Concert band chair placement is usually based exclusively on your audition performance, not on your leadership abilities. Prepare as well as you can and perform your audition to your highest level of ability. If someone beats you out, you have nothing to be ashamed of. However, if you don't try your hardest and still get first chair, then you should be ashamed of your own effort (or the lack thereof). Marching band section leaders are often upperclassmen that have demonstrated marching and playing ability. Work on those aspects as well as working well getting along well with other band members and you've done all you can.

You will definitely have to call around to different rental companies. It also depends on what type of chairs you are looking for. (Plastic folding, metal folding, folding wood with padding.) In my area, I just rented 16 tables for 9.50 each. They are the 60 round tables. I have been quoted .75/each for plastic folding chairs and 2.65/each for the white wood folding chairs with padding. (The 2.65 was the total for each chair after tax and a damage wavier) From all of the research I have done on this subject, this seems to be an average rate no matter where you live. I have a space saver highchair that u can use from birth to toddler as a booster seat. As a newborn or infant it reclines back so u can feed them. Its conveinent because all u have to do is strap it to a chair and its not in the way. Lately I have been putting it in the middle of gthe table so I can work in the kitchen and still be able to see my 1month old. Also the covering comes off and is washable its vinyl I believe. My daughter has been using her seat since the second day coming home.

Have you considered casters(rollers) They should be available for 3/4 legs.
