Q:After searching for over a month, I finally found a perfect rug. Unfortunately, I need it in an 8x10 or larger, so now I'm at a loss. Does anyone know of a rug that looks like this one?
Pier one or ikea sometimes even TJ- Maxx
Q:I am looking for a recipe that I can put in a spray bottle. A lot of the homemade concoctions I'm finding are ones that require dumping and rubbing into the stain, which I don't want to do as I have hardwood underneath and I've already overwashed my carpets from when my dogs were puppies. A lot of the store bought cleaners have discolored my carpets. I would like a solution I can spray on and blot up. Thanks
Dawn dish soap does wonders on oily stains. Scrub it in and rinse well. Then wash as usual. I've also had really good luck with just covering a stain with liquid Tide, letting it sit, then washing. As far as the carpet, I just just plain hot water on mine. I have a light weight Bissell carpet cleaner. It doesn't do a professional job, but it works pretty well. I wouldn't use anything flammable on either your clothes, nor your carpet. On your clothes, even rinsed out, it is not advisable to dry it in a dryer, as the oil from the flammable chemicals do not rinse out easily. On the carpet, you never know when heat, or a spark could come in contact with the floor, and having your living room burst into flames would not be fun.
Q:A: is it good to lay full carpets in the bedroom?
the cost of carpet is not low, and maintenance is also troublesome. No matter how less things in bedroom, it still has blind angle, this will make the carpet breed bacteria easily.
Q:My cat likes to back her rear end up to the edge of the litter box, resulting in her 'missing the target' and getting cat urine on my carpet. She also likes to kick the litter out of the box.In using a carpet cleaner, some of the litter left a grey-ish stain on my tan carpet. As we are renting this home, new carpet is not an option.Would a Rug Doctor remove this stain? Would it just make the stain worse, by getting more of the litter wet?
I think shampooing will remove the stains.
Q:My puppy ate up a 1 by 1 inch square on my very old furry carpet. Will this harm him?He is a 21 week old shiba inu.
Nothing in the carpet should be harmful to him, but the carpet being in him could potentially be harmful. Depending on how much and how big of chunks he ate, it could cause a gastrointestinal blockage. Additionally, if the carpet is stiff with any sharp edges (like on the bottom) it could potentially perforate internal organs as it digests. He may pass it on his own, but keep an eye on him. If he displays any sensitivity to touch to his belly, vomiting, unwillingness to eat or constipation, take him to the vet. I would also monitor his stool closely. First, make sure he's going regularly. Second, check the stool for fibers or pieces of the carpet to see if it's passed.
Q:Which is the simpliest way to clean and remove spots from dirty carpet, without using commercial shapoo?
It really depends upon what the stains are. Different products and methods work for different stains. Here are some excellent and practical sites that will help you with a whole variety of stains. Best of luck with it.
Q:I want to buy area rugs?details please.?
Custom woven rugs. I found this place when visiting in New Orleans. I saw Sir Anthony Hopkins in there and was amazed by what they do. Their rugs are not exactly cheap but are labors of love. I never knew what it took to make a rug like the ones they offer. Custom color combinations and a variety of dimensions. They ship too.
Q:How can I remove wax from may carpet?
Use boiling water to the melt the wax , it'll float over the water and you can suck it it up with a wet dry vaclum cleaner. you must do qiuck before it get in to the carpet again with the water. Off course, you have to remove the large portion of it by breaking it with your hand or a scraper. Be carefull not to caut the carpet. Good Luck!
Q:We have a fantastic purple sheepskin rug that is in need of a really good clean, (4 year old and kitten have seen to that) is it safe to machine wash it or do i have to get it dry cleaned?
No. The fur will turn into a lumpy, matted mess. Take it to a dry cleaners. They'll charge you about $20, but it will come back like new. I had a small sheepskin that I got for my dogs to lie on and, of course, they got it pretty stinky. I washed it in the washing machine and it came out all matted and tangled. I also had a larger sheepskin rug that I sent to a dry cleaners and it came back like new.
Q:I'd like to know how REAL fur coats, bear skin rugs, etc. are made (by hand not industrial process) as I don't believe its tanning like in leather as it requires the fur to be stripped. I know the animal is killed and harvested, but someone please start after that and tell me as I'm trying to do research for a story I'm working on and I have no experience at this aspect. And if you have an idea of how long they last I'd appreciate it. Also, are they as soft and flexible as it seems or are they harder like leather? Thank you. Also I know its a cruel process and all so please no sarcasm.
Many of us wear them, but we don't actually make them into coats or rugs. They're ALREADY sold in stores ready to wear. My very first fur coat was from a curly lamb suede outside, fur inside.
