Product Description:

Introduction:

Aluminium foil is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mil) are also commonly used. The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects.Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.
Some aluminium foil products can be recycled at around 5% of the original energy cost, although many aluminium laminates are not recycled due to difficulties in separating the components and low yield of aluminium metal.

Q:if I compress roof insulation does it still work?
Yes, but not as well. the air trapped inside it works as an insulator as much as the fill itself. The weight of insulation on top of it will take away some insulating properties, but it's replaced by the insulating properties of the new insulation, so it's a net gain.
Q:can you insulate ceiling if rubber roof installed?
Yes, you can. There is a little plastic piece that you will want to tack to the underside of the roof though before you install your insulation. It is a plastic air vent that keeps about an inch or so of space between the roof and the insulation so that air can move through. You need to do that so the roof can breathe as they say. If you don't allow it to breathe, the difference in temperature from outside to inside will cause the roof to sweat and will make your roof go bad a lot quicker.
Q:if you had snow and all the snow is off your roof and the house nex store has snow do we need insulation?
You hit the nail on the head and is a direct indication that you need more insulation. As a matter of fact, many carpentry companies send the sales force out in the winter (When new home building is slower) to look for houses with no to little snow on their roofs compared to their neighbors. This is an indication that the roof is allowing to much heat to escape which then melts the snow on the roof. But take one other thing into account. Was the wind blowing? If the wind is blowing, it could blow snow off your roof and not your neighbor due to his location, obstructions(such as tree's, other buildings) or design of his roof. lastly, depending on the orientation of your home, more sunlight can hit your roof than your neighbors allowing more snow to melt. If your roof is darker compared to your neighbor, it can increase your snow melt compared to your neighbor. If the snow is recent and your neighbor has snow on the roof and you don't, chances are that you need insulation as $$$ is escaping out of your ceiling.
Q:Questions on roof heat tapes and insulation?
I have never experienced a problem with heat tape. as long as it is in good shape and you have it plugged into a GFI, I personally wouldn't worry about it to much at all. your roof gets hotter in the summer with the sun beating on it then the heat tape can create. so it starting a fire would be unlikely. the lack of insulation in that area is compounding your problem. so get that taking care of if you can. heat tape is melting snow and ice, melting snow and ice makes ice cycles. the heat tape in the gutter will help to keep the gutters clear allowing the water to flow down the spout so in theory it should not create as many ice cycles as without the tape. again the lack of insulation is allowing more snow to melt from heat loss through the roof. hope this helped, good luck
Q:How to insulate roof with syrofoam rectangles?
First you need to see if the foam is FIRE RATED. If you install the wrong foam on an interior surface, it is a building/fire code violation. That being said, I would use an adhesive like liquid nails to install it. Test the adhesive on a piece of foam first though to see if it melts the foam too much. If it does not. Spread the adhesive on the foam and press the foam in place. You can devise a holder to keep the foam sheets in place till the glue dries.
Q:Can you use Great Stuff foam as insulation under a metal roof?
Probably could, but it would look like crap. Painting the roof white would do a better job of keeping the metal cooler. I'd install a ceiling fan in the center of the roof instead to force the hot air out.
Q:Can a wholesale supplier of insulation, roofing and commercial interior products be monopolistic competition?
I accept as true with a great sort of it and a couple of belts is ******* stupid surprisingly in case you will hand them to queen shiba gail kim. hogan is wearing tna is awfully unhappy. hes the only person who can cut back a first rate promo too yet I agree much less television time. they push and leap the gun on the worst mid carders or too quickly and its crap. television ma i like that yet carter is a crack whore. i understand perfect whats the factor of being stay on the timpact zone at properly-known? lol pathetic. no being loose wont help something. thats nwa hollywood mentality and loose tickets. tna provides loose tickets too. tna needs to basicly crank lower back the clock and be precisely like they have been in previous due 2009 and experience it out. hexagon greater helpful roster. greater fits and action. rapid little promos. forget approximately thoughts perfect now. do basically promos and fits. revive the knockouts branch. do away with that stupid gut examine. and al snow. taz needs to retire hes anoying now and argues too lots. revive tag communities. cut back the jerry springer horse **** brawls. not greater greater thoughts and promos thats it. purely hemme gets the mic and everybody needs to quit speaking and attempt against and having longer fits. austin aries is an over rated cm punk sort clone I agree. the place is velvet sky? matt morgan, pink, pete williams, kevin youthful is a clown now for knockouts macthes? wtf tna.... aj varieties slept with carter so he have been given mid carded?...
Q:do I have to blow insulation in the roof of my mobile home if I install foam insulation under a meatle roof?
Vapor barriers always go on the heated side of walls or ceilings. If you are going to add insulation to your attic and don't want to put in more blown in insulation ( which does have a better R-factor) then purchase unfaced fiberglass insulation to put on top of existing insulation. The thing you need to avoid is called double vapor barriers. Years ago when the first started playing with super insulated houses they would put a poly on the inside and outside of the walls. What happened is any moisture picked up in the walls going from summer to winter would get trapped in the walls and rot them out. No matter what only one vapor barrier on the heated side of the insulation!!! Then your house can breath and release moisture regardless how thick your walls or ceiling.
Q:My upstairs ceilings are not insulated and on the other side of the 2x6 rafters is the roof.?
Suggestion: install the insulation with the foam channels but leave the center section (roof ridge area) open from end to end. At each end you can install a static vent or an active one. Depending on the amount of space you have you may be able to install a power vent.If you can send me a diagram with measurements I can give you a more definitive answer.
Q:Without loft insulation ,the roof space is full of air.Why does this not keep the heat in?
Because air can circulate, (it's called convection) and transfer a lot of heat. In other words, air alone is a very poor insulator. .
