- its up to you if you want to do it or not.. its just as safe as a normal cartilage piercing but DO NOT get it done with a gun please as its really unsafe. if you get it numbed it doesn't hurt at all, just a bit of pressure. i had mine done and i didn't believe they'd done it as i didn't feel it. it is quite hard to heal, i've had it done for about 4 months and it still hurts a bit, but i recently got some zinc tablets and its made it loads better! needs to be cleaned regularly too. hope this helps, it'll look gorgeous if you do, make sure you aren't gonna regret it though because you are quite young.

- If you only need the top to be 6' high, why not rent one? Go to a rental yard and rent a baker. It's 6' tall, and has holes in the frame every 6 or so. This allows you to build it on stairs. It's a safe alternative to building your own. Hope this helps.
