Q:What is a Remote Operated valve ?
I would assume the nitrogen is stored under pressure and it used to pressurize the hydraulic system and the hydraulics in turn operate the valve by driving a piston as required by an electrical signal. This can be a fairly common system for such operations. The electrical signal can be triggered by either direct electrical contact or by an electronic signal depending on the design of the system.
Q:Idle valve for accord 2005?
Probably won't help. Idle Air Control valves are blamed probably ten times as often as they are at fault in Honda engines. It is mounted on the side of the throttle body and has a connector with wires instead of hoses. You don't mention why you are interested in the IAC valve, but if it is because of idle hunting (revving between about 500 rpm and 1500 rpm smoothly and rhythmically), a bubble in the coolant is by far the most common cause. If the coolant is changed and not bled the normal idle speed can't get hot coolant to the Fast Idle Thermo valve (FITV) so it figures the engine is cold and the valve opens to raise the idle. That raises the coolant to the FITV, which then decides the engine is warm so the valve closes, dropping the idle speed, over and over. Burping the coolant, by opening the bleed nipple on top of one of the radiator hose housings at the engine half a turn until a steady stream of coolant comes out, should stop that. Do it with the engine cold.

Q:Standing water under sprinkler valves?
Sounds to me, like you have one of two things happening. Either you have a leak, which needs to be fixed. Or the valve box is in a low area where the water drains to... Turn on the water and watch the valves.. you might be able to see where the water is coming from. It may be as simple as tightening down the valve screws, or you may need to turn off the water at the main and repair or replace it. If the water is draining there or the leak isn't all that terrible the only way drain rock would help is if you were to dig underneath the valve a little, and to replace what you dig out with rock... Just make sure you can still access everything when you are finished. Good Luck!
Q:Wall Heater question? (Gas Valve)?
Depends on what kind of wall heater. FOR A 24 volt system : you will need a ohm/volt meter to do that. Make sure the thermostat is calling for heat, and the gas going to the unit is on. you should have 24 volts at the gas valve. if there is 24 volts there, and the burners are not on, then the gas valve is bad. If you don't have 24 volts there, then your thermostat could be bad, and not turning on the gas valve, or you might not have control voltage. You should be familiar with basic electricity to do this.
Q:Butterfly Valve?
Why would you want to do that? The butterfly valve is a very important part of your engine. It is what gives your foot the ability to control engine RPM's. Therefor don't be stupid and mess with something that you will possiblly regret later
Q:EGR valve issues?
EGR valve should be opening at higher RPM's and closing at lower ones. Check the shaft positioin on the EGR valve with the engine idling (you might need a flashlight and mirror on an extension rod to see it on your vehicle). When the engine is revved up, the shaft should move away from the engine. If its not moving or it moves open but doesn't close all the way, it could be that the valve seat of the valve is broken and holding the valve open. If you do end up replacing it, clean out the carbon if there is any in the opening of the engine that leads to the EGR valve.
Q:Question about running open headers and valves?
Cold air doesn't get in to damage, but the valve needs a bit of back pressure. The valve will burn, crack or check, or the valve seat will do the same. The common damage is a small w crack on the valve face, which then leaks compression gases into the hot header resulting in erratic backfire and misfiring. The lack of back pressure can be compensated for by richer mixture, or grinding a wider seat. Get used to lapping in valves, or find some high performance sodium valves and stelite seats. You could run dumps, and only open the headers for short blasts.
Q:Valve replacement surgery?
Hi David, just saw your post. I was young when I had my valve replaced. I was 37, now am 42. My mother had her valve replaced at the age of 54. Honestly, that is the oldest person I know of that has had valve replacement. As with any surgery, there are alot of risks young or old. The older a person is though it may be tougher especially if he has a lot of other health problems. Just take all of this into consideration when you and your father are discussing all the details, etc. and find out any and all options that he has before proceeding with surgery. Q:Explanation on enlarged heart valve?
I don't know what this means in a fetus at 20 weeks since a lot of changes still lie ahead, but you can glean some info from the nature of this type of defect in adults. If the abnormality doesn't change and if no other abnormalities arise, the flaps of the affected valve will poke into one of the heart chambers. This situation is called valve prolapse. Look up mitral valve prolapse as an example. Typically a valve prolapse is not a serious defect, but if the prolapse is severe it might require treatment at some point in life or maybe even multiple treatments. What the heart will look like at birth is probably the bigger question. Some abnormalities signal a genetic defect that might cause other problems as well. Some defects cause a chain of problems in later steps of development. Your doc should have a good idea if any of these concerns exist. Maybe genetic testing will be suggested, but many defects occur with no explanation and they do not cause other complications. I would guess that after the chambers are developed, a dilated valve would be unlikely to cause any significant complications in later heart development, but this is just a guess.
