Product Description

   Metallurgical coke is produced by carbonization of coals or coal blends at temperatures up to 1400K to produce a macroporous carbon material of high strength and relatively large lump size.It is mainly used in metallurgical and chemical industries. The coke in a cupola functions not only as a fuel but also as a medium of heat transfer. The key factor affecting the efficiency of the molten metal heating-up is the surface combustion temperature of the coke. Thus, the reactivity of the coke is important because it is closely related to the efficiency of the molten metal heating-up. Coke is primarily used to smelt iron ore and other bearing materials in blast furnaces, acting both as a source of heat and as a chemical reducing agent to produce iron or hot metal.
