- I'm assuming you no longer have the instructions that came with it? Google the make and model number there should be onlilne instructions. I've washed vacuum cleaner filters before, but they usually don't work as well after.

- Go to the thrift stores and garage sales. Then inspect them well before you buy. That is the only way to get a good one for that price. Dyson is about the best for under $500.

- Q:Our Dyson Slim just broke down after two years of great clean-up... upon taking it in to a DYSON SPECIALIST... he informed us we needed to change the filters yearly as well as have a yearly maintenance check... I have never heard of this before, so I wanted to check into it to see if he was being truthful!
- We have a Dyson and this is the first I have heard of it. I read the manual when we got it too. Is this guy trying to drum up business? Most vacuum cleaners you can do your own maintenance by keeping them clean.
