Q:how much would it cost to generate MW electricity by solar panels??? and how much land it requires ?
Sorry if I don't have all the specifics you asked for, but Sun Power makes the most efficient solar panels on the market, at close to 20% efficiency. They have made cells with up to 25% efficiency in the lab. That doesn't make it the cheapest but means the most watts per square foot. Thin film panels are cheaper to make but not as efficient. They are about half as efficient as conventional silicon panels. First Solar makes the cheapest per watt right now. So I guess that makes them the actuall cheapest manufacturer. They are able to make them cheap enough to beat out the conventional silicon panels on a per watt basis, despite being less efficient. A company called NanoSolar has the price down close to First Solar's price. These are manufacturers. But they do installations and build utility and commercial scale projects. NanoSolar is less far along in commercialization. They have products, but probably need to wait for the stock market to be more favorable for IPOs, so they can go public and raise the money to move up to scale. The other two are already public.
Q:Why did the voltage of a solar panel drop significantly after putting it through a step down voltage regulator?
you cannot treat the open circuit voltage of a solar panel like a voltage source (like a battery.) the load response of the panel doesn't behave that way. small panels and panels that are producing less than about .5A are very happy to have their output voltage pulled down to whatever they're connected to (typically zero.) I observed the same phenomenon when i connected a 2V 725mA panel to a 2V 325mA fan -- the open circuit voltage of 5V dropped to 3V when connected to the fan, and returned to 5V when disconnected. The easiest workaround is to use 2V of rechargable batteries in parallel with the panel so that the battery holds the 2V potential difference and the panel just supplies the current. any excess current charges the batteries, so you might consider whether or not you need some type of charge controller to prevent burning the batteries via overcharging. there are actually very few applications of solar panels connected directly to circuits that i have seen that have any kind of robust performance -- if they work at all, they eventually die/burn themselves out in a couple of months. the best robust designs always have a rechargable battery and charge controller somewhere in the power circuitry to buffer the load circuit from the panel. .
Q:The effect of colored light on a solar panel?
It is based on what the solar panel is made out of. Many of them will generate electric into the NIR region.
Q:Pls is it ok to connect a 0watt and 20watt solar panel together into a charge controller port?
Tobi, generally yes, solar panels are like beer, all the europeans get along fine, you can put two Belgiums in the same room as one German and three Englishman. As long as the panels have roughly the same open circuit voltage, usually around 8 volts, then go for it. If you're not sure about this, or the panels voltage disagrees dramatically, then they can still work through the same charge controller, the only other thing you need is a bypass diode in the junction box on the back of each panel. Most modern panels come with these already installed. They are simply electrical check valves, allowing current flow in one direction but not the other. The reason these matter is when the sun is first coming up, the higher voltage panel can force its power backwards through the lower voltage panel, at least until they both reach a voltage higher than the charge controller is set at. This is not a desirable thing to have happen, the 20 watt panel, if its voltage is higher, can damage the 0 watt panel without these diodes if the 20 watt has a much higher open circuit voltage, or Vmax. Look on the back of the panel for these ratings. The only other concern is maximum current. A charge controller has a maximum current it can handle, they are generally model numbered this way, a Xantrex C-60 for example has a 60 amp rating. Add up the Imax numbers on the back of all your panels, this is the maximum amperage the panel should put out. As long as it is not above 80% of your charger controllers maximum amperage, your good. Take care, Rudydoo

Q:Mitsubishi Solar Panels For Home Installation: How Much Do The Panels Cost?
Panels will cost in the range of 300-600 dollars for about 00 watts on average ( enough for one large lightbulb to run a few hours a day). The rest of the system needed will cost $2500-$4000. That is for the equipment. Cost for Installation?? Figure about 0 year life on equipment. It will probably never pay back investment, but will cut power usage. You can reduce power usage much more cost effectively buy simply conserving (Hot water temp. down, CFE bulbs, Better insulation, Better windows, Heat/Air a little colder/hotter, Attic ventilation, Geo Thermal heating/colling system). All of these measures will pay back sooner and save power usage. Solar will never pay back without major subsidies from the taxpayers. Particularly if in an area that has many cloudy days. Check it out. The calculations are basic and the facts are available if you really want them. Don't believe any salesmen or Environmentalists. They don't want you to know the facts.

Q:explanation of solar panels?
You'd better build some sample project. For e.g, if you mean solar water heater, install one pc on your roof, and make it generate hot water, and tell people about it.
Q:where to find used solar panels?

Q:Anybody install solar panels themselves?
