Q:My wife and I have a 5' X 7' area rug which we want to dye brown. It's a deep pile wool rug and the fibers are dense. How does one go about this? We would have it done professionally but there are no skilled people where we live. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Absolutely, fabric dye such as Rit will do a great job, however the size of the rug may present another problem. If it is larger, maybe mix up the recommended amount of dye, have the carpet outside on a tarp, pour the dye and use a squeegee or a brush to work the dye in. Hope this helps.
Q:one of my cats uses area rugs for a litterbox. I have a multi cat household , I use large shallow tubs for litter boxes and they are cleaned daily. I am only having problems with one cat
My sister has a cat that will potty on rugs or towel left on the floor. It is just a behavior quirk. I suggest not having rugs.
Q:I only need about a foot or two of carpet. 1x1 or 2x2 can i do this at home depot or something?
contact with carpet dealer or go OKorder shop
Q:We have a wall-to-wall berber carpet, and we want to make it into a smaller area rug (perhaps 9'7quot; x 11quot;). Has anyone done this sort of thing before? If so, what was the approximate cost, and who did you call to service it? I tried some local carpet stores to no avail. Thanks for your input.
Local carpet stores don t have access to a rug binder? Thats strange.. Look further, when I had my store we had a place that picked up and dropped off our carpet we needed to have bound or surged..It was a week turn around time for us. But to answer you question yes you can have a pc done any size , shape or form. Some additional options are a felt backing sewn on as an anti slip mat.Surging ran our custumers about 2.5 $ a l/f. and binding was $2.00 a l/f.. Of course this can vary but it ll put you in the ballpark , price wise.. Some carpet guys have a binding machine to bind edges for when they do a carpet base like a lot of hotels use instead of a wood base.Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL.
Q:My sister has a 9x12 area rug that laid flat on hardwood floors and now that she wants to put it on carpet, it curls on the edges and bunches in the middle. Is there any way to keep it flat? It's a beautiful rug, but right now she has it rolled up against a wall.
Hi, this sounds pretty stupid but use the rug upside down for a week and then turn back over to original side!
Q:My diningroom and livingroom are together so I've painted them a nice yellow...and my trim is wood most of my furniture is oak and I have wood flooring, what color rug would fit perfect with my living-dining area?? And any suggestions on where I can find a good price for one?
I have a very similar design with white oak floors, clear fir trim, and chamois walls. I chose a heavy herringbone seagrass rug with a wide border closely matched to the seagrass colors. The rug has been down for over a year, and has held up very well. My 2 year old lab has slobbed on it with his tennis ball, and thrown-up on it a few times during his experimental food stage. I was able to clean the mess up quickly, and it didn't stain. The colors are green to brown and seem to blend in real well with the yellowy chamois color.
Q:what is the measurelt;RUG
Rugs are measured by length and width, and by the height and density of he fibers in their nap.
Q:I am replacing carpet in my living room, hallway and 3 bedrooms. All with one kind of carpet. I am looking for something durable, stiff, non-furry so it's easy to maintain and resist stain. Almost every store we visited is selling different type of fabric. I am getting very confused. So far the fabric I've seen are nylon, smartstrand, BCF Strudon... anyone knows the difference?
Carpets and rugs enhance the beauty of homes or commercial spaces. Most commonly used fibers to make carpets are wool (warm and durable), silk (most exotic), jute, some synthetic fibers like nylon, polyester, olefin, and acrylic, out of which polyester is durable of all. Bamboo carpets and Coir carpets form a different range of eco-friendly carpets.
Q:I'm looking for a rug that I've seen on TV many times, yet I can't find it anywhere on the internet. It's a large brown area rug and it has a huge white/cream hollow circle on it. Like the outline of a circle on it. I may have seen it on the Jeff Leis show one time, but I've seen it other places too. Please help?!?!?

Q:I have this rug that's in my garage that I want to put in my room. It used to be in my old room when I was younger but I don't want to put it in my room because I had it in my room when I was 12-14 (Now 17) and it was a horrible time, I used to get in trouble, grounded, awkward moments, just horrible stuff. I know I'm being superstitious but I don't want to have bad luck in my room. I think that If I put the rug in my room it will invite all that bad. I really want to put it in my room but I can't.It will bring back all those bad times. How do I overcome this? And is it bad luck? Help please.
There is no such thing as luck. If something we can't explain happens, and it's good we say we had good luck, and opposite if bad things happen we say we had bad luck. Luck good or bad is a state of mind. You must stop associating the rug with the bad times of the past. Think about it, the rug had nothing to do with the things that happened in the past. If your life has changed, and your more stable in your daily affairs the rug will not change that. It may be good to put it in your room you did write that you liked the rug, and that you would like to put it in your room. I say go for it. After a short time of it being back in the room, you should be able to let the past, and the fact that the same rug was on the floor go. Make new, good memories to replace the old bad ones that the rug reminds you of. It's not the Rug sweetie.
