Q:I redid my floor in november using the sticky tiles I purchased from Family Dollar. I wanted to take the tiles off. Is there a easy way to do this without spending lots of money?
The previous owner of our house, unfortunately, tried to renovate and improve the recently refinished and refurbished original clear-vertical-grain fir floors by sticking self-adhesive vinyl tiles to them to create area rugs of faux parquet and faux marble. After scraping, heating, and using a variety of solvents, I hit upon this far easier and relatively non-toxic method: dry ice. Remove these adsRemove these ads by Signing Up
Q:The walls of the decorative panels and tiles two materials in the interface where how to close the mouth
If the two are in a plane, the operation is relatively simple, you can use natural sewing, sealing sealant closed, embedded in the T-shaped aluminum and other methods; if not in a plane, there are high and low, you can use L-shaped aluminum or stainless steel cover Prominent side.
Q:I need some guidance on hanging new wall tiles in my bathroom.1) can I tile over the existing tiles2) what are the pro‘s/con‘s of ready mixed adhesive against mix your own3) is all grout standard waterproof or do i need specialist stuff4) do you tile all the walls then replace the suite or put the new suit in first then tile? bearing in mind i hope to tile over existing tiles.5) is it true you shoudl first replace your bath, fill it with water and leave it overnight to level?Any guidance would be much appreciated......
1. Tile can be done over clean well bonded tile only 2. You should only use a premixed adhesive in a non wet area only. Any areas such as a bath tub or shower enclosure a cement based thin set ( thin sets are all cement based) Mastics or premixed adhesive are water based and will dissolve or lose their bond over time in a wet area.Although there are some premixed thin sets but I don t trust them and have never used them since its so much cheaper to use and mix thin set. 3.Standard grout is cement based and IS NOT water proof at all! Only your epoxy grouts are.. 4 Tubs or shower base must be in before tile. Stools optional unless your doing floors which you only said walls. The exception is if your doing behind the stool as in a wainscot. 5.Putting water in a tub will not level it. Follow manufactures suggestions on this since they vary from maker to maker and styles. Water in a tub is recommended only when caulking the tile edge at the tub. Let caulking dry and let water out. Any questions you can e mail me through me avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:how to tile vanity top and back splash?
relies upon on if the wall has any flexibility to it now. backerboard fights flex and is moisture or moist impervious. the tile will stick greater effective. tile won't stick properly to painted surfaces and paint mighjt peel below the tile. weakest hyperlink. bypass to a tile health center at abode depot.
Q:I live in an apartment and ive never had floor tiles like these. There is concrete underneath but I think these are ceramic tiles on top.I have no clue what to use to bring back the shine.Any suggestions would be helpful
i take advantage of a Magic Mop which has an abrasive facet and a gentle facet so i will scrub from a top. It took a splash getting used to and that i now %. up the airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust bits with the graceful factor besides. bought in a food market or Wilkinson kind save. I additionally use bleach and a tiny little bit of washing up liquid as suggested by using Aggie in how sparkling is your place. tried the steam mop and each thing became very moist, attempt to borrow one to attempt in the previous paying for,
Q:I have 1in. tile all over my bathroom,is tthere a paint to use that will stay on?
You can get tile paint, but I've never seen a good finish with it. It'd be better to change the tiles.
Q:20cm x 20cm uses 5 whole tiles, 4 half tiles, and 4 quarter tiles. Describe a method for calculating how many tiles of each type you needs for larger square tabletops.
Total tiles = 5 * (4/4) + 4 * (2/4) + 4 * (1/4) = (20 + 8 + 4) / 4 = 32 / 4 whole tile equivalents = 8 whole tile equivalents We can conclude that since 20 x 20 = 400 = 8 whole tile equivalents the area of one whole tile is 400/8 = 50 sq cm So we take the dimensions of the table, a * b, and divide by 50 to find out how many whole tile equivalents we'll need. How many whole, half, and quarter tiles will be needed depends on the shape of the table and the exact dimensions of both the table and the tiles. The tiles might be any of these sizes: 5 x 10 cm 4 x 12.5 cm 8 x 6.25 cm or some other numbers as long as the product is 50 sq cm.

Q:What techniques and tools would make it easier to go through doorways when laying ceramic floor tile
Great okorder /
Q:I want to put ceramic tile in my dining room, my room is 12' x 11'. So how would I go about deciding how many tiles I would need? The tiles are 12x12. But for ceramic tiles dont you have to leave space in between them?
First measure the room from wall to wall.Length and width.Multiply the numbers. This gives you square footage.Add another 15 square feet for cutting and breakage.Tiles are sold per square foot not amount.Space in between does not matter in calculation. This is up to you.If you want a more full look make space smaller. This is easier for maintenance(cleaning).1/4 inch is normal, 3/8 is big.The bigger the space it's harder to grout plus will cost more in grout.Make sure to use grout similar colour to tile.If your floor is wood underneath then you have to fasten it so it does not vibrate and then lay a wire mesh before putting on the tile. This is important,if you do not do this the tiles will crack. To remove them costs more than putting them on.
