Q:My apartments carpet.?
each state has its own rules but when one has rented 8 yrs it is a given that the carpet will have to be replaced, unless extreme care was taken to maintain it
Q:alternative to re-carpeting... ???
imitation hardwood flooring... cleans well, and wears well. you can get it much cheaper than carpeting
Q:how to get soy sauce out of carpet?
Go to the pet store and get Natures Mericle (sorry for bad spelling) it will take anything out of anything. Also the enzymes in milk might take it out. Put milk on a rag and blot or rub the area see if that helps ;)
Q:if I bleach and dye throw rugs, will they turn out okay?
It would probably be less hassle to get new ones. But if you want to dye them, here are some tips: do NOT bleach them to remove the chemicals. when you buy the dye, there is also a product that you use before hand (usually in the same section) that removes the old colour, first. Use that instead. You will also have to check the fabric, as dyes can only be used on certain ones.
Q:Can you use a tub of oxy powder as carpet cleaner?
As a carpet cleaning pro, I've seen hundreds of damaged carpets, mostly Nylon or Polyester, where a laundry product permanently damage the carpet dyes. When inquiring as to what caused the damage, the number one culprit was Oxy Clean Laundry Detergent. About 6 years ago, I came across a couple who used this product to fine tune the spills and stains in their carpet, severly damaging the Nylon carpet in numerous areas. They did receive a settlement from the Oxy company at that time to help replace their carpet. Their ads made it sound like they had a miracle product available. If you have Olefin carpeting, a laundry detergent may not hurt these fibers, but why take a chance. Never use bleach on any spill or stain on furniture or carpeting. I've seen thousands of damaged carpets cause by the mis - use of this laundry product.
Q:Carpet protectors for heavy recliner sofas?
Hi, I am a carpet fitter and have been for 7 years. One of the biggest parts of my job is moving furniture for the eldery customers so I can fit the carpet. You do see coaster type things under chairs and sofa's etc. This seems to make very little if any difference at all. The only advice I can give you is to avoid underlay and go for a thin pile carpet as that does help with preventing an indentation. If the sofa or chairs way a lot you will get a slight indentation anyway. Although avoiding underlay will not feel nearly as nice to walk on. You may be able to buy specialist one's but if you put enough pressure on a particular area/area's of a carpet you will get an indentation. Please message me for further help and I will be more than willing to do so. Joe Kingsland Floors
Q:How to remove mustard from carpet???
There are lots of carpet cleaners that will get the stain out, but the one that I can always rely on is the Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner. It's like a vacuum that sucks up the stains! And not only can you use it on the mustard stain, but you can use it on your whole carpet. It's probably your only hope right now, because mustard dyes carpet for good. You can find one at Home Depot, Lowes, Bloom, or Shoppers Food Warehouse. Satisfaction guaranteed. Best of luck!!! ♥
Q:How can I dye an oriental rug?
You want to do this at a laundromat, biggest machine possible. in cold water, bleach the rug. It may take two tries---using the largest possible machine, try a cup of detergent and a cup of bleach, and see what happens. If you get the desired shade, or lighten it enough, then you can immediately dye it (To a darker shade, of course.) Otherwise, double or triple the bleach, no detergent, and run it again. You may put additional bleach in the compartment where the fabric softener goes, and it will bleach it again on the rinse cycle. After you dye it, as a courteousy to the next person, run it through a cycle with detergent, empty. Or you can do a load of dark, old clothes, like blue jeans. To dry it, lay it on a flat surface, turning it occasionally, and avoid direct sunlight, ideally it will be in the shade on a warm, breezy day. If indoors, dry it on an old sheet on a carpet, with a fan pointed at it, again, turning it every hour or two. Good-luck---Brian
Q:Place to get a good rug?
Depending on what your budget is, HOM furniture has some really great rugs that are higher quality, or IKEA also has some good stuff that's just more casual, and some fairly good fancy/oriental rugs too.
Q:how to remove ingrained carpet stains?
Chewing it but it can cause enamel and dentin tooth deterioration.
