Q:I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. My problem is the chairs are really ugly and I need a very cheap idea on how to cover those. We are on a really tight budget ($3,000 for everything)as we are paying for everything ourselves. I was thinking of buying some tulle for the chairs and ribbon, but I wanted to know if anyone would have any idea what that would cost per chair? My colors are fuschia, yellow and orange. Thanks!
This may sound weird..but it works! My friend had the same concern/issue for her reception, so here was what we did... Pillowcases! We went to a few of our local discount/closeout stores that sell bed linens. We bought out all of the white pillow cases they had and even found a few that were in the blue color that she was using for her wedding colors. They came 2 in each pack for only 1.00 to 1.50 per pack (depending on which store we got them from) so we really only pd about .75 or so per chair. here's how to do it.... 1-Slip the case over the back of the chair and pull down just until you reach the seat and the entire back is covered. 2-Standing behind the chair, fold the excess at the top towards you in a way that results in a cuff that is about 3 to 4 wide, 3-fold that down towards you over the back of the chair and pin it to secure. 4-Then use your tuelle and tie a bow to camoflouge the fold. We used wide satin ribbon and created more of a banded look (like a ribbon sash on a wedding gown). We tied it into a knot- without the bow-and left the long streamer-trails. We had also arranged it so that all of the 'knots w/trailing ribbons were more towards the right sides of the chairs, rather than directly in the center. It was very striking and we got a LOT of compliments on it! If you DO use cases in both white and your wedding color, use your wedding color ribbon/netting to tie on the white chairs and then use white ribbon/netting to tie on the color chairs. Hope this helps a little! CONGRATS ON YOUR WEDDING!
Q:It kills me that it seems like my son can only find comfort in his vibrating chair. He loves the bouncing motion, and that is often the only way I can get him to settle down. He is now 6 weeks old, we started putting him in this chair at about one week of age when dealing with his colic at night. It really worked to help settle him down. I am happy that his colic seems to be getting better by the day, but now I can't seem to get him out of the chair. I would love to have a baby that found comfort in my arms, and not a chair. I am always close by and sing and talk to him while he is in the chair, rub his belly, play with him and such. He also always has his bottles in my arms. But other than that, his tummy time, and a few hours that he sleeps in his crib, he is in the chair. Is this normal, does any one else have this situation?
I have a 5 week old little girl that is the same way! She loves her bouncey seat! The only problem I have with it is the price of batteries! My advise is to enjoy it while it last! As long as he is happy, you should be too!
Q:I am practicing Zen Meditation but cannot use the lotus or seiza position anymore because of legs issues. I was told to use a chair. Should I purchase a zafu to keep my back straight by putting this one on my back? Or should I just stand straight on the chair naturally?
I'm sorry to hear about the leg problems... I have sciatica, so I also cannot sit in lotus position any more. But it's really no problem as far as the ability to meditate goes. Really, any position which is relatively comfortable but not conductive to falling asleep will be fine... especially if you are already skillful at meditating.
Q:I was thinking of how I might make affordable wedding chair covers for my wedding, but I have found that polyester is very expensive by the yard. I was thinking of making them with cotton and then making the same cover in tulle to fit over the cotton. That would make it to layers of material over the chair. Does that sound totally ridiculous?
I think you're underestimating the intensity and stress of a project like this. If you really want chair covers, I'd say buy/rent them and keep your sanity.
Q:I know it's polite for a man to help a lady into her chair (pull the chair out for her and help her push the chair in as she sits down) but is it also good manners for the man to help her OUTof the chair too?In a restaraunt, I saw a man get up from his seat, then walk over to his lady's seat and helped her pull the chair out. She remained seated until he began moving the chair. I watched very closely and she didn't appear to have any heath problems or injuries - she moved very freely and it was just like the sitting down routine, except in reverse. I never saw that before, and I thought it was rather weird. Reminded me of a queen waiting for her servant or something...!
Great manners, like helping a lady both take her coat off or put it on. This is the extreme in polite -- I hope she was suitable gracious and appreciative. My husband would stand next to his mothers chair at restaurants and offer his arm. She could grab his arm and get to her feet without risking tipping the table over. I occasionally still see the man rise (at least partially) when a woman joins the table. (I'm still under 40!)
Q:What are some tips for choosing an office chair?
The choice of materials of different grades vary, of course the price will also have a big gap, can the common material staff chair in all parts of the general introduction, the general staff chair cushion and backrest is imported from South Korea high imitation loose mesh cloth, cushion by Taiwan Tiida, high density sponge, sponge stereotypes and imported sponge material to high density, can use the handrail handrail, handrail, chair legs with nylon feet and plating steel chair legs, Aluminum Alloy feet and a variety of styles to choose.
Q:I want to place a chair molding type addition to bathroom wall and do not know at what height to place the molding. I will be separating painted from wallpaper.
Standard Chair Rail Height
Q:Hi, I need to get a high chair for my little baby boy. He is 6 months old. Would you please share with me your opinion and experience. I needs to deside for one and i really want to chose the best one.thanks
It's doubtful that this person is truly a Jehovah's Witness. While many can be fairly dogmatic, most would hold their tongue in this situation. Rank and file JWs do not call down the wrath of God upon others, even those who have defamed or hurt their feelings. One last comment: Why are you coming to Yahoo Answers for help? Why don't you go to your Kingdom Hall and ask your brothers and sisters to help you? Why not contact a local KH near where your injured son is located? Could it be that since Jehovah's Witnesses do not have any organized charitable assistance that you know that such entreaties would be fruitless. This is just the ramblings of a very angry person. I doubt if anyone would hold out their hand to help such a person or their family. Like trying to feed a rabid dog...
Q:Where can I buy a desk chair like this for less?
Here's a site that has good info plus some good prices like 70% off. Hope that helps
Q:Mr.Edstrom had a budget of $1500 to spend on a table and 6 chairs. The total price was $249 under her budget amount. The table cost 3 times as much as a chair. What was the price of the table?
First off, you will have to know how much she spent. so she had 1500, and the total price was 249 under her budget (1500-249). This equals $1,251 Now you have to make it equal $1,251 The table was 3 times as much as the chair, so let c be the cost of thechair and 3c be the cost of the table table. (because the table was 3 times more expensive) You now have something that looks like this c + 3c = 1251 Combine like terms 4c = 1251 Divide 4c/4 = 1251/4 this gives you 312.75 = c, this is the cost of the chair now that you have the cost of the chair, you can know how much the table costs, because in relation to the chair, the table cost three times more. so... 312.75 x 3 = 938.25 The table cost 938.25
