Q:Fire Burnt Carpet !!!!?
yes, a carpet installer can patch it if there can be found a piece of carpet that closely matches it.if you can get it at a carpet store that would be the best, otherwise you can take a piece out of a bedroom closet or somewhere it won't be as can do it yourself but it is very complicated to explain on here.basically it is like a patch.
Q:Ink on carpet?
You will probably need to resort to a solvent type cleaner that will actually dissolve the ink, especially now that it is dry. Perhaps something like Energene would do the trick. GOOD LUCK!
Q:Can you glue down regular carpet and padding?
Glue down carpet doesn't have padding underneath, so it's usually reserved for commercial spots or basements where it's not high traffic. Doing that to a regular carpet that isn't commercial grade will cause it to wear out much quicker than usual. You would also spend much more in buying all the glue to lay it properly, not to mention enough for the padding as well; rather than just buying the tack-strips and laying it that way. It's not that tough to put the tack-strips down yourself, the only tough part is kicking and stretching the carpet. You'll need to at least rent a kicking tool to get it done properly.
Q:Lakeville Carpet Cleaner?
I They get the stains completely out. And the odors are non existant!
Q:Stain out of a carpet?
Not any more. It's dried.
Q:How many types of horse rugs?
Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
Q:carpet stain?
I'm with sstephsanderss. I typically use a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water (can be made stronger for tougher stains) for carpet stains. Borax and water is another great stain remover. I have successfully used these methods to clean every stain on our carpet.
Q:How do you clean an old wool area rug?
Since you don't have a cleaning service in your area;I would recomend taking it to laundry mat that has commerical washers and add 1/2 cup woolite and wash on the lowest setting and then take home and place over railing or flat surface and let air dry. I do this with my Oriental area rugs. If a laundry mat is unavailable; use the recomendation above in your bath tub; squeezing gently after your drain tub and then palce over railing or place on flat surface.
Q:What rug pad brand would you recommend for a persian rug on a limestone floor?
You shouldn t use a true pad or sorts. The best I ve seen for area rugs in a line called Rug Hold. Its a non skid underlay ment for rugs. Come in a wide variety of sizes and types . The type you need is for rug over hard surface. Now there are some felts that can be added to the backing of a rug but w/o seeing yours its hard to say if you can add it or not. Any padding for carpet will not work properly and actually be a tripping hazard, even a thin 1/4 rubber pad. Any question you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:my cat is pissing my off by pissing on my new rug!!!!!!?
I agree with the other posts that you should have him evaluated for a urinary tract infection. Sometimes cats will pick a place that you're sure to notice because they're in distress. UTI's are very treatable but you need to take him asap to rule this out. Also, I agree, if you can't throw the rug in the wash, then I would throw it away. Cats tend to go back to the same place to pee. I also read somewhere that rugs with a rubber backing are more likely to attract peeing cats - something about the smell. Even though we can't smell the rubber scent, I'm sure that cats can. Good luck!
