To remove nail polish from carpets, nail polish remover will work but you need to use caution because it can also remove dye from your carpet or upholstery. You can try and bleach your carpet, but only if you have a white carpet. also; You can remove nail polish stain of a fabric, carpets, and counter tops using Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. We tried it on our quilt an it made the nail polish stain just disappear, like magic! You can purchase it at any hardware store. We purchased it at The Home Depot for about $6.00. It also removes permanent ink and marker stains.

Q:ive got 2 rugs in my kitchen i need to wash but they have a rubber back and im worried if i put them in the washier the rubber will wear off. last time i washed my fathers rugs for him the rubber started to come off in small chunks (it was also the first time they had ever been washed) and i dont want the same to happen to mine. im not worried about drying them id just lay them outside on the porch rail and let them air dry. does anyone have any suggestions? if i hand wash them will they get just as clean as if they were washed in the washer?

You can wash the rugs in your washing machine. Regular detergent, fabric softener optional. (I never use it for rugs.) If you're worried about the rubber backing, use the Cold water option, and let them air dry. However...here's the caveat: If you wash the rugs and allow them to air dry, they won't look fluffy. They'll look a little matted. You can fluff them a little with a clean hair brush after they've dried or run them through the dryer on Fluff, but to make the rugs look really fluffy and pretty, you'll need to dry them in your dryer. If you dry the rugs in your dryer, the rubber backing will break down. It's a Catch-22. So your choices: 1. Wash them in Cold water and let them air dry. Then fluff them with a hair brush...or run them on the no heat option. This will preserve the rubber backing, but the rugs won't be as fluffy as they looked new. - or - 2. Wash them and dry them in the dryer. This will make the rugs beautifully fluffy, but the backing will come off in pieces. Good luck. -

Q:I need to carpet my whole house because there are extremely ugly tiles throughout the house. I cannot afford professional carpeting. I want to do it myself. My questions are: do carpet tiles look good? And approximately whats the price of carpet tiles, the amount for one regular size room?

Carpet tiles look fine. I'm in a commercial building where carpet tiles are used almost everywhere, and they look and function quite well. They also have the advantage that if damage occurs, or wear becomes too noticeable, the tiles can be pulled up and replaced. Prices vary a lot according to the design, depth of the pile, resistance to wear, etc.

Q:I have a 1 yr old Male, fixed, cat. He's never given me ANY problems. except lately he's been urinating on the bathroom rug.. Well, it sounds worse than it really is.. he did it once, then I washed the rug.. it was clean for a day.. then he peed on it once again. A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug.
