tips of the wire, Twist them like he stated and put electrical tape to keep the current inside and wires together. This works but the wires can slip with the slightest pull sometimes. 2. Medium but still easy - Purchase butt connections (least thats whati callem lol) - Basically its this Red/Yellow/ or blue, cylinder about an inch long and just a little thicker then the wire itself. The exterior is a plasitc like substance and the inside is a Metal tube. Strip both ends, stick them in and use a Wire Crimping tool to crimp both ends and i do the center of the connection. This gives you a secure connection with minial work. 3. More difficult - Soddering. You'll need a soddering gun and electrical tape for this and also is the best connection youll get when hooking to wires together. Strip both ends, Twine them together and then you use the soddering gun to bascially drip metal into the twisted wires connecting them forever, unless you cut them.
- Q:need to know how to properly wire this amp in a truck
- wow I have never heard of this amp until u mentioned it. the ratings seem good. ur best option would be to call sonic electronics have them send you a manual on how to wire this amp. they sell this amp. I mean u ask how to properly wire it. wire it to get power ? or to the woofers ? red wire + goes to your battery. black wire - goes to your ground (not your battery) to the frame of ur vehicle. then u need a blue wire, your remote this wire goes to ur stereo's remote wire it should be the same color or it will be marked. but if u do not know how to hook up an amplifier u should go to a professional shop due to the fact if u improperly hook ur amp up YOU CAN START A FIRE IN YOUR CAR.
- Q:the wires that are in most electric appliances
- Hot, neutral, and ground. black wire is hot (right side of outlet) --this is the one that can shock you. white wire is neutral( left side of outlet) green wire is ground(bottom side of outlet) when wiring an outlet black goes to gold screw, white goes to silver screw, and green goes to the ground(bottom) screw. remember black-gold white -silver green to ground the world around
- Q:I went to the craft store and bought some wire but it says stringing wire. Will that work? Also whats a good website to buy jewelry making supplies from?
- stringing wire is generally the best type for wire wrapping. i usually go with 22 gauge wire because it it good for small intricate designs and is easy to work with.
- Q:hey could anyone tell me from the stock am radio in my nissan 720 what wires are the constant (memory) power and the accessory (ignition) wire so i can attach these to my new radio
- The best way to find out is with a voltmeter, or a 12V lamp. Connect one end to ground (-), and the other to each wire. With power indicated while the ignition is off, you've fount the memory keep-alive line. With power only while the ignition is on, you've found the accessory line.
- Q:i have a 2002 pontiac sunfire where is my ground wire located? what does it look like?
- Ground wire for what?
- Q:installing whelen car strobe lights.the directions say to wire the power to the battery with wire that can hold 125% of the power
- Use 12 Ga. wire. However, do not wire directly to the battery, use a relay.
- Q:Live wire- bring current to appliancesNeutral wire- returns the current from the applianceMy question is, if we are using AC current, then in the next half cycle, the live wire will return the current from the appliance and the neutral wire will bring current to appliances. Am I right? If I’m right, then both wires have the same function why give them different names? Really appreciate your help.
- You are right technically. However, with AC, the convention is that the current always flows from the hot to the neutral. Yes, we know it reverses every half cycle, but for the convention, just consider it always flowing from the hot to neutral. The difference between the two wires is that the neutral is at ground potential, or within a few volts of it, whereas the hot is 120 or 240 volts away from ground. Another example, a 240 volts split phase power to an electric oven. In this case, there are two hot wires, each at a potential of 120 volts from ground or neutral, but opposite in phase, so the current flows from one hot to the other hot. Again, it reverses twice per cycle.
