Q:I just purchased this Benchmade knife with m390 steel blade and it cost me a fortune but I wanted to know if this new steel is a tool steel. what classifies a tool steel. M390 = 1.9 carbon, 20. chromium, .30 manganese, 1. molybdenum, .60silicon, .60 tugsten, 4. vanadium at 60-62 HRC
Which has better songs - Number Of the Beast Which has better riffs - British Steel Which has better solos - Number of The Beast Which has better vocals - Number of the Beast Which has a cooler cover - Number of the Beast Which do You prefer - This is a real thinker, almost like Sophies Choice Metal edition. But I have owned Number and the Beast longer than I have owned British Steel. So I go with Iron Maiden Both albums get a perfect 10 because they deserve it, both have great musicianship and both have great vocals
Q:What are the different methods of coil slitting for precision cuts?
There are several methods of coil slitting for precision cuts, including rotary slitting, loop slitting, and double knife slitting. Rotary slitting involves using a circular blade to cut through the coil, while loop slitting utilizes a looping mechanism to create tension and then cuts the coil with a straight blade. Double knife slitting, on the other hand, employs two blades that move in opposite directions to cut the coil. These methods enable precise and efficient cutting of coils into narrower strips for various industrial applications.
Q:How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of automotive hoods?
Steel coils are used in the manufacturing of automotive hoods as they are shaped and formed into the desired hood design. These coils are processed through various stages such as cutting, stamping, and welding to create the hood's structure. The strength and durability of steel make it an ideal material for automotive hoods, ensuring they can withstand impacts and provide protection to the engine compartment.
Q:Ik iron was too heavy but could steel bolts have been used. I can see iron dissolving at surface when to be a danger it needs to reach the core of sun.. But so does steel go deeper in(w.e alloy turned from iron)..I wanna know which would be worse iron..or upgraded iron(steel) and if the steel would have worse effects than normal iron..Im sure if we used iron we used steel
Steel might have been used in some bolts sure. But.....are you under the impression that Ulysses was ever intended to crash into the Sun or something? You know it wasn't right? It was launched (in the 1980's) to study the Sun. But....uh.....not by crashing into it. Ulysses was even sent out to use Jupiter as a gravitational assist. We are closer to the Sun than Ulysses is..... Even if it did go crash into the Sun though there is absolutely no way that ANY material, natural or manmade, could survive intact all the way to the core of a star. It takes photons of LIGHT something like 100,000 years just to make it out from the core of the Sun to the surface because it is so dense. How do you propose a metal probe making it back the other way? Would it have worse effects than what? The effects, no matter what it was made out of, would be that as it got CLOSE to the Sun it would vaporize. No matter what it was made out of though it would have no affect whatsoever on the Sun. Every single element, without exception, that exists on the Earth and everywhere else in our solar system also exists in the Sun already, in far greater quantities. The planets and Sun all formed out of the same nebula at the same time. The Sun just got massive enough that fusion began and it became a star. There is already more iron in the Sun than there is everything on Earth. If you took every single atom of every element there is on the Earth it would still not add up to even a fraction of the total amount of iron in the Sun.
Q:What are the different surface finishes of steel coils?
The different surface finishes of steel coils include mill finish, galvanized finish, painted finish, and coated finish.
Q:What are the common industry standards for steel coils?
Steel coils in the industry have varying standards depending on the region and specific use. However, there are widely accepted standards used in the steel industry. Among the most frequently used standards for steel coils is the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard. ASTM has created various specifications for different types of steel coils, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized coils. These specifications outline the mechanical and chemical properties that the steel must meet, as well as dimensions, tolerances, and testing requirements. Apart from ASTM, international organizations like the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the European Committee for Standardization (EN) have also established standards for steel coils. ISO standards, such as ISO 3574 and ISO 5952, offer guidelines for general requirements, dimensional tolerances, and mechanical properties of steel coils. Similarly, EN standards like EN 10130 and EN 10131 specify the characteristics and tolerances for cold-rolled steel coils. Moreover, industry-specific organizations and associations may have their own standards for steel coils. For instance, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has developed specific standards for various steel products, including coils. These standards cover aspects including chemical composition, mechanical properties, and surface finish. It's worth noting that steel coil standards can also be determined by the intended use. Industries like automotive, construction, and manufacturing may have specific requirements that surpass general standards. In such cases, customers and manufacturers may refer to industry-specific standards or collaborate to define custom specifications. In summary, while there are several common industry standards for steel coils, it is crucial to consult the specific standards and requirements applicable to the region and application in question to ensure compliance and quality.
Q:How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of industrial equipment?
Steel coils are commonly used in the manufacturing of industrial equipment due to their versatility and strength. These coils are typically made from high-quality steel and are shaped into a coil form to facilitate easy transportation and storage. One of the primary uses of steel coils in industrial equipment manufacturing is for the fabrication of structural components. These coils are often cut, shaped, and welded to create various parts and structures that provide support and stability to the equipment. For example, steel coils can be used to construct frames, beams, and brackets that form the backbone of heavy machinery. Steel coils are also used in the production of mechanical components such as gears, shafts, and bearings. These components require high strength and durability to withstand the heavy loads and harsh operating conditions encountered in industrial settings. By using steel coils, manufacturers can ensure that these parts have the necessary strength and resilience to perform reliably. Additionally, steel coils are employed in the manufacturing of equipment surfaces that require corrosion resistance or aesthetic appeal. Steel with specific coatings or finishes can be rolled into coils to create sheets or plates that are used to construct outer casings, panels, or covers for industrial equipment. These coatings not only protect the equipment from environmental factors but also enhance its appearance. Furthermore, steel coils can be transformed into pipes and tubes, which are vital components in many industrial applications. These pipes are used to transport various fluids, gases, or materials within the equipment. The strength and structural integrity of steel coils ensure that the pipes can withstand high pressure, temperature, and mechanical stress, making them suitable for demanding industrial environments. In conclusion, steel coils play a crucial role in the manufacturing of industrial equipment. They are used to fabricate structural components, mechanical parts, surface finishes, and pipes. The versatility, strength, and durability of steel coils make them a preferred choice in the industrial equipment manufacturing industry.
Q:What are the different types of steel coil storage systems?
There are several different types of steel coil storage systems, including coil racks, coil cradles, coil saddles, and coil bunks. Each of these systems is designed to safely and efficiently store steel coils in a warehouse or manufacturing facility. Coil racks are typically used for larger, heavier coils and have adjustable arms to accommodate different sizes. Coil cradles are used for smaller coils and provide a stable base for storage. Coil saddles are specifically designed to hold and transport coils with overhead crane systems. Coil bunks are used for storing large quantities of coils and provide a stacking system to maximize space utilization.
Q:What are the common methods of cutting steel coils?
The common methods of cutting steel coils include shearing, slitting, and laser cutting. Shearing involves using a machine with two blades to cut through the coil. Slitting involves passing the coil through a set of rotating circular blades to create narrower strips. Laser cutting uses a high-powered laser beam to cut through the steel coil with precision.
Q:I've seen commuters that ride fixed gear and the traditional pista bike with gears. Now, as I saw on the bianchi website that you can mount front and rear brakes on the bianchi steel pista bike and I want to use it to ride to water polo and school.I've rode the ghetto fixed gear bike but it has gotten small for me. It was an aluminum bike. How strong is the steel? Is the frame strong enough to handle 150 lbs? Will the fork break easily if I ride over some cracks? Has anyone ridden the bianchi steel bike and the fork broke? HELP?Thanks.P.S. Please don't comment how I shouldn't use a pista bike on the road, if I can mount brakes then it can be used for road purposes.
It will be fine as long as you don't use it for tricks.
