Q:okay i get the part where its one down, 5 up and ease off the clutch and give gas just like a manual car...but the last answerer said but dont hit the right brake by your foot unless you have too, youll skidso what do i use then, the front brake? i dont want to front flip?i appreciate the concern though btw but i have confidence and thnx ppl =]
Over the bar is one of the oldest fallacies in bikes, Sport bikes have only been able to make stoppies for about 10-15 years. Cruisers and standards still cant.Using the front brake first does 80% of normal braking. Rear brakes are used but don't stand on it too hard. It's one of the arts of riding
Q:Does it matter if i extend the hydraulic brake line/hose of a motorcycle brake?? Present hose/line is about 3feet and want to get a 7feet hose? Will it affect performance? Thank you guys
If you are using rubber hose yes it can. Why the added length? It will take more fluid with the longer lines, and can get caught on a part of it ripping it out because of the additional length. The manufacturer used shorter lines for a reason.
Q:What sound do motorcycle brakes make when they lock?
I agree with Jimmy, once the brakes lock up they no longer make any sound because they're not turning. The sound you hear is the tire sliding on the road. This is definitely not a preferred sound. If you think you have a problem with your brakes locking up, you need to stop riding the bike immediately and get it checked. Like Jimmy said, if the front locks up, worse case you're over the bars and best case the front end slides out from under you and you're down anyway. Stop riding it and get it fixed!
Q:In nj is a moped considered a small motorcycle?
A moped has pedals. A scooter is step though twist a go.
Q:i never rode but wanna ride but cant tell the outcome of my future.
There are risks in everything that you do, riding a motorcycle can be dangerous but with proper training and the more experience you get, the more alert you will become to potential dangers. If you are considering whether or not to ride, I would suggest you sign up for a motorcycle safety course. I have been riding back when Florida only required a driver's license to ride a motorcycle so I didn't have to take the course. After 25 years of riding I finally took the course and learned some things I didn't know. It is well worth it to ensure you will have a safe ride. Safety also is dependent on the person driving, if you drive crazy or impaired your risks are much greater.
Q:Kinmen and Matsu motorcycle did not brake how the matter
I do not know the disc brake or drum brake, if it is disc brake, check the brake pump is damaged, whether the lack of brake oil, brake system is leaky oil, brake pads are too large or improper installation. If it is drum brake, check the brake shoe is excessive wear, brake cable is broken or improper adjustment and so on.
Q:Which motorcycle is better: Suzuki GSXR 1300 or Kawasaki ZX12R, 2000 - not limited series?
They are roughly equivalent. Personally I think Suzuki just generally makes a better product, but I know a lot of people love Kawis and we're all entitled to our preferences. If you just want a really, really fast bike, you'd probably be happy with either of them.
Q:I have a 2001 Suzuki GZ250 Motorcycle. When it gets cold at times it will not start unless it gets flooded with gas. For 2 years it did not have this problem until now. I have rebuilt the carburetor, changed the petcock, and put in a new battery and starter cable. It does not do this so much but it still does from time to time? One mechanic ripped me off about $800. The mechanic shop I go to now seems to be doing a good job and I have spent over $1700 with this shop but this motorcycle still has this problem. What can it be? Since it did not have this problem for two years I think it is fixable. Or am I being taken for a ride again with the shop I go to? I want to save this motorcyclee because everything has been changed on it except for the motor and transmission. When it does start it runs very well. It just has this one problem. What can it posibly be?
The guys that are charging you $1700 had better supply you with a long list of parts. If not complain to the manager and see if you can get it resolved. Sounds like the float is sticking which is causing gas to run out, or it could be a faulty low speed jet. Regardless, this should be a less than $200 repair job to pull carb and rebuild it correctly. YOUR carb rebuild sounds as if it is the problem Now go drink a beer and relax.
