Q:how the power output of solar panels fitted to a house can charge?
Solar panels do NOT get charged, so the question is junk, or you misstated it. Solar panels are used to charge a battery bank, which stores energy for times when there is no sun. Then energy from the batteries is used, via an inverter, to power appliances in the house. OR do you mean how the power output of solar panels can CHANGE? In that case, they change when the sun moves, such as behind a cloud, or just changes angle in the sky, or goes out.
Q:help setting up a solar panel system?
If okorder.com/ If the minifridge is one that plugs into 2 volts, that should be okay. Anywhere you can eliminate the inverter will help. Such as converting the stereo over to 2 volts. The nominally rated panels should be mounted at an angle to maximize the solar aspect/exposure. Essentially your lattitude plus 2 degrees for simplicity. If you add 60 Watts in panels you will do much better. Your 3 panels when installed correctly will actually yield over 5 Watts each panel at midday. If you do not achieve that, something is wrong in either the wiring, or a panel. It translates to about point2 Amperes to point5 Amperes at midday. If wired in series for 36 volts, the total current output will be same as a single panel (nominal 5 Watt), but at a higher voltage. If wired in parallel, you achieve the 45 Watts at nominal 2 volts. Watts is voltts times Amps. Also converting your tools over to run off the 2 volts will help, Or charging your tool batteries off the 2 volt buss. There are buck/boost circuits that would be capable of charging the common 4.4 and 8. volt tools out there.
Q:What would happen if a car ran over a solar panel?
Solar panels have tempered glass, and are tougher than they seem. On commercial buildings where the panels are flat, they have a person with a mop regularly clean them, and that person walks right on the panels. A car might crack the glass, but that could be solved by simply using stronger glass. The problem of putting a panel right in the roadway would mainly be that the cars passing over it shadow the panel constantly. On a rooftop installation, installers try to avoid even a tiny shadow from a vent pipe or overhead wire, as this has a larger effect than might be supposed. Also, road grime would quickly accumulate on the panel and reduce its efficiency. Glass would be slippery as a road surface, but that problem could be solved. Metal is slippery, too, but they make bridges out of it. EDIT: To clarify, I meant serious solar panels in the first paragraph. The hobby type that they sell at Radio Shack or Harbor Freight are fragile.
Q:I need some ideas for a going green program involving solar paneling.?
Give some green to go green.
Q:how efficient are flexible solar panels?
One I got about 3 years ago is about 50% as efficient as a glass panel I got about 0 years ago. Not exactly a scientific study, I know.
Q:Will a 3w Solar Panel Charge A 55ah Car Battery?
I don't think so, but if it did, it would take a very long time. You need enough wattage or amps to push the power in the battery and 3w may not be enough. You would be better off with a small 2v battery, maybe the type they use for emergency lights. I would use a sealed battery for this type of setup because car batteries are designed for heavy charging with alternators from 60 amps and up.
Q:how to build a solar panel?
Search Yahoo Answers or the internet first, this question is common. It is possible to build a solar thermal panel, to heat either water or air. You can just search YouTube to see how people did it. Try searching solar water heater. If you build a photovoltaic (solar electric) panel on your own, it will only be good for demonstration purposes. The homemade type I've seen produces only microamps of current - not even enough to run an iPod. Be wary of sites advertise you can make your own panel for less than $200 (or some figure), and try to sell you the plans. This is the same information that is posed on other sites for free.
Q:Can I get free solar panels?
Do not touch free solar panels with a barge pole. The installer keeps the feed-in tariff and owns the panels on your roof, a problem when you come to sell the house. Your only benefit is the free use of the electricity generated, if you happen to be in, or use time clocks, on dish washer, washing machine etc. My system has a target of 6 kWh per day. At 43.3p per unit this is a theoretical payment of £6.92 a day. All you could gain, assuming you use every available kWh generated, would be £.92, assuming a tariff of 2 p per kWh. The feed-in tariff goes down for new installations next April. In my opinion its a good buy, and should show an 8% return on our investment. I would not like to give the main benefit to someone else.
Q:is my solar panel big enough?
If a car battery contains 50 amp hours of charge at 2 volts, that's 600 watt hours of energy. divided by 34.03 watts, 7.63 hours to charge completely in direct sunlight. You don't want to connect them all in series. You want about 4 or 5 volts to charge a 2 v battery, so you should connect groups in parallel, and connect those groups in series to make your voltage. You'll end up with the same amount of power, lower volts and higher amps. It will work for trickle charging your battery if it's not too far run down.
Q:I would like some info on Solar panels and Wind Generators...please?
Toronto would not be higth on my list of solar panel worthy locales. They are a bit pricey and are only cost effective in climates and locations with lots of direct sunlight. But if you could safely say you get direct light on your rood nearly every day, they could work. Wind turbines are getting better... especially omnidirectional dome type turbines. But again they are a bit costly, and work best if you believe you get direct wind for at least half the day. If your roof is reasonably flat and structurally sound, a solar hot water generator can be quite cost effective. Essentially it is a panel of corrugated metal under two thin transparencies of plastic. Water is pumped up to it and as it runs along the corrugation, the trapped heat under the plastic heats it up nicely. They are cheap to buy and easy to build and install, and will completely remove the need for a dedicated hot water heating system. Once again, it really depends on the precise location and construction of your house. Do a search for solar heat in your area. If it is cost effective, someone will be offering...
