- This Site Might Help You. RE: I'm looking for a good quality Carpet Rake? I'm not sure if that's what it's called, but you rake ur carpet between sweeping- to make it look nice.
- Q:I tried steaming my carpet with a Rug Doctor, and it didn't work, so I bought a Bissell Proheat. I wanted to use up all the cleaner that I bought for the Rug Doctor before I purchase Bissell carpet shampoo for my new cleaner. The shampoo for the Rug Doctor says it's compatible with all carpet cleaning machines, but the Proheat manual says only to use the Bissell products. I'm a little confused here. Should I use the Rug Doctor shampoo or not?
- Can I use resolve
- Q:I love my cat, but she will not stop peeing on my den rug. We clean it with all the special cat cleaners to get rid of the smell and then we even tried covering the area with tin foil because cats are supposed to hate that -- she just peed around it -- in a place she had never peed before! We brought her to the vet and there is nothing wrong with her health-wise. We even block off the room, but whenever she gets a chance she finds a way to sneak in and pees! It's infuriating. We have a baby on the way, so on top of the fact that this is so gross, we can't have a cat in the house who pees wherever she feels like it once the baby is born. Any thoughts?? We've seriously tried everything!
- Well part of your question was what I was going to say. My cat pees on the bathroom rug which I can pick up and wash. But the reason she does it she doesn't like the litter box anymore. If it's not super clean or one poo in there she will not use it. I was thinking maybe your cat has a bladder infection, but you said you took her in to the doctor. Hmmm I'm stumped I would guess maybe the litter box is dirty and smells and that is why she won't use it. Well I had to start letting my cat go outside to do her business.
- Q:I just bought an area rug from Home Depot. It is wool with a fabric backing and they have used a glue that I have had problems with on other rugs. It smells so bad, that is all I can smell when I walk into that room. I smelled the sample piece when I ordered it and it didn't smell. I have gotten rid of other rugs in the past that never lost the smell. Now What?
- Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is great for absorbing odours. Sprinkle on the rug (the reverse as well as the front if necessary) leave for a couple of hours and vacuum off. You can also put a few drops of your favourite essential oil onto the rug to freshen up the smell. Also, as daft as it sounds, to get rid of chemical smells from the room itself such as glue, paint etc peel an onion, chop it in half and cover it with water, leave it in the room overnight and it will absorb the smell (don't ask me why this works but it does!) Hope this helps!
- Q:does anyone know of a home remedy to get rid of carpet stains? Please help! Thank u!!
- Good old hydrogen peroxide. Works on all carpet stains.
- Q:I am wanting to purchase a carpet shampooer, but I'm not sure which one would be the best.I could use some input on this. Thanks!
- Don't okorder / this is the best easiest way to keep great looking carpets. You can rent the machine that brushes the product in and then you vacuum it. th machine doesn't cost too much to rent and the results are fabulous. I kept my carpets looking like new for 10 years. When I sold my home people couldn't believe it wasn't new carpeting. Also great for allergies.
- Q:I spilled a full ashtray on my off white carpet i scrubed it with carpet cleaner i still have a big black spot anyone know how i can get that out? Thanks
- 1 Sprinkle baking soda onto the areas of the carpet stained with ashes. Baking soda will absorb into the stains, removing the ashes from the carpet fibers. 2 Allow the baking soda to set on the carpet for an hour. Use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the baking soda from the carpet. 3 Apply dry-cleaning solvent to a clean, white cloth. Sponge the stained carpet with the cloth until the solvent is absorbed. 4 Inspect the carpet for remaining ashes or stains. Repeat the entire process if needed.
- Q:Last night we found our basement carpet soaked after a rainstorm---there was not standing water (until we pulled up the carpet and padding), but it was set enough to squish when you walk, etc. We pulled up the carpet and threw away the padding. We've been trying to dry it out with a fan, but it doesn't seem to be helping. What steps should we take to save the carpet? We really can't afford to replace it right now. Also, we live in Colorado, and there is almost no humidity. Thanks!
- You don't salvage it, you throw it away! Mildew begin's soon after the water came in. You may not see the dampness, but when a pipe broke in my basement, a guy came with a meter was able to tell me where the wetness was even the walls had to come down. You need a dehumidifier no matter where you live! Good Luck!
- Q:i stained my carpet with grape juice yesterday and i want to get it out
- Hoover F7458-900
- Q:Well we kind of had a little mis hap and we accidently got a burning piece of paper on the ground. The paper was burning and went onto the carpet and we cleaned all the ash up and now there is a dirty ashy looking stain on the carpet. How do you get rid of it? I don't mean by buying another carpet, is there anything that could get it out of the carpet? Thank you.
- It sounds like the carpet fibers have been burned. If so, you can't repair those fibers, but you can fix the problem with a Carpet Transplant: 1. Cut the marked area out using a razor knife or a single-edged razor blade. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. You can buy either of these products at most hardware stores. 2. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. 3. Put the RUINED piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template for the new piece. Cut this out and use it as a pattern. You want an exact match in shape. 4. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -
