Q:What should I give my female leopard gecko to ensure she lays her eggs as safely as possible?
Yes a true garden center would have it but depending on their location the garden centers may be closed because its winter. I would assume they would also have it where you purchased the tarantula or another exotic pet store. I just did a Google search and there are many places selling this online in various size bags. If you have problems finding it locally Google it and order online.
Q:What kind of stone is vermiculite?
It is such a name. Brown, yellow, vermiculite is dark green, like the oil sheen. After heating them into grey. Vermiculite can be used as construction materials, adsorbents, fire insulation materials, mechanical lubricant, soil conditioner and so on
Q:Why is this lettuce plant moldy?
I used to live in Virginia, so I'll hazard a guess. Keep in mind, the geology varies quite a bit there. Shiny black pieces that look like obsidian? Do you see a lot of 60 or 120 degree angles along the edges? Could be an amphibole (like hornblende) rather than obsidian. The not-gold, if it is flaky, may be a weathered mica (muscovite, or even biotite). Perhaps you're seeing the remnants of a schist or gneiss that has been weathered and eroded for millions of years, particularly if you're southeast of the Blue Ridge.
Q:Can I plant carniverous plants/plant seeds in seed starting mix?
wat was the question??lol
Q:Which of these six soil additives is the best?

For example: if you have 1.2 ounces of coffee, you would multiply 1.2 times 21.33 to get 25.6 fluid ounces of water needed. 92.6 grams of coffee would require 2061CCs (2.06 liters) of water. Use the inverse factor to determine the amount of coffee to use with an unlisted amount of water.
Q:perlite or vermiculite?

Q:Why am I finding GOLD in my garden?
If they are starting to collapse after only week, it is possible that your humidity is too low and the eggs are drying out. It is also possible that they are infertile, but it is best to assume they are good until you know for sure. You could also try candling the eggs.
Q:how can i grow magic mushrooms in the DRC? there is no vermiculite to be found here, and no cow poop either.?
Its perlite :) and its actually a volcanic rock, and as for eating it? Well... I don't really know but I wouldn't recommend it haha :) and you can actually break them apart with your fingers :)
Q:I need to repot my Cactus..miracle grow or succulent soil?
Vermiculite can stick to the beardie as she lays her eggs and has been known to cause eye problems to lizards who have used it to lay their eggs in. It's a great incubating medium, though. But I'd recommend using EcoEarth/Bed-a-Beast for her to lay the eggs in. You can then move the eggs to the incubator with vermiculite (no additives like the other answerer said) or perlite (which I find that I have better success with when it comes to gecko eggs...again, no additives). Be sure to keep the eggs in the same position as they were laid.
Q:leopard gecko incubation?
Add vermiculite to the top of the pots. It is normal for the pots to slowly degrade so mould is to be expected. The vermiculite will prevent the stems of the lettuce damping off as it absorbs excess water.
