Q:I got some ebay projector headlights for my camaro. I should of listened to the majority of people who say ebay projectors suck. They look nice.but I can‘t see much: the beam pattern is all spread out and strange, and doesn‘t extend far at all. Is there any way I can upgrade them so I can see more and farther? Should I aim them higher? Get better bulbs? Will improving the bulbs give me a more lit up area? Thanks for your help.

Not really. Before you get in trouble (what you've done is illegal), get back to the original halogens, which are the only legal solution. You may look for the new improved brightness bulbs from reputable manufacturers, just make sure they have the original power (60W main, 55W dipped), otherwise you may bake the headlamp protective cover and coating. Real industry-grade HIDs cost much more and require their projectors, auto leveling system and headlamp washer. In other words, they must be factory-installed.

Q:I removed the instrument panel on my car to change the lights. I realized that I needed a part so I drove the car, without the instrument panel, to the store (I used a GPS as a speedometer). When I hooked it all back up the air bag light blinks a few times, then goes solid. I have checked to make sure there were no loose wires or connectors near the steering wheel or instrument panel. Would the light stay on because the instrument panel was missing? How can I fix this? The auto parts stores in the area do not have computer scanners that can read the airbag codes.

Jay is right, there's no way of knowing this one without a hands on inspection, could be something as simple as a line leaking fluid, or as serious as a catastrophic internal parts failure. Get it towed to your favorite shop, and see what they say. My condolences for your loss.

Just so you know what you are talking about the SES light, which is the Service Engine Soon light, does NOT throw any codes whatsoever. It comes on to tell you that your car should be getting an oil change or something along that line. The CEL, Check Engine Light throws codes when you have a problem. If you fixed the problem, then all you have to do is disconnect the negative battery cable for about a half hour and then put it back on. If the problem that caused the CEL to come on is fixed, the light will not come on when you start the car

Q:This morning my Highlander (has about 80,000 miles on it) started beeping at me ((the noise when you leave a door open, or don‘t have your seatbelt on). I looked and my gas light is on. Underneath it, it says Fuel Door. It‘s also now making a kind of rumbling bumping noise whenever I start or turn off the engine, and it stalled a bit when I tried to drive out of a parking lot.I have three quarters of a tank and I unscrewed/rescrewed the gas cap on and it still says it. The last time I touched the fuel door (before today) was last Thursday when my mom and I got gas together- and it‘s worked fine this entire week, so I know I didn‘t leave it unscrewed or damage it in any way. I haven‘t noticed that my gas has been getting used up any faster than normal, so I don‘t think it‘s leaking.Do I need to get to an auto repair shop ASAP? Can it wait a day? What‘s wrong with my car?

I'll take a jab at this and say the following: You're describing all sorts of weird symptoms. but what you should do is find a manual and see if the flashing of that particular light is ALSO indicative of any failure in your fuel delivery system. Now, I was going to go with something electrical, but when you mention that the vehicle stalled, that coupled with some fuel light being on -- you've just indicated that the vehicle is STARTING to experiment fuel delivery failure. I'm gonna go with 3 things: First check your fuel relay in the fuse box. From there, you might have to deal with your fuel filter. from there, your fuel pump. As that light MAY also be indicative of any of these three malfunctioning. The rumbling that you're hearing is likely your fuel pump kicking in and/or your computer coming on and off -- wild guess! You might have gotten bad gas in the car -- Or, a neighbor might have done you dirty, lmao :-). In any event, get your vehicle's manual to start with and see what else that light is associated with. Could be your switch. The blinker is probably just the lamp burnt out (I can't remember if it's a steady light for rear and rapid for front or the other way around) OR you have some wiring issues or a short in the system causing the flasher repeater to run headlights, which could have burnt up the relay and causing your blinker to go all wonky on ya. Emissions ? Powertrain control problems? Yes. that's Computer problem and yes Auto zone can retrieve the codes and suggest what the problem MAYBE but there can be underlying issues that caused the light to come on. so before you go to Spending money code chasing get a second opinion. it may save you money in the long run. try posting the code number here and see what you are told to. It will be a 4 digit code Pxxxx . the P stands for powertrain. And O for the first digit would mean output, a 1 would mean Input. then the next 3 digits are the systems and sub systems.
