Black Silicon Carbide is produced with high temperature in a electric resistant furnace from a mixture of quartz sand and petroleum coke. Its hardness is between that of fused alumina and synthetic diamond and mechancial intensity of it is also greater than that of fused alumina. It is brittle and very sharp and  has a certain degree of electrical and heat conductivity

Q:What is carbon composite refractories? I hope that the answer is in detail.
Q:What materials is silicious thermal insulation board made of?
Refractories that contain more than 93% of the monox are acidic refractory materials which include ordinary silica brick, high-density and high-purity silica brick, silica brick that contains chromium, fused quartz products, unburned brick and siliceous ramming materials. It has good softening temperature under a fixed load and can resist corrosion of acid slag, but will have chemical reaction with alkaline slag. Silicious refractory of industrial value mainly is crystalline quartz, such as α and β quartz, tridymite and cristobalite.
Q:What are the fire resistance ratings of the glass partition?
When the inner structure of the system is steel structure, the fire resistance of which is 30 mins, 60mins or even longer. The partitions in the usual sense are walls that have a distance to the ceiling. The fixed partitions directly touches the ceiling are partition walls which should be required in accordance to the specifications of walls. If the partition is far from the ceiling, the fire protection requirements are relatively low. Partitions which combustion performances are no less than B1 level are safe enough, while partitions of places such as shopping malls have to reach A-level in terms of combustion performance.
Q:What requirements should refractory materials meet?
Ladle is an necessary equipment to undertake molten steel and continuous casting. As many kinds of steel needs to be processed in the ladle, including argon blowing tempering, alloy composition fine-tuning, refining dusting and vacuum processing, working conditions of the ladle lining have worsened. Their working conditions are as follows. (1) The temperature of molten steel is higher than mold casting ladle. (2) the molten steel stays longerin the ladle. (3) ladle lining are subjected to volatilization and agitation of molten steel under high temperatures and in vacuum. (4) The impact on the lining when undertaking steel liner when the impact effect. Therefore requirements of the ladle refractories are as follows: (1) It can resist high temperature. Molten steel should be able to withstand high temperatures without melting. (2) It can resist thermal shock and can withstand molten steel without cracking and spalling. (3) It can resist slag erosion. The ladle should be able to withstand the erosion of lining caused by slag and alkalinity changes of slag. (4) it should have sufficiently high temperature mechanical strength to withstand the agitation and scouring of molten steel. (5) lined should have certain swelling property so that lining will be united as a whole under the effect of hyperthermal molten steel.
Q:Is there anyone who can explain how to grade the level of fire insulation board?
The classification of fire proof level for thermal insulating material 1, Burning performance of building material can be classified into the following several grade according to national standard GB8624-97: Non combustible building materials: Non-conbustible material. Class B1: Refractory building materials: Flame retardant materials have good flame retardant effect.
Q:What is the criterion of entry of refractory clay industry?
Chemical composition of refractory clay is one of the important factors affecting its quality. Al2O3 is the beneficial part of refractory clay, and it mainly exists in aluminum hydroxide minerals (diaspore, boehmite, gibbsite), and it also exists in aluminosilicate minerals (kaolinite, illite montmorillonite, etc.). In general, the content of Al2O3 in soft and semi-soft clay is 30% to 45%, the hard clay is 35% to 50%, and high alumina clay 55% to 70%. Fe2O3 mainly exists in hematite, magnetite, goethite and siderite, and is the main harmful component of refractory clay. There is no evident law on the content of Fe2O3. The content in high alumina clay is 0.5% to 2.2%, hard clay is 0.5% to 2.5%, and the soft clay is generally 1.0% to 2.5%. K2O and Na2O are harmful impurities in refractory clay, which mainly exist in illite and mica and other minerals, and the content varies greatly. CaO and MgO, etc., although they are harmful impurities, but the content is generally small.
Q:How to make the service life of refractory materials longer?
Take acid resistant refractory materials as example: the atmosphere should be acidic atmosphere, if used in an environment whose temperature is 1900℃, it would exacerbate the loss of refractory materials, so don’t use overloaded. Second, select the appropriate refractory materials according to the environment. For example, if its operating temperature is 1800℃, generally speaking, the normal use of it according to the instruction of refractory materials would be fine.
Q:How many kinds of refractory materials are there in the EI?
I suggest that you contribute articles to foreign SCI journals for the odds are better, and generally the articles that fill the bill will not be rejected. The traditional refractory materials can contribute to EI journal. If being rejected by EI journal, you can also contribute to Russia's journal Industrial Ceramics and Refractories. I didn't contribute to the Journal of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, the receiving cycle is almost 3 to 4 months. Though the impact factor is low, domestic EI journal is not so good, it is still SCI journal. This is my own experience, please take my advice. The best journals are the Journal of the American Ceramic Society and the Journal of the European Ceramic Society, I heard that they are not bad. But the best domestic EI refractory material journal is the Journal of The Chinese Ceramic Society. It is very long, but if it belongs to your university, it is another pair of shoes. Journals now all want to have materials about functional ceramics, and they don't want Chinese articles, if your English is not well enough, you can choose Ceramics International and Japan Ceramics but they have strict manuscripts reviewing standards.
Q:How to use fireclay?
Mix refractory cement (ie aluminate cement CA50) with some refractory aggregate (bauxite, slag from flint clay) and powder (ie, crushed aggregate). Add some water to the mixture and stir, and it can be used. The clinker can be refractory powder.
Q:How can refractory material of the electric furnace be used for longer.
Do not exceed the temperature, do not exceed the limits of use in order to achieve the best performance and the longest service life
