Q:1) How does the type of wire affect resistance?2) How does the length of wire affect resistance?3) How does the diameter of the wire affect resistance?4) How does temperature affect resistance?
1) How does the type of wire affect resistance? - This property is called resistivity changes from material to material very low for metals 2) How does the length of wire affect resistance? - If material and other dimensions are same it increases in the same ratio as the length.[If l doubles resistance doubles] 3) How does the diameter of the wire affect resistance?- If material and other dimensions are same itdecreases in the same ratio as the square of the diameter.[If diameter doubles resistance becomes one fourth] 4) For metals, the resistivity increases linearly with temperature. 4) How does temperature affect resistance?
Q:I keep trying to strip this damned wire but the copper wire inside the tubeing constantly ends up getting split apart instead of staying together. Im pretty sure Im doing it right Ive done it before easily. The wire is very old though could that be the problem?
A good stripper has settings for each wire size. Make sure you have it set to the correct size. Are you nicking the wire or cutting some of the strands? if not, then that the wire gets split is not a problem. Just twist the strands back together. ending up stranded? the wire starts out solid or stranded, you can't make solid into stranded. .
Q:I dont understand it I am trying to get a 1ohm load on a 2ohm dvc speaker but cant figure out how to tell if the wire you connect in the postive terminal on the sub in a neg wire or positive how do you tell what the gray line is on this diagram positive or negetive and how to tell. thanks
the wire (s) should be either silver or Gold Or 1 solid color wire 1 wire with a stripe
Q:I have a 220v single phase kiln with two red wires labeled L1 and L2, and one white wire labeled N. It did not come with the plug, so I bought one and new wire 3/c 10awg, but it has ground(green), Hot(black), and neutral(White). I dont know how to proceed with wiring? any help would be great. Thanks. Jose
Sure you don't have a 110 volt cord? Hook one red to black. One red to white.
Q:I just bought a set of performance sparkplug wires for my 2001 Chevy Cavalier. I went to install them and my engine is now misfiring like one of the wires in not connected. I have made sure all of the wires are on tight and in place. The wires did not come numbered so i just put them on according to size. What could be the problem???
I would beleive you have them incorrectly. the cylinders are numbered 1234 from the passenger side to the drivers side. check to make sure they are on the right cylinders. If its a DIS ignition the coils are numbered.
Q:I am replacing my old electric oven with a new one. The wires on the old oven are the same as the wires on the new oven...white, red, black, and a bare wire. The wires running from the fuse box to the junction box are...white, black, and bare wire. This is 220/240 wiring from the fuse box. The oven does require 220/240. How do I wire the new oven?
No. Any electrical appliance must be wired to meet, city, state, and local fireplace Deparment codes. By and large, the latter is the strictest. In most instances, this requires an character circuit . As most ovens are 230 Volt, AC, it would require no smaller that 12 guage wire, hooked up in conduit, from the breaker box, to the receptical. The receptical need to be an accepted range receptical. This circuit will have to be linked on the breaker box, to a minimum of a 30 amp, double pole, single throw breaker. A 40 amp breaker could also be required in some states. The applying should be wired, from the terminal block, with an accredited range twine.. Some cities might also require a permit, and /or a licensed electrician. Which you can by and large get the appropriate codes at your regional metropolis administrative center, or the neighborhood fireplace Station. As consistently, when working with electrical circuits, disconnect the vigor on the important breaker, and set up a tag-outlock out device on the breaker box, to avert electricution. Q:I need a wiring diagram for a 1983 honda rebel, its a 250cc parallel twin, i really need the ignition wiring diagram but i can't seem to find one. If anyone knows the letters (xx250,xx125) then that would help to. Thank you in advance.

Q:So ground wire, start anywhere i suppose?Where does ground wire hook up too?why you need to ground out your system?Only need 1 ground wire?
Ground wires complete the circuit and need to be connected to metal on the cars chassis. keep the connections as short as possible. Clean all the paint off the area , use a wire brush ect to remove all paint to bare metal you can use existing bolts/ screws or install your own , use the same gauge ground wire as you use for the power wire
Q:Is there special speaker wire in order to run 250 watts max rms or will the oem speaker wire in the car be sufficient (did not originally have an amp and is most likely at 50 watts max rms). If I need a special wire for that please let me know what it is called and possibly an example link. Thanks!
most likely the wire pre ran in the car was 16 guage wire which is fairly small id recomend atleast 12G for speakers and 8G for a power wire.
Q:I'm doin this thing where I need to connect some wires and one part uses Apple iPod headphones. Inside those wires, they have insulation. I burnt the wires so the insulation would not be in the way. Will the wires still conduct the electricity? Or will I just need to find some other headphones without insulation to do this with?
It would help to know exactly what you're trying to do here. Like Gary said, I'm not sure what you mean by inside those wires they have insulation. I'm trying to guess what you're trying to do here and you say you need to connect some wires. Are you trying to connect two sets of insulated wires together? If so, I'm guessing that you needed to strip the insulation off of the ends of the wires to expose the conductors and connect together? If that's the case, usually we use a wire stripper or a small razor blade to cut the insulator around the wire and then pull off the sheath, leaving clean wire underneath. Burning the insulation off is not going to make copper wire not work (if you oxidized the copper, you'd have to heat it way hotter than a typical flame, and it would not be metal any more--it would be crispy). So if you still have flexible metal left over after burning off the insulation, then you still have a conductor. The problem, and the reason why we don't usually burn off insulation is that you're going to end up with a bunch of burnt up goo and oxides on the surface of your wire which will make it not connect well with another wire surface to surface. You can probably solve this problem by lightly sanding or scratching the burnt parts of the wires. Or just cut off the burnt part and try stripping it with a blade instead. Then make sure to insulate your connection with electrical tape or something so that you don't have bare wires that can touch each other and short out. If you're trying to do something different, please explain more. In general, though, you're not going to ruin copper by burning it, but you will tend to coat the outside of the wire with stuff that doesn't insulate well. You want shiny copper when you are connecting two pieces together.
