Q:When you change the timing belt do you also have to change the water pump?
I agree with the dealer. It may sound like he is trying to jack up the job but in fact it will save you money and grief in the long run. Getting to those parts is so labor intensive that if you have to go back in later to change the pump or tensioner pulleys it will cost you the same as it did to have the belt changed. The other thing if the pump starts leaking on a new belt you will have to have it replaced again. Whenever I do a timing belt I change everything that is in there. Then I don't have to worry about it.
Q:what causes water pump failure?
There is a number of reasons for your water pump to leak. One could be its tear and wear due to years of used. Second is due to successive overheating. Weight cant cause water pump breakdown, as long as it does not overheats. To much pressure in the cooling system cause its breakdown. Hope this might help!
Q:Water pump belongs to power equipment or mechanical equipment?
Ownership of mechanical power equipment in assets
Q:How much does it cost to get the timing belt changed including:?
The suzuki ( I done it for a 05 due to you had no year); OEM Part cost Water Pump 1740085Z00 $203.67 Water Pump Replace 2.0 hours Timing Belt 1276185Z01 $92.05 Timing Belt Replace 1.8 The cost of doing the water pump and timing belt; Parts: 295.72 Labor : 3 hours times the shop labor rate. The kia has what engine in it???
Q:Can a car turn off due to water pump?
yes it can IF the car is running hot. id wanna see this happen. when you go to look at the car start it up an let it run til it starts to go past normal, once it goes up past normal you can be sure its the water pump not working, which when newer cars overheat they shut off.jus dont run it hot. id also wanna know that the car runs great. no telling how many times he's let it run hot an shut off like that
Q:Does the water pump effect the car AC?
The water cooling system for the engine (radiator, water pump, hoses, etc.) is completely separate from the air conditioning system. The water pump moves water from the radiator (where the water is cooled off) to the engine where the water travels through tubes in the block, picking up heat (cooling the block) and then returns to the radiator. A failing water pump would not cause burning antifreeze. It would cause overheating by not moving the water, or not moving it fast enough. The smell of antifreeze in the exhaust (a sweet smell) usually makes me think of a failed head gasket or a cracked block. The water is somehow getting into the combustion chambers from the tubes in the block. If the engine has been overheated it is not unusual for the head gasket to blow or for the block to be damaged. Take your car to a reputable mechanic - not a buddy who works on his own car in the back yard. Ask friends and family who they go to and what they have experienced. There are good, honest mechanics out there. Find one and have him check out the car. Pay him for his training and experience. It will be cheaper in the long run than going to the cheaper guy working in his driveway.
Q:Do you think it's a water pump or a headgasket?
Locate the water pump and look it over to find a small hole called a weep hole, it's there to let you know when the pump seal is toast. After you locate the hole, start the car and let it warm up and look at the hole again, it will be dripping because that's what I think it is.
Q:Help with new thermostat on new water pump?
That part in the picture is a high limit control with manual reset. It has nothing to do with the pump. You will need more than a thermostat to control the added pump. When you have more than one pump the system is zoned .You need a switching relay panel (Taco SR502) that not only turns on the pump , but also the burner. There is a lot to know here and it's best left to a heating contractor.
Q:how to identify water pump on Frankenstein car?
The pump is whatever fits the ENGINE. End of story.
Q:How do i know if my water pump went out in my car?
sounds like Low water level and a possible head gasket failure from over heating!( low water levels do this) you may? be very lucky and simply have a stuck thermostat or faulty filler cap. ( keeps system pressures correct ) try replacing filler cap as very cheap, also before doing so run engine with full water cooling system with cap off for a minute or two and have somebody rev the engine a few times. we should!! see some water flow across the filler section under filler cap. this will be sign the water pump is working. no flow is possible pump failure. in order of likely hood will be 1) head gasket failure 2) water pump failure 3) filler cap failure.
