Q:what are other names for a pottery wheel
Other than a pottery wheel, the most used term would be the potter's wheel. It has also been called a potter's lathe. Other types of wheels include: --kick wheel --treadle wheel --electric pottery wheel, or motor driven wheel In ancient times, potters made turntables, or tournettes, to use to coil pottery faster which they turned by hand. Later the coiling turned into throwing the pots as the wheel progressed. Sometimes this was done with a stick put in an indentation in a round stone that the potter turned. In some third world countries it is still done that way. When the kick wheel was invented, it made the work much easier. The treadle wheel, like the one Bernard Leach used, also was a precursor to our modern electric pottery wheel.
Q:im gettin a 2007 monte carlo ss and it has a v8 but front wheel drive so i was think i should juss get the o4 ss and juss roll with the v6 and front wheel drive
Let me answer the question this way: Corvette = Rear Wheel Drive Ferrari (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Lamborghini (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Porsche (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive or all wheel drive Indy race car = (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Drag race cars = (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Mustangs/Camaros = (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Nissan Z cars/ Toyota Supras = (all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive Dodge Hemis =(all of them) = Rear Wheel Drive or all wheel drive Get the picture... Front wheel drive was developed as a way to save time and money on an assembly line. They also offer better traction in poor weather conditions (secondary benefit). Real cars (all of them) are rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. Don't get me wrong, some very fine cars are front wheel drive, Most Honda's Toyota's etc. (although high performance models of both these brands are rear wheel drive). But these cars are NOT known for high performance, high quality yes, high middling performance yes, Not high performance. That's all.
Q:I am trying to replace a wheel. However the wheel weight is missing. Do I have to use a wheel weight that is the brand of the car I have, or would the general company (such as Firestone) have wheel weights they could use.
You can go to any tire shop and have your tires balanced. They have different kinds of wheel weights for different wheels. I have managed a tire shop for 18 so trust me on this.
Q:The medecine wheel is the wheel that represents creation, community, and equality.
Well wheels like that aren't only found in the Americas, so I'm not sure you can make it spiritual in a religion sense in that you can compare it to Christianity. Don't forget the wheel largely also has to do with the four directions people pray to.
Q:There are several ways to hit a wheel
And kissed with a strong kiss to kiss.
Q:I took my car (1995 Honda Civic) to a mechanic to fix the front passenger side wheel bearing. After replacing the wheel bearing, the loud noise in the car continued. He did inform me that the old wheel bearing that was taken out was damaged, and was correct about it needing to be replaced. He further inspected the car and concluded that it was the transmission bearing on the same side. So I have some questions; Is there a such thing as a transmission bearing? Would a damaged transmission bearing cause damage to the wheel bearing as well? Also, my front two tires are bald, could this be causing the noise? And would it be efficient to switch the front two tires with the two rear?
The wheel bearing has nothing to do with the transmission. When you need a wheel bearing, it is because you abused the steering system to the point of damaging it, hard turning, pot-holes, curb riding. Transmission has a throw out bearing, a rear main seal.
Q:I want to get new tires with rims for my 250 quad. But is wondering what size my wheel hubs is, so I can match it with the new wheels? Are they all the same. My quad is a Jianshe 250cc farm bike.
Not sure I fully understand your question; you wanna get new wheels and tyres for your quad? The type of wheels you can buy is determined by the stud pattern. (I think this is probably what you mean by the size of the hub). There is a small number of different stud patterns, just like on cars. Take your old wheel into a shop and they will be able to match you up with a range of wheels which will fit. If buying online, just look closely at the picture of the style you wanna buy to see if it matches yours. The most obvious difference is in the number of studs i.e. the bolt-like things the wheelnuts screw onto. The other thing to look out for is the spacing of the studs. E.g. on a 4-stud wheel you measure across from the CENTRE of one stud to the centre of the one opposite. On a 5-stud wheel you measure from the centre of one stud to the next-but-one stud i.e. skip one.
Q:I have a 1988 Subaru GL Coupe. It has the stock 13 inch wheels and I want to upgrade to 14 inch wheels. I heard that these wheels are rare because they are 4x100. What are my best options for wheels?
They are rare because they are4x140mm, not 4x100 which is quite common. You can find 14 inch alloy wheels from some 80s Subarus, but they are somewhat hard to find. Your best bet are to find a set of wheels off of a Peugeot 505, the only other car to use that odd bolt pattern. They come in 14 and 15 inch sizes, but some can be hard to find tires for. Also, places like Les Schwab can drill out a custom bolt pattern on new steel wheels for you.
Q:I am looking for some skate wheels that are 50-56 mm and soft like 70-85a. Thanks
The closest thing I know of is the OJ Hot Juice wheels. they're 60mm, 78a. try searching for old school skate wheels. old school wheels are softer, with square edges, and grip waaaaaay better. closer to a longboard that way.
Q:I need to have the wheels aligned in my 86 Bronco II. The car consistently pulls to the right. Its more annoying than dangerous. I've heard from numerous places that it would cost around $80 for a general alignment for 4 wheels, but that was for newer cars. What will the cost be for mine?
Mine costed about 120 with taxes, I had a 1993 Nissan sentra
