Q:Alright, we've lived in this apartment for a year and three months, and we're on our third vacuum cleaner. The first two were Eureka's, then we bought a cheap bissel this last time. I had been taking excellent care of my vacuums, right down to washing the dirt cups, filter and cleaning out the carpet brushes with every use. I couldn't figure out why we were going through them like we were, but everyone suggested that cat hair is clogging them and burning them up. The newest started acting up within two uses (and it's not a large apartment, and we have one cat who hardly sheds, and we clean on a regular basis. Anyways, I tore the stupid thing apart to find MOUNDS of cat hair clogged in it. There was at least enough to be the size of a softball in the hose. So, how the heck is this thing clogging so fast, and what can I do to prevent it? I can't be tearing the stupid thing apart after every use, I refuse to shave or get rid of the cat and I can't exactly just stop vacuuming. Help me please!
I used to have cats (now have dogs!) and my all time favorite vacuums for cats is the Fantom. Has a bin and no bag, you can see what is going in, is easy to clean after each and every use. The first time I used it, It filled up with so much cat hair (keep in mind I HAD a vacuum I had just replaced!) that I emptied it over 10X just vacuuming the dining room, which wasn't THAT big! I was stuptified! Seeing all that cat hair was really an eye opener! So I suggest finding a GOOD vacuum, not a cheapo one, and one that has the container that you can empty (I have seen others says they HATE them cause they are messy to empty, I do mine over the trash can outside into a box I pick up from like Sams Club. I have found stuff I didn't know was in there, jewelry, earrings, money, you name it). With a bag, you toss it, not knowing you threw it out! Plus with the canister, I can what is going in and if anything is going in or not. I know clog has happened, which RARELY happens, since I can see what is going in and how fast, I can adjust my speed or decrease it too! Hope this helps you! Good luck!
Q:I bought two vacuum cleaners two years ago and now, for this New Year, I want to buy something better than a vacuum cleaner, which can cleanse the floors thoroughly and shoul be cheap. Is there such a product? If so, Please recommend them to me. Thanks.
try a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. steam cleaners and dry cleaners are probably too expensive, and a wet'n'dry is only about twice the price of a good vacuum. but really, if u have a good vacuum to start with, you cant get much better. also there are such things as 'power heads' to attach to the vacuum tube. they have rotating brushes and the like inside and help get difficult dirts (pet hair is the worst ive found, and a powerhead makes it a lot easier to remove from carpet) this prompts the question, are you using it on carpet?(recommended) there are better products for other surfaces
Q:Where on Oahu can I sell my 4 rainbow vacuum cleaners?
You are the one that wanted the sales job.
Q:I live in a townhouse area that is only separated from the other houses by walls. Almost everyday I hear my neighbour's vacuum cleaner for about 30 minutes at a time. I know that nobody could have carpets dirty enough to require that much vacuuming. I just hope it is nothing sexual. What do you all think?
hmm.......creepy....im sure he/she isnt vacuuming becuz like u said, nobody's carpets need to be cleaned that much maybe it IS sexual? ask ur neighbors maybe, but then that would be kind of nosy i guess ur just gonna hav to wait until one day u find out! its a mystery yet to be solved! lol
Q:We were looking to get a few rooms professionally cleaned in our home. However, what is the biggest diff btw. Chem-dry places and regular companies, like COIT or Stanley Steemer. We know the thing about no liquid/water, but does that make a diffference? Anything else? Because the cost between the 2 is quite a bit, so we were wondering if it makes up for it. Thanks!
I had my carpets professionaly cleaned (with water) and they looked no better than when I did them myself with my household steamer, or rental unit's in the past.
Q:Are there any full-size vaccum cleaners that are battery operated, rather than dragging around that long cord?
There are such vacuum cleaners generally used for gardens or lawns.
Q:case in point: we have bought two vacuum cleaners in the last 4 years that have stopped working. i mean, we only vacuum once a week or so, and these were name brand vacuums like hoover and such for around $100 or so. they shouldn't have died so quickly. anyway, i bought an antique vacuum from the 1940s off OKorder and it works like a dream. i imagine if it has lasted 60 years, it will serve me well for many more. i am just sick of cheap products. anyone else buy antiques instead of quot;brand newquot;?
I hate buying junk. Problem is by and large it's not cheap. If the vacuum you mentioned were, say, ten bucks you might not feel so angry. Then you would know it is cheap. But to pay a hundred bucks for a ten dollar vacuum wrankles me. Wally World strikes again! Always the low QUALITY, always!. Thanks for letting me vent.
Q:what would you do if you woke up one day and had vacuum cleaners for legs.?
I think that would suck. What do you wanna bet I'm not the only one to fall for that set up!
Q:Do any ladies have an old vacuum cleaner that they would love to part with? I'm looking for some older style soft-bag uprights if possible. What style/color do you have? Thanks!!
none, haven't used those in yrs a have a whole house vac, system go to s used store or swap meet, they may have some cheap.
Q:I am wondering if vacuum cleaners are tax free right now since I am moving out for college and need one
Depending upon where you live they would be. Some states are having a tax free week-end that ends today (Sunday) Some states like (New Hampshire) a vacuum cleaner is tax free all the time.
