Q:What is a simple way to disconnect the damn light, because the breaks are fine, but with the panel light showing and not shutting off, it fails inspection, and i dont want to replace my break system.

Q:The light is on the right hand side of the dash panel and looks like a rectangular shape with a parallel line sticking out of the left top and a smaller rectangular shape protrouding from the right side. Right about the ABS indicator.Any idea what this means? (I looked in the manual and found nothing) How long can I drive without this getting fixed/looked at?

I own a shop, and think you have a leak in the system some place. As for the light staying on a year, that sounds like a faulty sensor in the bottom of the recovery tank (where you add coolant), and it is either not floating up (stuck), or it is just no good. When adding coolant to your engine, you must keep in mind two things; One, the type of coolant you put into the system does matter, and only use the coolant the manufacture recommends or its equivalent. It should say right on the container For all types of vehicles if its the right one. Two; Pay attention to the marks where the level is to be filled to. Too much and it will throw it back out when the engine gets up to normal temperature. Coolant expands contracts in the system, and if you don't leave enough room for it to expand, it will kick it out the overflow. If a system is allowed to get too low, it will pull air into it, and this air will have to be purged from the system, or it will cause hot spots, and an overheating condition. The best advice anyone could give you is to have it pressure tested along with the cap too. This way you will know right away what the problem is. There are many things that can cause this problem, and finding the cause can be difficult at times. The pressure test will find it 99% of the time. Have this done, and you will know what to do next. About the only thing a pressure test won't find is a sticking thermostat, so you may want to have that replaced anyway. Glad to help out, Good luck!!!

Q:so the light's on, i had it checked in auto zone, they said it was a small leak, i changed the gas cap, disconnetcted the bateray and put it back on, light's still on. where should i go from here, what else can i check?

I take it they said the gas cap was leaking. If so, the fault is a gas tank pressure problem. The system usually is made up of charcoal canister, solenoid, and pressure sensor all located near the gas tank. There may also be a solenoid located by the engine. These all work together to collect excess gas fumes and send them back to the tank. If the gas cap didn't fix it, it could be one of the items I mentioned. I would search online with the code you got from AutoZone and see which components your car has. If it indicates the charcoal canister, it might just be the solenoid by the canister (its a lot cheaper). The solenoids tend to go bad after many years because of their exposure to road water, salt, etc.

Q:Took it to Auto Zone and the OBD Trouble Code is P0402 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation flow Excessive Detected? anyone got an idea on a cure for the problem, that and I guess with the trouble code it won‘t read whatever they read to pass emissions - at leats that is how it was explained to me?

This code is usually caused by a bad DPFE sensor (delta pressure feedback egr sensor) this is a dealer item best to have the dealer check it first, won't take long 1.0 hr

Q:my car doesnt start at all and i had someone jump my car but still not even a click what can it be?

Well, when jumper cables are hooked up to the battery, make sure that the lights on the dash come on. That will tell you if you are at least getting power. If you do have power, you may have a bad solenoid on the starter. And this is just a shot in the dark, because you don't specify. But if your vehicle happens to be a manual transmission/stick shift, then you may want to try to push it off/pop the clutch. If you do have a stick shift, and not sure what i'm referring to, then just email me for details. Other wise, I'd have the starter removed and taken to a part store to be tested. Most any part store will do this free of charge.

Q:What would cause the head lights to go off for a second and then come back on again. I also have a prob with high beams as well. When there on, they will go off after a short while of use.

Pure drive, i would consider it very head light. Head light i prefer for head acceleration in addition to control. However when i feel like just pounding the ball with ease i prefer a head heavy racquet. Head light also has easier mobility around the net which i prefer. Male

I just need ideas about what maintenance repairs can be done to possibly eliminate any major issues.

Have the system scanned by a professional. There are too many things that can set a code to even start guessing.

Q:There is nothing in any manual about these two options in the MMI setup and while I have read elsewhere that the "Touring Mode" has to do with where the headlights point I was hoping someone might know... I believe the "Auto Running Lights" feature have to do with the sensitivity of the full lighting system coming on but am not sure...

Q:i got a flat yesterday. my boyfriend came and fixed it with the spare that came with the car. its been running fine and no damage could have really resulted from the flat. does the check engine light come on when a spare is on the car??

Oreilly or MO Shucks can scan your car with a code scanner for free. But yeah there might be something going on with your engine.
