Q:Lookig for a new desk chair and seen one i like but theres a lot of plastic parts on it mainly the legs. Woundering if its a big deal or just a strong as metal legs ?

I'm sitting on a leather office desk chair that I purchased at Office Depot 10 years ago and have had absolutely no stability problems, breakage or durability problems with the plastic coasters or the the base to which they are attached. The secretary chair which is upholstered is over 15 years old has plastic feet and coasters and hasn't had any issues either. We are very hard on our office furniture and have found plastic to be easy to keep clean and just as durable as metal (which in our case rusted over time on a metal based and castored wingbacked office chair we once had).

Q:I have put my printer on a chair. This is the furniture of the landlord.I'm worried. The chair has tolerated weight of the printer for 6 months now. I can't but any stand or desk right now.Is the chair ok a a printer stand? It's an HP officejet.

Chairs do have weight limits, most of them are built to withstand at least 300 lbs. Your printer can't possibly weigh that much!

Q:I am going to go shopping for high chair of Tuesday and I need some help. My son is almost five months old.I want one that has several hight positions, removable tray (for easy cleaning), and possibly the seat can also recline to lower angle. However, these chairs are a lot pricier than the ones that don't have many position.So what kind of a chair do you have? Do you like it? What would you change on it? I bought a Graco high chair, and really like it. Especially the dishwasher-safe removable tray insert. It makes it so easy to clean up, Which is completely important in my life. It reclines, has adjustable heights, and moves easily with wheels. And we liked the colors. However, my two year old is getting big, and so we just had to go out and buy a booster seat for her. That being said, if I were going to buy a brand new high chair for my 6 week old, I would go with the Graco Blossom, because it would last longer. It's more expensive, but it does everything a regular high chair does, and has a booster seat, too. And I like how safe Graco items are.

Q:I am needing to reupholster my dining chairs, and I found some fabric that I really love. It is woven cotton (quilting weight). Can it be used for the dining chairs if I use a protective treatment on it to protect it?

Quilting fabric is not meant to use for upholstery purposes as it will not resist the constant wear and will stain easily, shortening it's life span quite a bit. However, if you really love the fabric, you most certainly can use a heavier gauge clear plastic vinyl over the quilting fabric for a long life and wipe clean feature. I used vinyl on my kitchen chairs and quite frankly, it lasted so long that I actually tired of the fabric and it was in like new condition when I redecorated. Even if you change your mind and use upholstery fabric, you really do not need much fabric. Home Decorating fabric is 54 wide. You will need 2/3 of a yard/24 of fabric for every two chairs. A 54w , 24l piece of fabric cut in half will net you two 27x 24 chair tops. So, you will only need 1 1/3 yards per every four chairs, believe it or not. So, it is affordable. Q:I am wanting to be a kindergarten teacher or elementary teacher soon and I have rocking chair at home. Sometimes I feel that the chair is not too comfortable without a cushion. I want to ask kindergarten teachers who have added on a seat cushion to their chair for some advice. What chair do you have an added a cushion on? How long does the cushion usually last? Would you recommend getting a cushion that is filled with polyester and/or cotton or one that has foam in it? Is it important to pick a certain color/pattern for the cushion? Does the cushion get flat or dirty easily? Will the added on cushion cause problems such as arguments or fights between students? I am assuming that the school will also provide a couple of chairs for the teacher. Some chairs that do have a cushion will not be a good one. Do you also have a chair in the classroom that you added a cushion on top of the cushion that already came with the chair?

If youre working with younger grades, I think a cushion is def a must have on a rocking chair. I like to read and work with the kids on the floor instead of lecturing them from their desks. I find that I am on my rocking chair a lot and you def want to be comfortable so get that cushion! If you have a pattern in your room and you find a cushion to match great! If not, Id just go for a dark color so it doesnt get too dirty. If youre worried about kids fighting over sitting on the chair or not, dont let them sit there, unless you have a student of the day or something like thst.

Q:I was invited to a baby shower and I was between getting a high chair or a walker for her. Which one do you mothers find more useful?

High chair will be used first. How about a bumbo seat? Or diapers
