if you are looking for a good rug you should know or learn the differences ...wool is the best but it should be worsted so it doesnt shrink as much or bleed colors.alot of those rugs are hand made which is good but alot are manufactured so be careful also beware of the prices obviously you have a laptop so do a lot of research on carpets their textiles and history of area rugs you can get some real good bargains but you will have haggle and jew them down on thier prices cause if they are say asking 200.00 you should pay no more than 90 to 100 understand happy rug hunting

Q:We bought a new white linoleum floor to which we added a couple of bathroom rugs. When I went to pick up the rugs to throw them in the wash, I noticed the floor had yellowed underneath the rug. The stains were same shape of the rugs that covered it. The floor was meant to look like white marble now it looks like yucky yellow snow. How I can get these stains off? Will putting the rugs back down cause it to yellow once again? Shouldn't there be a warning lable on these rugs!

Soak a cleaning rag in water. Make sure that the rag is thoroughly saturated. Do not use hot water, but use room temperature tap water or cool water. Lay the rag on top of the stain. Press the soaking rag onto the stain. The paint will lift out of the carpet and onto the rag. You may need to rinse and repeat this several times to get all the paint out. Resist the urge to scrub until the paint is faded to completely gone. Let the carpet dry. This may take several hours. You will probably need to vacuum to restore the nap, which may be flattened because of the soaking and pressing.

If you're asking how to install new carpet, think carefully before you attempt it. Carpet mechanics have several years experience before they can do it professionally. You need the proper tools. A power stretcher is a plus. The ability to use the proper tension so as not to tear the carpet but assure a tight stretch. A knee kicker a must., and the ability to kick it without damaging your knees. Even those experienced have this happen. If not used properly it can tear out carpet fibers, leaving a bald spot/s. A seaming iron a must, and the knowledge to use it without melting the pile of the carpet. Using the proper heat on the seaming tape. Proper carpet knives, and the ability to properly cut a true and straight edge when seaming fills, and at doorways. Following the wires of the pile when trimming. Knowledge in cutting Across wires in order to make good seams. Proper trimming shears to trim carpet pile when necessary. Wall trimming tool, and ability to trim the correct amount of salvage in order to tuck, without scarring walls. If tack strip needs any replaced, the knowledge to place them at the correct distance from the wall to suit the type of carpet. Ability to hammer nails in the strip without hitting the walls. Strip can be as close as 1 /1/4 from the wall. Inexperienced installers have damaged walls. Problems can be encountered with concrete and must be solved properly. Padding will likely be replaced and adhered to the floor at a correct distance from tackstrip. This is not a job for amateurs. Carpet is too expensive today to screw it up. You could injure your back and knees.

Carpeting okorder . Think about it for a second, when you put shampoo in your hair, do you not rinse it out. Many products on the market are a rip off, and this foaming spray is one of them. The carpet needs to be hot water rinsed and extracted to come clean, and no, this does not hurt the carpet.

Q:I recently had an incident with my toddler and a light candle. The wax went all over the carpet.. bright red wax, and white carpet. I have tried using a carpet cleaner and hand scrubbing it with a brush. Any ideas how to get it out? Thanks

when you get wax on clothing, it comes out by putting it in the freezer, then the wax just chips off, try putting ice in a bag and placing it on top of the carpet, do this for a few days, making sure the ice is always really cold, the wax should eventually chip off! I hope this helps!! :)
