Q:What does 3003-O aluminum mean?
3003 is a kind of AL-SI alloy of Al Mn alloyThere are four basic states of aluminum alloys:F--Free the condition of a product after a normal working procedure requires no special heat treatment or hardening, and the mechanical properties are not limited.H-- strain hardening statusO-- annealed state (the softest of all States)T-- heat treatment status
Q:why does 10% sulfuric acid not react with aluminum sheet?
10% sulfuric acid has a high concentration and will be passivated and formulate a layer of oxide film after reacting with aluminum, and the reaction will stop after seperating sulfuric acid and aluminum. there is a layer of Al2O3 oxide film on the surface of aluminum, so it's hard for sulfuric acid to break the oxide film and react with aluminum.
Q:what factors affectn aluminium?
This is science so, if you want specific answers, you must ask specific questions. What type of aluminum are you interested in? What characteristics are important to you? What kind of factors are you talking about? You are right that heating can affect Al. In fact, heating affects, basically, everything, every material we know of and every physical and chemical process that we do and every process that happens in nature. Temperature is important in all of these. There are more than a hundred different commercial aluminum alloys and most of them are available in a variety of different tempers (heat treated conditions). The heat treatment of commercial Al alloys is a very important thing. If you want more specific information, consult your friendly neighborhood metallurgist.
Q:What is the weight of aluminium plate now?
The following is the density of each series of aluminum sheets for reference.Pure aluminum 2.7 TC7 4.4Antirust aluminium LF2, LF43 2.68, TC8 4.48LF3 2.67 TC9 4.52LF5, LF10, LF11 2.65, TC10 4.53LF6 2.64 pure nickel, anode nickel, electric vacuum nickel 8.85LF21 2.73, nickel, copper, nickel, magnesium, nickel silicon alloy 8.85Hard aluminium, LY1, LY2, LY4, LY6 2.76, Ni Cr alloy 8.72LY3 2.73 (Zn0.1, Zn1, zinc, Zn2, Zn3) 7.15LY7, LY8, LY10, LY11, LY14 2.8, cast zinc 6.86LY9, LY12 2.78, 4-1 casting zinc aluminum alloy 6.9LY16, LY17 2.84, 4-0.5 casting zinc aluminum alloy 6.75Wrought aluminium LD2, LD30 2.7 lead and lead antimony alloy 11.37LD4 2.65 lead anode plate 11.33LD5 2.75
Q:When water continually sprays on the aluminum sheet, how to avoid corrosion of aluminum sheet and keep its water resistance?
Don’t worry about it, after aluminum contacts water or air, a layer of oxide film will generate on its surface to separate aluminum from the water or air and protect it, so it won’t be erosive.
Q:Why do americans say aluminum and not aluminium?
Because it's written Aluminum on the periodic table.
Q:Difference between castiron bodies and aluminium bodies used in automotive components? What makes each special
Aluminium is lighter as well as stronger than CI. Thats the reason most of the Automobile manufacturers use Aluminium for car bodies while they use cast iron for the underframes and internal chassis....NMN
Q:What is the amperage setting on a tig welder when welding aluminum?
Best electrodes to use for Aluminum welding is 1.5% lanthanum oxide (gold color code.). 2% zirconia (brown) or 2% thorium oxide (red) can also be used. Note that zirconia-doped electrodes should never be used for DC welding. A lot of welders like to quote offhand the rule 1 amp for every 0.001 inch of thickness. This applies to steel, stainless, and nickel alloys only. Due to the lower melting point, lower specific heat capacity, and higher thermal conductivity of of Al, this rule should NOT be used for Al! I recommend welding a test piece first with the same joint configuration and thickness of the part you intend to weld. Note that fillet welds require more current than butt welds or edge welds. Start out by using 2/3 amp per 0.001 of thickness, in other words, reduce the current of the above rule by about 30-40% . Make 3 test weld, then check to see if there's any visible penetration on the other side. If you don't see any through-pentration at all, increase the current by about 10-20 amps and test again.
Q:Need help with cleaning baking aluminum pans...that are mess!!?
Thanks, have all of the above that you mentioned...just that a few are favorites as I can pick them up easily - bad shoulders and elbows have weight bearing issues....I don't even cook all that much, but seem to burn a lot - even when boiling eggs....it is a miserable commentary on a day in the life of Aunt Susie....
Q:What is aluminum foil made of?
It is not aluminum oxide. It's pretty much pure aluminum, though it may be coated with a very thin layer of wax or plastic. As for the independent experiment, be careful and wear goggles and other protective clothing. I was in high school once too, and can tell you from experience that thermite burns very, very hot and is quite good at melting or combusting a wide variety of materials. It also requires a fairly hot ignition source, and magnesium strips are often used for that purpose as a kind of fuse. If you don't have access to that, figure something else out, but do *not* attempt to light thermite directly with a blowtorch. You want to be much farther away by the time it lights, and it would be a bad idea to lay the torch there and back away because that places the torch's potentially explosive fuel supply much too close to the reaction.
