Q:Can I seal a painted garage floor?
That is a pretty tough one to be honest. I have done some work in this industry and every situation can be a little different depending upon the surface of the concrete you are working on. Smooth concrete with little or no aggregate is a little easier than a surface with clearly visible aggregate/rock. For stripping, start with a commercial grade grinder with a wire brush attached. Don't grind through the concrete but take the old paint off. Using a leaf blower blow all old paint, dust, debris, etc, off. Next, using old rags wipe the ENTIRE area that paint/sealant is to be applied with Xylene (an industrial strength solvent) that is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. Wear gloves as Xylene can be absorbed through the skin and is toxic/carcinogenic. Use the heavy disposable type nitrile gloves as regular latex will deteriorate very quickly from the Xylene. Be certain concrete surface is CLEAN AND DRY. Apply and cure appropriate sealant/paint. There are countless varieties out there depending upon the surface, intended use, chemical and environmental exposure, etc. A word of warning and disclosure, most of the work I did was under the supervision of a foreman and we were fixing botched DIY jobs where average folks tried to seal, paint or surface garages, patios and decks. Often times the highest expense to the customer was the labor cost involved in removing what they tried to apply themselves. I would recommend getting a quote from a licensed contractor who works in the sealants and coating industry first. Make an educated decision from the potential cost of doing it yourself or paying someone who will do and stand by their work....If the paint/surface/sealant fails it will be their dime, not yours. I would go this route myself before doing my own garage and I have done this work in the past. Hope this helps and good luck!
Q:how to keep tile floors clean?
Hi, okorder.com has many answers on cleaning all types of floors. You might want to check them out. I have attached a link that will take you directly to the website and look under ceramic floor cleaning on how to clean stains from ceramic. Whatever you do, DO NOT use anything harsh on the ceramic and never use an acid even like vinegar. It will damage the grout and maybe the ceramic. Good Luck. Also, there is a pad on the market that can help you clean most stains from floors including ceramic stains. the Miracle Pad from Unichem Marketing 708-296-7408 or unichem@sbcglobal.net. A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and a mild floor detergent will most likely remove the stains. The key is either the The Miracle Pad or Magic Eraser pad with the floor detergent.
Q:fix nails in Vinyl Flooring?
If you can't raise the floor and don't want to remove all the nails then your best bet is to put screws in next to the nails. This will hold the subfloor tightly down and help to stop the nails from creeping up. intermittent moisture will still swell and shrink the wood though which will pop up the nails eventually.
Q:Anti-static overhead flooring the most thick and how much
3cm, 3.5cm, 4cm, 4.5cm, wood anti-static overhead floor 4cm, calcium sulfate anti-static floor 3.2cm, 3.5cm, raft open to sell satin slander and other rubbing, etc., all kinds of steel, Advised to roll 4cm, ceramic anti-static floor 4cm, 4.5cm
Q:How to choose to strengthen the floor?
Take sandpaper to polish, if the floor after grinding traces on the bad. General good quality of the floor will not appear too obvious traces!
Q:How to repair the floor seam
On the `` .. from the red press down on the very simple
Q:Is There Secret 13th FlOor?
The reason there is no 13th floor is because some people are afraid of the number 13 (Triskaidekaphobia) so that the apartment block owners can (hopefully) attract more people to stay in the apartments.
Q:Cheapest way to fix an uneven floor?
if your down to the sub floor, you can put down 1/4 inch backer board on top of the sub floor. then the difference can be made up with the laminate. laminate floor comes in different thicknesses. when you say your husband busted up the tiles, do you mean ceramic tiles? ceramic tiles would be set in a layer of mortar. the laminate does not have to be exactly the same height as the existing wood floor. you can put a transition piece between the new laminate and the existing wood floor. you will put a transition piece between the old and new floor anyway. it's easier if the floors match, but they don't have to be exact. there's molding or thresh hold strips that go between the new and old floor. they come for floors that are even as well as uneven.
Q:how to level a floor?
It's up to if is there drain faucet floor ,should be slop to drain from 4 Corner . If there's no faucet floor and you want to install tiles on floor ,by using string and string level corner to corner get level and fill the gap by mortar concrete ,I should of tell you this is a pro job and it's not as easy that I say .
Q:Do I really need to use transitions when installing laminate flooring?
Yes you must for a couple of reasons. One is to make a clean transition to another surface or area. It allows the floor to expand and contract normally. Another is with that much laminate it will expand/contract a lot and they are needed every 20/25 ft as per your particular laminate calls for. If you don t , the whole floor can expand enough and actually lift off the floor. Also not putting in the proper transition strips may very well void warranties on the product. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar, I ve attended several installation seminars as well as installed a couple 100,000 s/f. GL
