- You must be able to find the joists and they'll be 16 inches apart on center - so you'll have to put your tank just 1 inch out from each joist! Good Luck with that. By putting it close to the wall - you have added strength as the joists are tied into the concrete base of your sub floor.
- Q:We never went trough them but got an assignment that involves it, I'm guessing point of this is to learn to research on your own. And I did but one of the questions is to prove floor(x)+floor(-x). I know it's always -1 unless x =N but how do I prove it?

- Q:About 5 years ago my dad put Pergo floors downin our house. It seems like now I am noticing thatwhen it is humid and/or rainy there is moistureon top ot the flooring. I didn't notice this the firstfew years. - I have pergo floors as well and the answer about ventilation is spot on the mark. I was sure to use a rubber based padding as when when I installed mine to prevent any moisture. Is it possible that you live in a very humid area? I don't know the specifics. It may be best to check with a reputable local contractor. I have lived all over the United States and each area carries with it, their own separate building challenges.
- Q:We are going to install 20mm laminate flooring and I heard that the underlayment is just a sound buffer. We currently have subfloor that is pretty flat and even. Can I omit the underlayment? What are the disadvantage of doing so? The laminate flooring will not have glued on back underlayment either. It will be a floating floor.

- Q:I pulled up my old vinyl kitchen flooring (7 years old) and found that the underlayment is in great shape except that the original vinyl was just glued about 3 inches around the entire perimeter. I scraped the old glue as best as possible and it is almost perfectly level with the rest of the floor. Does it need to be perfectly smooth where it meets the unglued edge or is a slight ridge OK to keep it from showing through the new vinyl flooring? I do have floor "sizing" that I plan to use where there are any nicks or impressions. Should I use the sizing around the edges and taper to the good flooring or am I overdoing this project? I plan to lay new vinyl flooring this wekend. I'd appreciate any good advice. PS: I also tried sanding the old glue to take off any high ridges using 80 paper. Thanks

- Linoleum would work for a while but won't last long on a dance floor. Most dance floors are hardwood, seamless tile or vinyl sheathing and none of it is cheap. Building supply stores would have whatever you decide on or could order it for you.
