- I got my futon at Walmart for $99. But, it's for use at a vacation home only, not for daily use. If you are sleeping on it every day, I would suggest getting a good twin mattress and box spring set from Mattress Firm, or any place having a sale. Then I would get daybed cover and bolsters at JC Penney catalog. You can even use a twin bed-in-a-bag with a coordinating body pillow back, to save $$$.

- interesting. Feathers aren't usually used for sofas because they compact so much, they don't offer good support/structure. Well- the only solution I know of, is making your own liner. You would have to open the cushions, and If there IS a liner in there already, take it out, and basically make a pillowcase around with with another fabric that will hold in the feathers. (you need a VERY tight weave so they don't come through- check your fabric shop for recommendations near you). If there is no liner in there (loose feathers when you open the zippered cushions) well, that's you're problem. You need to measure and custom sew a liner for it, and put all the feathers inside that. Then you would re-put on the real outer cover to your cushions. If the actual SOFA part (not just additional cushions) has feathers coming out, unless you're very handy, I'd get quotes on getting the whole thing reupholstered. Good Luck.

- again the microfiber sofa and the pen. It's a daily occurrence here on answers. Take some alcohol or lighter fluid and put it on a towel, wipe across the ink marks and change to another position with the towel. Let the towel adsorb the ink. When no more ink comes off on the towel, switch to soap and water. Do the same. Just don't push the ink in further, be gentle. PS, although the hairspray idea has some merit, the question I have is How do I get hairspray off my microfiber sofa?

- Seriously, dont waist your money on store bought products, this will only mask the problem and will not totally clean it, the smell will still be their, maybe you cant smell it, but your dog can,.... and will pee there again and again, Call a carpet cleaning company and have them professionally clean your sofa, this is the only sure fire way to get it totally clean. Should cost about 50-75 dollars

- The problem is not so much the urine in the seat cover, but most likely it soaked through into the foam underneath. If the cushions are removable from the sofa there should be a zipper on the back of the seat cover. This will allow you to remove the foam insert inside. Take that out, measure it and call some local upholstery shops and get a quote on one of them cutting you a new foam core that you can insert back into the casing once you've thoroughly cleaned said casing. That is the only way you will truly eliminate the problem. If the casing is NOT removable and you have an attached seat then it gets more complicated and you will have to call out an upholsterer to come out and see how difficult it would be to replace the foam insert. - You can't take off fixed cushions because, by definition, they are fixed in place. What you might try is getting a used sofa without fixed cushions. That way you can remove the cushions and re-upholster them before you resell it and go back to your sofa without fixed cushions.
