Q:How can I prevent my rugs from staining my linoleum?
There are a few types out there ,but the one I m familar with is calles Rug Hold.. It s a thin rubberymat you put under your rugs to hold them down and wont react w/ your vinyl like the backing is know to your vinyl.. Ashphalt drives are a big problem (tracking in the oils) because the petroleum based products react w/ each other and causes the yellow stains you see.. Check any product like this and get the 1 for your needs.. They make them for wood and carpet etc The nice thing is they can be tossed in washer when they do lose tackeyness and be renewedGL
Q:How to clean down the ink stain on the carpet?
Immediately knead the carpet with rice, and then use neutral detergent to clean it
Q:Home made carpet cleaner?
I work 1 day a week for an Alzhiemers facility. I maintain their plumbing, electrical and security systems. After observing the condition of their carpet, I asked them if I could help them find a product that would improve it's condition. They owned a carpet cleaner. It was a $4,000.00 machine so I expected that the machine wasn't the problem. For the next year, I searched the internet for formulas (There is no end to the people that have mixed up a concoctions) This is what I discovered. Although there are some homemade remedies that work well on certain stains, the best product for the money is available at Ace Hardware stores under their own brand name. Ace 6 in 1 carpet cleaner The problem when purchasing carpet cleaners is the ratio of cleaner to water. I purchased a gallon of each type carried by WalMart for example. The best ratio they carried was 4 to 1, 4 oz of product per gallon of water for standard cleaning. The Ace product wax mixed at 2 to 1, 2 oz of product per gallon. Since these all were in the same price range, this meant that the Ace cleaner was 1/2 the price of not only the Walmart cleaners but almost every other one we tried. We found that Oxy clean would bleach out carpet dyes over time. Vinegar had just enough sticky to attract dirt. Windex, however, worked great on urine spots and some stains. When testing these products and formulas, I used a test piece of carpet rather than the installed carpet which was lucky considering some of the helpful formulas we tried. I should add that we cleaned our carpets once a week plus did constant spot cleaning. The problems we encountered would take years to develop if the carpets were cleaned only once or twice a year
Q:Soap Stains in Carpet?
What did you use for a cleanser? If you used a product designed for laundry use, you may have damaged the carpet dyes permanently. If not and it is just plain soap, do what you do when you put shampoo in your hair, you rinse it out. Leaving soap ,from spotting stains, will attract dirt/soil because the residue becomes sticky and acts like a dirt magnet. For around $30.00 you can purchase a shop vac, small one of course, that will vacuum water. Rinse and suck, rinse and suck, numerous times on these spots, to remove the soapy residue. Dry with a terry cloth towel and a fan. (BOX TYPE) If you continue to allow a leaking pet on your carpet, you will be working on stains from urine for the rest of you life. If you would like further advice for removing urine from the carpeting, come back with a new question. See you
Q:How to put on a horse rug?
it is a bit of a case of trying to flip it up onto horses back, just takes practise with the big boys!!!! to do it the bhs way fold the rug in half with the tail flap on top of the neck bit, flip it onto the horses neck, well up on the neck, fasten front buckles/clips. fold the back half of the rug back into place over the bum and fix surcingles/clasps at side then any fillet string/leg straps at the back. you can tug it back a little but dont pull it back completely snug against the horses chest as th rug will pull back during the day so its good to have a bit of give to start with. this is tghe correct way to do it (albeit ithout the pinickity little bits like clipping up the unused straps etc!!!) definately before putting it on have it folded in half across the way tho - working with a half size is much easier. hold it halfway down as you flip so the momentum carries the far side of the rug over the back then use the front bit to give a bit of a tug and push to get it squared up!!!! dont worry about the people watching - nobody looks cool putting a rug on a massive horse!!!!! just practise and finding your own routine will make this job go quickly (you'll be doing it all in 30 seconds or less before you know it).
Q:wooden to carpet?
Yes, I worked in a carpet store for 8 years and what we told customers is to have it loose laid meaning get a roll that doesn't need seaming and can go right under the molding around the walls if you don't want the carpet tacks to mess up the wood. If you're not concerned about that then just have it laid over the floors. Best wishes
Q:steam cleaner for carpet help. :D?
have the pros come in twice annually.
Q:Truly cleaning Carpet?
The issue is and always has been, less about the carpet and more about the padding. Certainly Hundreds of products are sold claiming to reduce or remove stains, and given that most carpet fibers are synthetics, they all may have some moderate success. It may also depend in large measure, on what caused the stain in the first place, and I promise you any WET attempts, no matter Who the PRO Cleaner is, who does the job,,, will leach to the padding. The same can be said for those machines so many rent from the grocery store. The problem will show soon enough, in that the stain, or some of it will appear to be gone from the carpet, but at least some of it will end up in the pad. Then as the carpet fibers will dry first the Moisture in the pad, along with the stain, will leach back up, into the carpet. Many PROS also use a Bonnet technique; similar to dry cleaning clothing. The machine (looking like a floor buffer) is fitted with an absorbent pad. Some chemical substance sprayed from an ordinary spray bottle is applied as the BONNET is then rotated over the stained area, gathering whatever amount is possible, into the Bonnet pad, while keeping a moisture level low so as to NOT allow seeping into the pad. In reality, if you want to keep this forecloser or even FLIP it you should probably pull the carpet, and at the very least replace the pad. You'll notice years of abuse that may not show on the carpet surface. Also to do the WET approach, even Stanley Steamer the likelyhood is that any leached substance/stain will add aromas to the house, when wet, that you might not enjoy, IE: Pet Urine. Steven Wolf
Q:how long it takes to replace carpet?
An empty place the carpet can be done , ripped out and replaced in a day with a 2 man crew. A one person operation may take 2 days. That you can find out when you schedule the job. With rip out , disposal, new carpet and installation, your looking at 3000$ ( +- of course) . This is based on the 1000 s/f you say. This may not be all carpet.. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:best site to buy rug warp?
360 okorder.com too. If you're a new weaver, better to start off with the materials for one rug first.
