Q:my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!
Your rug looks bleached. If that is the case, you will have to color it. But, if this indeed a stain causing this color: Go to Home Depot and pick up Liftoff 2 (oil and adhesives) It will be in the paint aisle. spray it on your stain, let sit for 30 seconds, scrub and vacuum. Repeat as necessary, rinse and let dry. However, like I said before, it looks like your rug is bleached, not stained.
Q:How do you fix the room carpet?
Carpet all over, glue, or nail wood around the room. It's OK. Use the glue!
Q:What good is a carpet?
Carpet water absorption, usually careless cup of water spilled on the ground, does not matter.
Q:We just got new carpeting last year in our family room, and are driveway is flat. It rained really hard three days ago, and the water came into the house and got are carpet soaked! We borrowed a carpet cleaner that sucked up about six buckets of water, but now its dry enough that it isnt sucking anything else up, but the carpet is still wet. It also smells like mildew in our house now. I sprayed Febrez, but the smell keeps coming back. Any ideas on how to get the rest of the water, and the smell out of the carpet?
Whenever you have a flooding issue, of any kind, always call a professional out. DO NOT USE A RENTAL MACHINE. The rental units do not have the suction that carpet cleaners have. Most of the cleaners have what is called a claw, that presses down on the carpet and the padding to pull the water out. The rental machine only got the surface water. Water stayed in the padding and is allowing bacteria to grow. You carpet might be salvaged if you get a professional out now. They can kill the bacteria and odor, remove the excess water and have blowers to help dry out under the carpet. Good luck
Q:so in my room i have a carpet which my mother told me that when our apartment was built they sticked the carpet with a special glue... under the carpet there are tiles..... but the glue is stuck to the tiles and i pulled the carpet to see whats happening under it because i really want to remove it because its unhealthy.... and i poored hot water and chlorine on and i took a knife to scratch it and the tiles wallpaper (however the call that thing) disappears and all i see its something black... what is that and what can i do now???? i already ripped a lot my carpet... any suggestions? what is that black thing??? is it the cement of the tiles?
First you do not need to put chlorine in with the water. The black paper ( is that what it looks like?) could just be something that was used to even out the floor's surface. Forget the knives and scratching! Adhesives ( glues) are sometimes soluble with water.. Sometimes with heat - you heat the glue moderately with perhaps a steam iron or a hair dryer, the glue will loosen enough to pry back the carpet. Otherwise- and this is totally out of range of my experience- solvents are sometimes used. I would not recommend using any kind of flammable solvent. Instead of knives find a wide putty knife to help lift the carpet off the tiles, this will get a larger area up off the tiles and will not scrape or gouge the tiles nor is it likely to slip and cut you. And you can get one for a few dollars. Work a little at a time- maybe it will take you a day or two- and wear safety glasses when you pull up the carpet because it is easy to get a small carpet fiber into your eye and it is a pain to get it out!
Q:My carpet is AWFUL.Even the big, top of the line cleaning machines won't get out the dirt, stains, and ground in stuff in my carpet. I cannot recarpet it, I am 15 and my parents won't let me.What takes staind out? And what about dirt? Except for where furniture used tobe the carpet has gone from white to a lightl dirty beige.Any help will be wonderful, I can try anything, thank you.
Carpets don't last forever. The carpet should have been cleaned from the very begining when before you noticed it was dirty. Depending on the stains some can't get out at all so you're stuck with it. What you can do is put an area rug over your carpet. Ask your parents if that is ok. Go to WalMart and see if there is something you like and can afford. It is important to take care of things that you use. Later in life you'll see how much more expensive it is when YOU have to pay for them.
Q:Water was spilled on his rug a few days ago and now the smell of skunk where the water was spilled is becoming overwhelming. Tried scrubbing it with soap but once it dried the smell came back. And there absolutely was no skunk in the house. No animals in the house either. Wondering if my daughter peed on that spot ( she pulls her diaper off sometimes). Please suggest something to get rid of the smell I can't afford the steam cleaner right now but I have a wet/dry shop vac.10 points for best answer thanks in advance for your help
Boys track all kinds of smelly things into the house on their feet. It could be skunk smell. Everyone who has told you to use plain white vinegar is right. If you want to heat it to near boiling, that could not hurt either. Then dry as best as you can with white towels or color fast towels. Use the shop vac to extract as much water as you can and put a fan on the spot. You want to get it as dry as possible. Health food stores and pet stores sometimes sell safe enzymatic cleaners for pet stains. They really do work on all kinds of animal or urine stains and odors. Tomato juice works because of the enzymes in tomatoes. I would not put it on your carpet. It will smell like rotten tomatoes over time, and stain your carpet red. If your son did get into a patch of ground where a skunk had been, some of the smell might also be lingering on his shoes and clothes. Sometimes time is the best solution to bad smells. Time, fresh air and sunshine all work wonders. If you can't pick up the smell right away, just keep the room picked up, open a window when you can, run a fan to keep air circulating around, and open the blinds.
Q:I have a mini and was wondering if during winter he'd be warm enough with these two rugs:a 270g polyester ripstop combo sheet rugand then a cotton combo rug underneath the sheetAny help would be appreciated,Thanks
Unless you're dipping into the twenties and teens, I would use only the polyester rug - that is, if it's totally necessary. If you're not showing this mini, leave the rugs off. He will be plenty warm with just his coat. I have a trail mare that I left unblanketed into the low twenties this year, and she grew an appropriate amount of hair and was perfectly fine - she was even warmer than my show horse gelding, who was rugged up in slickers and heavy blankets. EDIT: If your mini is body clipped, and kept outside, you should definitely put at least the sheet and rug on. I would recommend getting a neck cover as well if it gets into the mid teens. Put the slicker on only when the weather is very severe.
Q:How to do if the carpet mildews?
It will induce asthma and allergic rhinitis. These little creatures especially love to take the body dander as food. The toilet is often in contact with water, it is better not to lay the carpet, in fact. 2. 3, The invasion of the human body. Whether they will shop with the living room carpet at the bottom of long-term water vapor intrusion of bacteria that should not be in the home, the carpet, and often barefoot walking back and forth in the above, or hanging on the wall, contact the skin can cause itching. Mites are afraid of light, a rash of small swelling and reaction, can effectively eliminate mites, It's better be laid in a well ventilated area with sunshine, can play a good role of decoration, mites will be brought to the bed and bedding surface. Be allergic to the villi and the smell: The carpet is divided into wool, smell is difficult to volatilize, room laid with carpet should often be ventilate by opening the window. The carpet should not be placed in shady and moist rooms, so often bring the carpet to the sun to be dried. Because the carpet itself can create a warm living room atmosphere, chemical fiber and other different types: The carpet is made of a lot of small fibers: 1. In addition, cilia of the carpet are mostly easy to be accumulated with mites.
Q:How to clean out the stubborn stains on the carpet with a simple method
Hydrogen peroxide, adding water and washing powder to brush. It can decontaminate, disinfecte and sterilize.
