Q:Okay, I just want some more information about 'Fibre'I hear all doctors talk about itcough Even Dr.Oz , that you mustn't lose out on your FibreOkay, So I have an idea of what fibre is, but what foods have it high in? Because theres foods like, bread that I know of that has like 1g per 2 pieces of breadHow come so low? Is there any supplements that you can take where your ONLY eating fibre? What does Fibre do for you? How much Fibre should you eat per day?
Just put plastic around it.
Q:Hi gang, I live in the Pacific NW, USAIt gets pretty cold here in the winter time and right now I am wearing a hat in the house in order to keep the heat downIt got below zero last night and it is holdingI want to know what you think what would be a good alternative heat source - pellet stove, or wood stove? I have forced air gas as a furnace, but it can run pretty high in the winterWhat is your experience on the best solution? Thanks always, Karen
Well, I'm not the brightest ship on the water, I've done alot from putting stainless steel metal into a microwave, then grabbing it, to waxing my brother in the head with a hot cookie sheet, to setting off the fire alarm while making eggsBut the story that takes the cake One time I was making cookies with my babysitter, and as we opened the oven, it started to sparkThe logical thing would be to turn off the oven right? Well, I threw BUCKETS of water into the oven because I thought it was on fire, and then I told my brother to tell the neighbor our house was on fireEveryone was flipping out, and my neighbor, who i don't even know, ran into our house, and turned off the ovenThe end result was an oven with roughly two inches of water at the bottomAnd, unfortunately the oven got injured pretty badman, that was not my finest hour.
Q:I have my baby bearded dragon named Dante in a glass tank in my roomAfter i turn off its lights and everything for it to go to bed for the night, i still like to stay up and watch tv for quite a bit after thatI am worried that the lights and all from the tv might be keeping him awake and/or annoying himIf so, would it be alright to place a blanket over the tank to keep the light out till morning?
In order to answer this question, you must first understand how boats float When you throw a rock into a lake, it sinksBut a boat weighs more than a rock, and it floatsThe reason is because the boat displaces it's weight in waterYou will have to find or create something that can do thisAnd it should probably be something shaped similarly to a boat.
Q:have a simple Uniden pro 510xl radio.i have a simple 4 foot cb antenna (i dont know much about it, all i know is its not a loaded antenna) and i want to get the best range out of my four watts.i live in a heavily forested area and am pretty level with everything else around me.i dont want to install the antenna outside and i was wondering if i could install it in my attic.the walls in my attic are pretty thin with no insulation on the ceiling.no wires or pipes either.there is little between the antenna and the outside world (i have a non-metallic shingled roof (also pretty thin).so if i installed the antenna in my attic, will it affect my performance compared to if i installed it outside at the same height?.i know it will attenuate the signal slightly if i installed it in my attic but i dont have a good idea on how radio waves in the cb frequency range propagate.so could i still get 6 miles or so with the attic-mounted antenna, or is outside the only way?
You will always get better performance if your antenna is clear of structuresYou would do better with an actual base antenna on the roof or antenna tower This being said, sometimes attics are the only alternativeIf you use this (vertical?) 4' antenna, it will require a ground plane, assuming it's a 1/4 wave antennaThis ground plane can take the form of 4 radials, 104 long, or as close to this as possibleTry to have the antenna itself as far away as possible from walls, posts or other obstructionsThe fact that you don't have aluminum siding or such is good, although sometimes wall insulation sometimes has a metalized surfaceYou might want to check thatIf you can bend the radials down a bit, that will create a better match between the antenna and coaxIdeally, the angle should be 45 degreesWhen life gives you lemons, make lemonadeSince you are limited to an attic, make the most of itIf you have an 18' straight stretch of attic, you might put up a 1/2 wave dipole antenna tooThere are a few web sites around that can show you how to make oneIt would be 17' 3 long, given by the equation: Length (in feet) 468 / frequency (in Megahertz) The frequency would be in the middle of the CB bandYou can hook regular 50 ohm coax to itThis should radiate a little better than the vertical, at least perpendicular to the dipoleIt will have very little radiation along the direction of the axisHave the vertical antenna below it if possibleBoth antennas should be tuned with an SWR meterSwap connections between the two to see which one does best in various directions, maybe the vertical will do better all aroundYou can run coax cables down from both to an antenna switch near your radio later.
Q:I've been told this:quot;Bouncing knits around in the dryer can compact the fibers causing them to shrink or pillThat's how felt is made-so you get the idea.quot;what happened to my pants is they feel almost prickly since I took them out of the dryer and I think this is what happenedCould someone please explain this a bit further? Would it make them less comfortable to wear? And are the pilling effects permanent? I hope I don't sound really dumb for asking this.
You are treating the concept of a mid-life crisis as if it were a mental illnessThat's not what it isIn its most basic concept, a mid-life crisis is when a person seriously looks back on what his (or her) life has been, what it is now, and finds it lackingThe person is question might come to realize that he has spent more than half his entire lifespan doing things he didn't actually enjoyThings like staying married just for the kids, working at a high-paying job that makes him miserable, giving up on his dreams to live a more practical life, etcThat's a hard thing to deal withIt's a realization that you might now have much time life on this Earth, and that you haven't had much enjoyment out of the time you've spent so farSo, if this man starts finding fault with his wife and children, maybe it's because he feels they rely on him so much that he doesn't get to do things for himselfIf he's thinking about divorce, maybe it's because he's come to realize that his wife isn't the person he marriedIt's hard to say without a specific exampleThe worst thing you can do with someone like this is treat them as if they are just going through a phaseThat is tantamount to saying that these concerns that are for them so earth-shaking aren't valid at all, that they need to straighten up and fly rightThe way you phrased your question made it seem as though you want to be able to diagnose someone from the outsideAs it, trying to figure it out without having to actually communicate with him about itAnother mistakeYou need to give him a chance to actually discuss his concerns, and not be judgmental about any honest feelings he offersAnd regarding your question as to whether or not he will go back to his old self: What if he hates his old self? Should he be obligated to go back to that just because you are more comfortable with it?
Q:I am making a batman blanket for my husbandSo far I have a big rectangle of black fleece with the batman symbol cut out of it, with a yellow fleece fabric sewn into itI am trying to edge that batman symbol with yellow yarn to make it look more.perfectI tried stitching it with the over-stitch(where I always put the needle in the same side of fabric)I thought it would be flat but it bubbled up and I need a suggestion on how to make the yarn flatten out against the fleece.
Steak, Tuna are great protein sourcesKidney Beans, Oats are high in fiber.
Q:I'm not a full-time smoker or drug user. But 3 days ago I did smoke marijuana to calm myself down and I do not smoke on a regular basis, I smoke maybe twice a year and I was really feeling the need to calm down. Now I have a job interview coming up and a drug test and I do not want to flush it out of my system with a bunch of pills that will kill me.On a daily basis I just started taking cranberry pills, Airborne and Fish Oil and I just added Niacin because I heard that helps but I am not over doing it on the Niacin because sometimes it can be a downer so I only take one pill a day with the others.I also drink a lot of water, milk and Gatorade. Also I am overweight but I have a decent Metabolism, no high blood pressure or anything else.
You were anxious about a drug test, so you smoked pot to calm yourself down? That's the kind of clear thinking any employer would covetAnyways, THC gets caught in your fat cellsSo I think the way to get it out is to give it somewhere to goI would stay well hydrated, as you are, so that your kidneys can clear it outAlso, I would exercise moderately more than usual, like say taking a brisk walk each day, so that the fat cells have an incentive to empty themselves a bitThe key thing though is that the THC is metabolized in the liver and dumped into the bileSo I would eat oatmeal seriously! Oatmeal, and a few other foods, have a lot of something called 'soluble fiber.' Soluble fiber binds bile irreversibly in the intestine, carrying the bile constituents (including the THC) out through the exitI don't mean gorging yourself on oatmeal, just eating a good meal of it for breakfast, and if you are really nervous a second helping for an afternoon snack or dessertYou can google up some other food that have a lot of soluble fiber - just make sure it is the soluble form not other typesHTH, good luck on the interview.
Q:It's a very fluffy acrylic sweater and my daughter's favoriteI refused to let my husband wash it but I'm positive it would get ruined.
I've done it with almost every acrylic sweater I own without damaging any of themHere is how I do itI do put it in a fine mesh bag on the extra delicate cycle, I use woolite or a detergent specially formulated for delicatesI allow it it go through the shortest cycle, drain and rinse, but I do not allow it to go through the spin cycleI remove the soaking wet sweater onto a thick terry towel and slowly roll and squeeze the towel over the sweater to gently remove all of the excess waterI block my sweater (trace the sweater on to a piece of brown paper bag or large piece of paper before washing) by placing it on the paper and gently manipulating the fibers to conform back into the shape it was before I laundered it I do have a rack that can be placed in the dryer which stays stationery while the drum turns and will often place sweaters on it and partiall dry them on the air only cycleThis re-fluffs the fibersI then re-block the sweater just to ensure that it retained its shapeYou can also use one of the Dryel dryer dry cleaning kits or a product called Sweater Fresh in the dryer instead of using the washing machine method.
Q:The care tag says machine wash and dryAfter I did that, it turned nubby and quot;stickyquot; like acrylicI googled it and found out you cannot dry polyester faux fur because heat destroys the fibersSo I returned it to the store and got a new oneThis one I've only been line-drying and the softness has lasted longer, but now it's turning nubby againWhat should I do?!
Its good but needs a giant lamp in there somewhere.
Q:i got all the fibers form a blanket on my jeanshow do i get them off and quick!! thanlkies!]
