Q:Where can I find the info (sites) that clearly gives the anatomy of a solar panel?Likewise, I want to know where can I find (sites) the solar panel that produces 3.75 v? Thank you very much!!!
You've probably seen calculators that have solar cells -- calculators that never need batteries, and in some cases don't even have an off button. As long as you have enough light, they seem to work forever. You may have seen larger solar panels -- on emergency road signs or call boxes, on buoys, even in parking lots to power lights. Although these larger panels aren't as common as solar powered calculators, they're out there, and not that hard to spot if you know where to look. There are solar cell arrays on satellites, where they are used to power the electrical systems. You have probably also been hearing about the solar revolution for the last 20 years -- the idea that one day we will all use free electricity from the sun. This is a seductive promise: On a bright, sunny day, the sun shines approximately ,000 watts of energy per square meter of the planet's surface, and if we could collect all of that energy we could easily power our homes and offices for free.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a parking lot or carport?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a parking lot or carport. This type of installation is commonly known as solar carports. Solar carports provide shade for parked vehicles while generating clean and renewable energy. They are becoming increasingly popular as they offer dual benefits of generating electricity and providing shelter.
Q:I have a cabin that is way out in the middle of no where, it would cost 000's of dollars to get power to it. If I have a 8,000 BTU air conditioner that runs on 25 volts and 5 amps (or 875 watts)How many solar panels will I need to run this during the day, plus charge the batteries to run it all night? How many batteries would I need
OK, in addition to the solar panels, you wil need an inverter (DC to AC; 2V t0 20V) capable of delivering 20A continuously and as much as 40A for the compressor starting surge, and a fairly large battery bank capable of delivering something over 2000 watts continuously (losses in the charging and conversion process) as well as the surge. So, if your actual demand is now calculated around 2000 watt/hour, and you need to both run the unit and charge batteries during the daylight hours - and considering that the ideal charging rate for a lead-acid battery is on the order of 0% of its capacity, you will need a huge reserve on the battery section and a huge excess on the solar section to make up for the 5 hours maximum input. So, the average high-quality deep-discharge battery will do about 400Ah @ 2.6V. Which comes to 5040 watts for one hour. For round figures, it will give you 2000 watts for 2.5 hours. You will need a minimum of eight of them just to make your system run for the 9 hours you are anticipating. Given that you do not want to run the batteries to zero each night, a 50% reserve would be a wise investment - comes to now twelve (2) batteries. Now, you will have to make 2000 watts (to run the unit) and also produce and another 8600 (per hour for five hours) watts to charge the batteries for the next night. Again, for round figures, you will need 0,000 watts of solar power, or seventy (70) panels. At ~0 watts/s.f. (00 watts/meter), that comes to about 000 square feet or 00 square meters. Modern non-crystaline panels may reduce this by 20%, or so but no more than that. You will be charging the batteries at roughly 20% of their discharge capacity - which will pretty much cut their service live in half, or so. As the average deep-discharge battery has about an 8-year life span under ideal conditions (and your situation will be far from ideal) you may expect to replace them every four years or so with good care. Much less with no care.
Q:If i took a lazier pointer and aimed it a solar panel would it take in the light. Also what types of lights would work on a solar panel like L.E.D, uv light bulbs.
a million. Do they scratch actually? No How do I eliminate snow from them without scratching them? purely wipe the snow off 2. What does the maintenance of many image voltaic panels contain? sparkling them with faucet water and paper towels as quickly as a month. 3. Are all image voltaic panels created from the comparable fabric, regardless of length? extremely the comparable.
Q:Are solar panels suitable for all types of roofs?
Solar panels are suitable for most types of roofs, including flat, sloped, and curved roofs. However, the suitability of solar panels depends on factors like the roof's orientation, angle, shading, and structural integrity. It is essential to consult with a solar panel installer or a professional to determine the suitability of solar panels for a specific roof.
Q:what kind of rays are used in solar panels?
Electromagnetic...meaning light rays, primarily in the visible spectrum. Ultraviolet and infrared light rays actually degrade most types of solar panels, limiting their useful lifetime. That said, your question is not stated well...so I'm not sure if that's the information you were looking for. Rays are not used in solar panels...rather solar panels are used to collect sunlight and convert it to energy--either directly into heat in the case of passive solar, or into electricity by the use of photovoltaic cells.
Q:can u use a light bulb instead of the sun to power a solar panel
Yes, but why? If you've got the light-bulb, you've already got more electricity than you will get out of the solar panel.
Q:i don't know very much about it, but can you somehow take off the little solar panels off of the outdoor light things and make it so you can hook an outlet up to it and plug in to it like a phone charger for electricity.
Little solar panels on lights are very low power. The battery in one such may be 0.5 Amp-hours and .2 V ; it may be different but it should be marked on the panel/battery/manual. An outlet in your house is designed to run on 20 V (typically in N. Am.) and they run on alternating current (AC) whereas the panel generates direct current (DC). (If you don't know the difference, do not worry to much but just understand that they are not directly compatible.) You therefore need an inverter to change DC to AC (and lose some although inverters are now very efficient). But the amount of power generated by those panels is still very small. That is why solar lights are low power (just a few watts in most cases). To make things even more irritating, phone chargers do not work off 20 V AC as you are charging the battery and need a low voltage DC -- which is what the solar panel is giving you. It is almost certain that the voltage from the panel will be less than the voltage required for the phone. The charger is mostly cable but there is a black box incorporated and it should say what the voltage and current output are (the input will be 20V). So you should be able to overcome this not by hooking up the panel to a 20V outlet and then plugging the charger in but by hooking up the panel to the phone directly if you can get enough voltage out of the solar panel (or hook up several) and if you fashion a connection device. They already make them -- solar battery chargers and I am sure you can enter that into a search engine and find loads. Typically the panel alone is much more than a solar light -- which shows the relative power requirements.
Q:if i was to put a solar panel (sp) just outside of the earths atmosphere ans another solar panel (sp2) 0km away towards the sun. which one would generate more power (sp or sp2)? and how much more? is there a ratio to work out the power output and distance from the sun? would the 0km distance between the panels make a large difference in power output?many thanks in advance

Q:I've been thinking and I'd like to have solar panels installed on my roof at some point to help reduce our electricity consumption- but I live in IL and in the winter it frequently snows. Is there such a thing as heated solar panels so they don't get coated w/ice or snow? Are solar panels even a feasible option in IL? Thank you, Anna
With state incentives that rank behind only a few states (such as the ones typically associated with solar like Florida and California) somebody definitely thinks solar is right for Illinois. (source is first site below) As for the ice and snow the typical strategy is to have a tilt that allows for only limited accumulation and still has good orientation to the sun. This is frequently talked about in articles in the magazines Homepower and Solar today. Homepower has a site online and some items are free (2nd site) Good Luck
