However, you can dig a pool using a skidsteer loader. You will need at least 5-6 feet of clearance for a skid steer. A backhoe will need closer to 9-10 feet. It will probably be more cost efficient to lose and replant a tree, and maybe redo a fence as well. While you got the tree out, make sure you choose a tree that will be pool friendly. A good euipment operator and pool company will suggest the quickest way to get this done; time is money. The sooner they get done with your pool, the quicker they move on to the next job.
