Q:i found this unique variety and i would like too root them but ive tried to root hibiscus b-4 ,no luck ugh!!
I have rooted hibiscus before. Heres how I did it: first I cut the new growth. If you know anything about plants you should be able to tell. Its usually greener than the more brown previous seasons growth. Then I cut a piece that had no obvious flower blooms on it. Then I wet the end of the piece I cut and dipped it in Rootone. This can be bought a most garden centers or even a major department stores. Then I but the dipped end into some regular potting mix and place in a partial sunny spot or even in a sunny window indoors. then keep moist. I usually wait to plant it untill the following year. That way the roots have a chance to get established. Good luck. (also wash hands very well after using the rooting hormone for safety) Oh and only leave two leaves when you root. Thats how I did it.
Q:Is it dangerous for pets? I was trying to find vermiculite to hatch my corn snake eggs in but the only thing I could find was miracle sphagnum peat moss and I'm wondering if that's dangerous for my snake and her eggs.
Hi, i use vermiculite because it holds heat. Hope this is of some help!
Q:So i have a styrofoam box and a shoe box container is in it. should i take off the shoe box lid or leave it on once i place it in my homemade incubator???? Ive read i should put holes in the shoe box where the eggs are going to be but does it work both ways if i were to take off the lid, will this still work?
Leave the lid on so it holds in humidity. I place my eggs into small containers filled halfway with vermiculite and only a couple of tiny holes in them for air flow.
Q:A gardener needs 6 bushels of a potting medium of 40% peat moss and 60% vermiculite. He decides to add 100% vermiculite to his current potting medium that is 50% peat moss and 50% vermiculite. The gardener has 5 bushels of the 50% peat moss and 50% vermiculite mix. Does he have enough of the 50/50 mix to make 6 bushels of the 40% peat moss and 60% vermiculite mix? Explain.
NOOOO, the best substrate is none !! If you want to use something, newspaper , paper towels or repti carpet - fake grass available cheaper @ places like Lowes, keep several cut to size so you can change to clean and clean one, otherwise you risk the reptile getting impacted if they swallow substrates then sick dying ! Take Care
Q:There is vermiculite in the soil. Can you eat the vegetables grown?
It is a relatively rare mineral, belonging to silicates. The crystal structure is monoclinic, and it looks like mica from its appearance. Vermiculite is produced by the hydration of certain granite. It is commonly produced with asbestos. Because vermiculite has the ability of ion exchange, it has a great effect on the nutrition of the soil.
Q:But I want to start planting my own food and such. And I don‘t know when the season to start planting
Hi: You can plant peppers and tomatoes by your bay window inside. Be careful about the type of tomatoes you plant inside as they will get too big. Cherry tomatoes or a small German brand tomato works well in a pot inside. Use a good potting soil of vermiculite, and humus. The potting soil is good if it is light weight. A good tip also is when you plant the seeds is to get the soil moist with warm water. This will help the seeds germinate. Green, red, yellow, banana peppers or ornamental peppers should do fine as long as they get enough sunlight and water. You can also plant outside in pots or in the ground. If you are going into spring, the best time is after the last frost. Properly prepare your ground if you are doing a garden. If you are doing them in planters outside your tomatoes can be of a larger variety as you can stake them or cage them. Take a look at my sitemap on my website for ideas on doing different container planting as well as properly planning, prepping and planting a garden. Hope this helps some and good luck to you. Q:I have a pot of radish seeds to start in zone 10 and i‘ve read that peat moss was wonderful so I thought why not use all of it in the pot and get awesome radishes?. I thought it was the best idea, so I planted my seeds (and a baby tree) entirely in peat moss and added plant food (sea kelp). Was that a great idea?
The trouble with peat is that it runs water and gets hard as a rock when it drys. It is hard to keep a constant level of moisture in peat. Peat moss it also acidic. Using peat to loosen soil in a garden also adds organic matter to the soil. It doesn't clump because soil is in between the particles.
Q:If you aciddentaly turn a fertile egg, how long does it take for the color to change and what color would it usually change to? Mine went from pink (in the tank), to brown (in the vermiculite) in less than an hour. Is that normal? I don‘t think I turned them, why did they all turn brown?
I read that the wind shifted, and the fire surrounded them. They carry fire shelters, I don't know why the didn't work. Maybe the fire was just too intense.
